Their About page lays out the basics.
What's another word for torture? One that implies that something is just out of reach, and is aggravating us to no end? Grieve? No. How about vex? No, that won't do it. Oh, I know! Torment. Because that's what this Torment: Tides of Numenera website is doing to me right now. As
RPS reports, the spiritual sequel to Planescape: Torment has a
brand new website with some juicy pieces of information. Too bad the real stuff is just out of our reach.
Now, inXile is very busy with their
other classic game reboot
Wasteland 2 at the moment, but that doesn't mean they're not thinking long and hard about what's going to be happening in Tides of Numenera.
Quick aside: Numenera sounds way too much like
Numa Numa for my liking.
Their
About page lays out the basics of the world, particularly in regards to the numenera themselves. The story will take place after mankind's civilizations have fallen, and the numenera are powerful remnants of what once was. "This assortment of ancient power is there for the taking, ever-present, underfoot. The humans of the Ninth World take and use what they can. They call these wonders (and horrors) the numenera," says the official website.
Go ahead and swing on over to the
Torment: Tides of Numenera official website for some more information. You can also
vote on what sort of pledge rewards you'd prefer once the crowdsourcing begins.
