My Nest Thermostat won's open the circuit from the W wire when the heater is supposed to turn off.
I have 3 wires, R W C. My understanding is that the R and C wires provide power to the thermostat which it is powered. The W wire is to provide an open circuit when the heater needs to turn off. Is there another wire that is responsible for the open circuit.
My actual heater unit on has 2 connections, when these connections are shorted, it turns on, open circuit turns off. I would think running the W wire on one side and C wire to the other should provide the proper connection.
