Somatic Psychotherapy

At times, it can feel as if our bodies and minds are disconnected, as though they are operating separately. In reality, they are deeply interconnected, constantly communicating with each other.

In our work together, we will learn to tune into the body’s signals, listening with curiosity rather than judgment. We’ll explore bodily sensations, build the capacity to tolerate discomfort, deepen emotional awareness, and orient toward safety and joy. By tracking these mind-body connections with curiosity, we can cultivate a greater understanding and appreciation for the body’s responses. More importantly, this awareness supports healthy self-regulation and a deeper sense of wholeness.

Integrating Somatic Experiencing®

Somatic Experiencing® (SE™) is a body-oriented approach to healing trauma and stress stored in the nervous system. Within the safety of a strong therapeutic relationship, SE™ helps the body process trauma and restore a sense of well-being and safety.

This approach is an integral part of my work, naturally woven into the healing process. During a consultation, we can explore SE™ in more depth and discuss how it can be incorporated into our sessions.

Transpersonal Psychology

Transpersonal Psychology explores the spiritual and transcendent aspects of human nature. This can include deepening our sense of interconnectedness, integrating spirituality into daily life, expanding consciousness, or stepping beyond the ego’s perspective. It also honors any mystical experiences that may be meaningful to you.

This area of study is both a professional and personal passion of mine, as my own spiritual experiences deeply inform my life. I recognize that everyone has different levels of comfort with spiritual exploration, and my goal is to meet you wherever you are on your journey—bringing these elements into our work only in ways that feel right for you.

“Meagan provided a warm and welcoming space for exploring my very scary and emotionally intense feelings during a challenging transition in my 38 year marriage. Meagan was extremely helpful in supporting all of my conflicting feelings and asked honest and deep questions which prompted me to look at my life and my relationships in new and healthier ways. Her professionalism, kindness and openess were of tremendous help to me during a time when I felt very alone. She is remarkable.”
