Ultimate Spider-Man
Gamers have never had a hard time finding a video game featuring Marvel's webslinging superhero. Activision adds another title to Spidey's repertoire later this year with the release of Ultimate Spider-Man. Based Marvel's Ultimate line of books, this teenaged version of Spider-Man is much younger and more agile than in previous games. Graphically, the game uses a cel-shaded technique to make everything in the game look like it was ripped out of the latest issue of the comic. But probably the biggest buzz about Ultimate Spider-Man comes from the fact that gamers will have the option of fighting crime or causing it as Spidey's arch-villain, Venom.

Justice League of America
Announced just prior to Comic-Con, Warner Bros. Interactive has begun development of a new action title based on DC Comics' preeminent superhero team. The game is being billed as a superhero RPG and will feature a lineup of top names from the DC stable of characters, including Superman, Batman, Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, and Zatanna. Each character will have his or her own particular strengths, which players will be able to customize and improve upon throughout the course of the game. Justice League of America is scheduled for a fall 2006 release on both the PS2 and Xbox.

DC's classic heroes are teaming up to tackle the gaming space.

Superman Returns
Marvel isn't the only comic company getting EA's attention these days. EA has also acquired the video game rights to Warner Bros. upcoming Superman movie. While the details of the game are being kept under wraps, the movie was generating a lot of talk at Comic-Con. In Superman Returns, the Man of Steel returns to Earth after a decade long absence, only to find that those closest to him have moved on. As Superman tries to find his place once again in the world he left behind, a new threat looms over the horizon which could destroy the the only home he's ever truly known.
