How to make it

  • Bake potatoes in 400 degree oven for 45 minutes until soft.
  • Scrap meat out of potatoes and mash
  • Add butter, salt, sugar, and milk and beat until creamy
  • Beat eggs and add them to mixture
  • Put in a buttered 13x9 glass baking dish
  • Bake at 350 for 1/2 hour
  • Put marshmallows on top of casserole and continue baking for 15 minutes until golden brown.
  • Make sure you put the baking dish on a foil lined cookie sheet or you could have a big marshmallow mess in your oven :-)

    I'm not a fan of Amish/German cooking, but this does sound tasty, and it will be a unique dish to take to a dinner with family or friends. Thanks for the post!
