Apple Pie Cake with Rum Butter Sauce

- 1/4 cup butter softened shopping list
- 1 cup granulated sugar shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1 cup all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon shopping list
- 2 tablespoons hot water shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
- 3 cups peeled diced cooking apples shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans shopping list
- rum butter Sauce: shopping list
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened shopping list
- 1/2 cup whipping cream shopping list
- 1 tablespoon rum shopping list
How to make it
- Cream butter then gradually add sugar beating at medium speed of an electric mixer.
- Add egg and beat until blended.
- Combine flour, salt and cinnamon and mix well then add to creamed mixture and beat on low speed of electric mixer until smooth.
- Stir in water in vanilla then fold in apples and pecans and spoon into greased floured pie plate.
- Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
- Serve warm with sauce.
- For sauce combine first 4 ingredients in a small saucepan mix well.
- Bring to a boil and cook 1 minute then stir in rum.
