Madden NFL 10 Sales Disappoint EA

X360 News | Sep 11, 2009

Bloomberg is reporting that EA's John Ricitiello is displeased with the sales performance of Madden this year (via Joystiq). Though Madden NFL 10 is the highest-reviewed Madden in a long while, Ricitiello sees the poor sales as an indicator of the troubles that the industry is facing as a whole.

According to NPD numbers obtained by IndustryGamers, the Wii version of Madden 10 sold only 67,000 copies (compared to last year's 116,000 copies sold on the same system). The PS2 and the Xbox 360 versions fared much better, netting 160K and 928K sales, respectively. Read More »

Region Issues Mar Madden 10 Release

X360 News | Aug 14, 2009

As reported by Joystiq, the Madden 10 EA Forums erupted this morning after codes for the downloadable, free Online Franchise Mode did not appear on the manuals of some UK and Australia customers. The Online Franchise Mode is supposed to be free for consumers who bought the game new (an incentive to not buy the used version), but as of now, the only way to get the mode for users who didn't receive a code is to purchase the add-on online. EA contributes the problem to a printer error, where some versions of the instruction booklet were printed without a code, and is reportedly working to fix problem. Read More »

The Consensus: Madden NFL 10 Review

X360 Reviews | Aug 12, 2009

Madden NFL 10 is the most realistic Madden in history, and a giant leap in the right direction for those who want the game to edge closer to a realistic NFL experience. It starts with Pro-Tak, the impressive new technology that combines the best aspects of motion captured and procedurally generated animation. Pro-Tak brings all sorts of tasty new features to the game, like gang tackles (with up to 9 players!), dynamic fumble pile-ups, and an offensive line that forms a realistic pocket around their QB on pass plays.
