Media Molecule

Media Molecule is the creation of Mark Healey, formerly of Bullfrog Productions and Lionhead Studios as well as creator of the independently-produced Rag Doll Kung Fu (a pet project of Mark's kicked around with shortly before his leaving Lionhead.) The team was formed of friends and co-workers who helped make Rag Doll Kung Fu hit, including Alex Evans, David Smith and Kareem Ettouney. Although the team only loosely formed during Rag Doll's production (officially, Mark gets the credit for making the game), the team made it official soon after to keep the group together and its independent spirit fully active.

With the release of LittleBigPlanet for PlayStation 3, Media Molecule delivered on its ambitions of being the studio credited for creating the "next big thing," in its own little way. The company also collaborated with partner studios on a PSP version of LittleBigPlanet and a PlayStation Network version of Rag Doll Kung Fu. In March of 2010, it was announced that the award-winning developer had been acquired by Sony Computer Entertainment (becoming part of its SCE WWS family) in a strategic move to continue to secure excellence in game development for current and future PlayStation platforms.
