How to make it

  • Melt butter in microwave in 9x13" baking dish
  • Add corn syrup and sugar to butter, heat briefly to melt
  • Stir, then heat til mixture is bubbly in baking dish
  • Top with the bread slices, filling the dish
  • Mix eggs, vanilla and milk and pour over bread
  • Dish with cinnamon
  • Cover and refrigerate 1 hour or overnight
  • Bake, uncovered in preheated 350 degree oven for 45 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean
  • To serve, loosen edges of bread from pan sides with knife blade
  • Cut into individual size servings and invert on cookie sheet so caramelized sugar is on top
  • Using spatula, place individual serving on a plate and top with 1 T sour cream and some peach slices
  • Dust again with cinnamon and serve hot with a side of sausage or peppery bacon
