At the beginning of the year, my 1st graders were needing a little help remembering how to count forwards and backwards. They were pretty good at counting if they started counting at the number 1 but were struggling to count on from any other number.
So I made this little activity to help them out and give them some extra practice.
I printed off the number cards 1 - 30 and divided them into a pile of 1-15 and 16-30. Students took turns drawing two cards and counting from the first number to the 2nd number. We practiced counting forwards and backwards.
We also practiced writing numbers starting with the first card we drew.
