I knew there were going to be problems getting our 21st 'Spy-Hunter together, but I was surprised by where we ended up running into those problems. We typically have only about four or five editors show up for these, but when we announced that we were going to play Team Fortress 2 on the PC... well, that was a different story altogether. Suddenly we had editors coming out of the woodwork just dying to play against our readers who, in turn, were equally ravenous about wanting to shred some 'Spies.

I think you'll find that we GameSpies fielded our largest team yet during this last 'Spy-Hunter, and to be totally honest with you, I'm not even sure if I know all of the guys that showed up. I mean, we had people from all over the company clamoring for frags, not just editors... I don't know what these people actually do for GameSpy, but I think it has something to do with the multiplayer technology that we provide and some engineering folks that actually build this fine site that you are enjoying right now.

I do know one thing though, every GameSpy that participated in this last 'Spy-Hunter can play a mean game of Team Fortress 2, because we nearly won every round and that was only because we tied one round. Not too shabby if you ask me.

Sound Affects

It may take a minute to notice, but I have to apologize for the distinct lack of sound effects and voice chat in this week's video. I'm not even sure exactly what happened, because I probably spent the most time setting this 'Spy-Hunter up out of any that we've held prior. All I can offer is that it worked when we hooked everything up, and the next thing I know I've got one of our crack video team members over my shoulder saying, "Hey, you know you're not getting any sound, right?"

No. No, I did not know that. Weak!

And that is how this week's 'Spy-Hunter ended up with the Team Fortress 2 theme played over and over again. I hope it's not too terribly repetitive, because it was the best solution I could come up with besides having Patrick make all the sound effects with his mouth; although he does do a pretty good "PEWPEWPEW," so maybe that wouldn't have been the worst way to go. In any case, please accept my humble apologies on the sound issue, but know that with each 'Spy-Hunter my ability to ferret out these pesky technical difficulties becomes more and more streamlined... if these bugs don't kill me, they will only serve to make 'Spy-Hunter stronger!

Clean House

So, as you can see by the embedded video above, we GameSpies definitely know our way around a mouse and keyboard. It's too bad this was the first opportunity we've had to demonstrate this, but we gave you kids a year to beat the tar out of us; now it is Season 2. Now, we are not messing around. Now, we work as a single unit, coursing through each map with the practiced lethality of deadly ninjas. Now, you have no chance.

Don't believe me? Think I'm lying? Watch the video and quake in terror at our awesome might!
