Do you MIX the cake mix first as directed and pour it on top? or just add the cake "mix/powder" to the top?

Was glad to see that it was posted that a #2 can was 20 oz.
Think that it is important when sharing a recipe that uses a can of something that the can be listed in ozs.
Some recipes do not specify the size of baking dish or pan also think that is important.
    Thanks.

Hi tree! Got this from the retro-foods site. Many recipes in older cookbooks tell you to use a No. 2 can of a vegetables or fruit. But what IS a No. 2 can? I will tell you. A No. 2 can has about 2 1/2 cups of food. This usually is a 20 oz. can containing 5 servings.

I am going to try out this recipe soon, so I await your response.
    Thank you all.
