How fantastic is my new shirt? That’s not a rhetorical question.

It’s so fantastic that when I retrieved it from my mailbox this morning on the way to work, I went back home so I could change into it.

Though I wish I could take credit for it, Miss Ashley Lewis of Modishly Naturopathic made it for me. I met her last week at the MarketStreet Blogger Crawl where she was sporting hers and taking orders from fellow bloggers dying for their own.  (Which is the same way a lot of popular designers get their start! If Ashley becomes a break-out designer, I fully intend to take credit for it.)

Collar At Me!

Hi friends. How's life? 

Mine's alright- just living the dream and stuff.

I got this new "Collar at Me" dress recently and not to brag but people have been hollering at me ever since. 

For example, the River Oaks District security guard hollered at me because we apparently weren't allowed to take these respective pictures in The River Oaks District.

My bestie, and fellow blogger, Candace (left) also hollered at me lots. Only when the security guard was circling back my way though, so I could "act natural" or run, whatever my adrenaline told me to do.

I then did the same for her, our code word being "eagle".

"Looking good Can!! Shit, wait........Eagle at 2 'o clock. Let's move!"

The girls and I recently paired up with online shop called Tobi.

TOBI GIRLS

 Announcement. 

Me and the girls (Julie and Candace) are teaming up with Tobi for this post and another one next week. The thing you guys need to know about Tobi is that the first time you order from them you get 50% off your order so that's phenomenal. 

I picked out this white number as it speaks to my virginal and angelic nature. I also thought it'd be good incase I go to Coachella next year. That seems likely at the ripe age of 34.

GREETINGS FROM A MONSOON

Don't be fooled by these pictures guys. They were taken last week.

Houston is currently DROWNING. 

Schools are closed. 

 Roads are closed. 

Airports are closed - meaning my flight to CO today was cancelled. =(

 And look at this guy.

Now that's a case of the Mondays.

I'm bummed about my flight but - perspective, people. 

I listened to an episode of the Jess Lively show this weekend where this girl had a brain tumor and can no longer eat. She gets all her nourishment from a feeding tube.

So yeah, I'll deal with cancelled flight.

How are we feeling about my jumpsuit?

SHORT SHORTS WITH TOBI

How do we feel about my new cut offs c/o Tobi? 
I admit their a bit more "Coachella" then mid 30's mom but should the
opportunity arise to go the festival this month I'm prepared.
All I'd need is some crop tops, a variety of drugs, and I'm ready to go.
(Though I kinda want the shirt regardless and the drugs.)

And let's talk about my clutch because I'm pretty proud of it.
It's couture and very expensive and very fancy...

HOUSTON COLOR WALL + NEW TOBI DRESS

Hi friends! I've missed you! 

Let me tell you about life!

First things first, Houston got an amazing color wall! It's the doing of my friends Ashley and Jared and I'll let them tell you about it here but so cool!

Candace and I stopped by the launch party for the wall last night and it was just delightful.

The weather was gorgeous. 

Tons of friends and fellow creatives were there who I hadn't seen in a while.

It felt like quintessential Spring evening in that everyone had come out of hibernation to celebrate C O L O R!

 Candace and I took a lot of pics like this.

If we look like we're in a loving and committed relationship its because we are.
I've been meaning to change my relationship status on Facebook accordingly.

Other new happenings in my life? 

I have new fave store called Tobi which is where I got this Daryn Collared Shift Dress that I'm wearing. (It also comes in black.) Tobi sent me two other pieces that I'm excited to share  as well so stay tuned. I know the anticipation must be hard but do your best.

 Sizing tip on this dress: I'm wearing a small and its tight. Not "that's so tight bro"  but literal tight. Consider ordering a size up but only on this dress. My other Tobi stuff fit true to size.

ASOS SECRET SANTA OUTFIT POST

Earlier this month Asos asked me if I wanted to participate in their "Secret Santa Blogger Exchange" - they'd assign me a blogger to buy for, another blogger would buy for me, and it's all be on the house. I told them I obviously wanted to do that and then congratulated myself for making such a keen business decision. 

These Lace Up Ballet Flats arrived in the mail a few weeks, chosen for me by Jordyn of Fairy Princess Diaries. Thanks girl!

River Island Outfit Post

                                     Have you guys ever heard of the store River Island because I hadn't. 

Therefore when I stumbled upon it in a mall in Johannesburg I assumed it was an African brand/store and thought I was super cool for shopping there.  What an authentic African shopping experience I'm having I thought. Kudos to me for navigating such culture shock.

This bag is only $50 and comes in red too!

Joke is on me though because not only is River Island a British brand but it's everywhere. They have over 350 stores across the UK and Europe. So basically I was shopping at a Target. 

So the bad news is that I'm not cool. (And a little dumb.)

The good news I can continue to shop River Island.
