Chicken with White Wine Sauce

- 24 pearl onions, peeled shopping list
- 8 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced shopping list
- 4 strips thick cut bacon shopping list
- 4 pounds meaty skinless/boneless chicken pieces (breasts and thighs) shopping list
- salt and pepper shopping list
- 1 can cream of chicken & mushroom soup shopping list
- 1 cup dry white wine shopping list
- 2 t. italian seasoning shopping list
- 2 t chopped garlic shopping list
- (I add 2 t of capers) shopping list
How to make it
- Add pearl onions and mushrooms to a 4-5 qt slow cooker
- In a large skillet, over medium heat, fry bacon until crispy
- Set aside
- Discard all but 2 T of fat
- Season cut up chicken wtih salt and pepper
- Over medium-high heat, brown chicken pieces in bacon fat
- Place browned chicken in slow cooker
- In a medium bowl, stir together soup, wine, italian seasoning, capers, and garlic
- Pour over chicken
- Cover and cook on low heat stting for 8 hours (3-4 hours on high)
- To serve, ladle sauce over chicken and garnish with crumbled bacon
