Peter Jackson Confirms His Halo Projects are Cancelled

In an interview with Joystiq Peter Jackson confirms that his Halo project is, "no longer happening." Jackson claims that in the process of moving the Halo property to 343 Industries, and due to his severed ties with the now-defunct "Halo" movie, his interactive project fell through the cracks.

"It sort of collapsed when the movie didn't end up happening," Peter explains. He also states that the "Halo" movie wasn't canceled because of its demanding budget, but because of internal politics between Fox and Universal. Read More »

Today Bungie released new details on its upcoming Render-to-Video service. Bungie will be running an open Beta for it, but only for players who are paid Bungie Pro subscribers as of yesterday. Early Pro members who have let their subscriptions go can be part of it, though, if they choose to re-up their service.

At 3:05 a.m. PST Xbox Live's Major Nelson was apparently still awake, as a post to his XBL gaming blog indicated that Bungie's Mythic map pack for Halo 3 was at last available. Costing Halo 3 addicts 800 Microsoft Points (yes, that 10 bucks) the pack is possibly the last piece of DLC we'll see for Halo 3.
