Grilled Portobello Burger

- 4 big portobello mushrooms shopping list
- 1/4 cup of balsamic vinegar shopping list
- 2 tbsp of olive oil shopping list
- 1 minced clove of garlic shopping list
- 1/4 tsp of dried oregano shopping list
- 1/4 tsp of dried basil shopping list
- 1/4 tsp of dried mint shopping list
- 4 slices of provolone cheese shopping list
- 4 1/4 inch thick slices of red onion, with a skewer run through to hold together shopping list
- shredded romaine shopping list
- 4 sandwich buns-I prefer onion buns or square asiago buns (think Panera) shopping list
- Purchased roasted red pepper hummus shopping list
How to make it
- Mix vinegar, herbs, and oil together with the garlic in a reclosable plastic bag.
- Add portobello mushrooms and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Run a two skewers through the red onion slices to hold in place.
- Prepare medium hot charcoal fire.
- Grill portobello mushrooms five minutes per side along with the onions.
- Brush generously with extra marinade while grilling.
- Top mushrooms with cheese and melt.
- Toast buns, add a smear of hummus to the bottom bun.
- Put a little bed of shredded lettuce on hummus.
- Top with mushrooms/cheese and grilled onion.
- Add top toasted bun.
