An official statement released by Sony today informs us that Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's president and CEO David Reeves has retired and will leave his post at the end of April. GI notes that his successor will be former chief marketing officer Andrew House, who was previously responsible for overseeing the company's global marketing efforts.
"David's contribution in firmly establishing the PlayStation brand and expanding the business in Europe/PAL territories in his 14 year tenure at SCEE is immeasurable," commented Kazuo Hirai, President and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment.

"I'm confident that the skills and expertise Andy has gained over the years working as Sony's CMO will contribute enormously in leading the PlayStation business in Europe/PAL countries and regions and to bring new initiatives in managing the business in the coming networked era," added Hirai.
Reeves has been with Sony since 1995.

Reeves: Leaving it all behind at the end of the month.

Bryn says: A changing of guard for SCEE, eh? Having been part of the U.S. side of the industry for so long makes it hard for me to gauge general feelings about such a transition. New blood is generally a good thing (Ninendo's Iwata versus Yamauchi springs to mind) so let's see how Mr. House performs.

(No, not House M.D.)
