Dave began drumming at the age of 10, and had his first gig at the age of 13. His early passion for drumming has continued through decades of experience in live performance, studio recording, film soundtrack, and theater.
Having extensive formal training -- private instruction and high school and university jazz programs -- he combines technical proficiency with his natural passion and feel for a wide range of musical styles. Dave’s jazz studies included classes and coaching sessions from legendary musicians such as Kenny Burrell, Charlie Haden, Billy Higgins, and others.
Dave’s early experiences in rock and jazz laid a foundation to bring dynamics and creativity to artists in a wide range of styles. He has recorded and performed with artists in R&B, Blues, Pop, Country, and international music as well his primary roots of Rock and Jazz.
With his many years of experience and his versatility, Dave delivers what the music calls for, with creativity, dynamics, and passion.
