Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy Walkthrough

Chapter 0: Path to Sanctuary

Players of the original Dissidia may be confused (or relieved) to see the absence of the chessboard upon starting story mode, but don't worry; it'll be back. For now, navigate Lightning through the open world map and head through the empty gateway in front of you.

Follow the glowing orbs, which you can destroy with Bravery attacks to earn a Straight Chain skill. Move past Yuna and Laguna and open a nearby treasure chest to earn 50 gil. Continue forward and you'll soon find Kain waiting outside of a gateway and instructing you to go inside. Since his armor is terrifying and his spear is taller than you are, it can't hurt to listen. Approach the Gateway To Departure and jump in.

Inside the gateway, you'll see that the chessboard layout has returned. Grab the Broadsword from the chest, then visit the customization menu to equip it.

Imported Data Accessories - If you imported data from the original Dissidia upon starting your game, check your Accessories menu. You'll have a few free Elixir accessories, which you can equip to boost your Luck stat for the time being (until better accessories come along shortly).

There are no enemies in this prologue, so approach the Stigma of Chaos and engage it, ending gateway play and the chapter.
