Be Mine Valentine Tags

Winter is finally here ... brrr.  Yesterday I dug out my winter gloves and scarf (I know I should have done it sooner).  While my kitty slept by the fire, I took to my craft room to work on more Valentine's Day projects.  I just love handmade gifts for the different occasions.

I cut some beautiful rose patterned paper using a Spellbinders Nested Heart die.  While keeping the paper in the die I sponged Brilliance Platinum Planet ink over the embossing.  A smaller heart was cut with the Classic Hearts die.  Be Mine was stamped in Bravo Burgundy ink and embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  The edges were inked in Pink Pirouette.  The little heart was popped up to give dimension.

A pretty pink rose was adhered to the top with 1/4" satin white ribbon.  These were super quick and easy to create while dinner was in the oven.  Oh, and in case you are wondering Lasagna was on the menu.

I received the new Stampin' Up Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs (thank you so much Terry).  Well, I have to say I'm a little disappointed as SU is coming out with more and more photopolymer stamps.  These are my least favorite and not the best stamps for embossing or using StazOn inks.  Did anything special catch your eye?  I thought the Bloomin' Love set was adorable with the matching Heart Thinlits Die.  Just wish it was a rubber stamp set  :-(

Have a wonderful evening and to all my friends in the Northeast - keep warm!

Always Grateful

Hello blogging friends,

I hope you had a blessed Thursday.  Today I have a Thanksgiving card to share with you.  I can't believe it will be here next week!  I'm actually looking forward to eating some turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce and all the other fixings.  I'm also taking a few days off to relax and craft  :-)

The pretty autumn leaves were stamped in More Mustard, Really Rust and Ruby Red onto a piece of Shimmery White paper cut from a Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Eight die.  It was then adhered to a Decorative Labels Twenty-Eight.  The splatters were randomly stamped in Crumb Cake on a piece of beige paper.

Grateful was stamped in StazOn Timber Brown with the edges sponged in Chocolate Chip.  It fit perfectly on the Whimsy Stamps Notables 3 die.  The bow is crinkled seam binding with a heirloom button in the center.

The inside sentiment by PSX was stamped in StazOn Timber Brown and I added a few more leaves.  I treasure my PSX stamps and from time to time I find them on eBay.

Thank you for stopping to visit and I will see you again real soon.

Valentine's Day Palace

Hello my friends,

Happy Super Bowl Sunday!  Before the game gets underway, I have a Valentine's Day card to share with you using some Memory Box supplies.  I wanted to create a subtle background using the Adornment stencil.  A piece of Very Vanilla paper was cut to size; I placed the stencil over it and spritzed the background using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Iridescent Gold - Ooh La La, how pretty!  It's extremely difficult to see in the photo, but the pattern is there.

Next, I cut and assembled the Palace Oval Frame and popped it up off the background.  A precious heart was cut from Pink Pirouette paper.  Of course, I had to add some Star Dust Stickles to it.  A silver rhinestone accents the bow.  The word love was cut using an Elizabeth Craft Designs die.  I like how it fits perfectly in the frame.

Happy Valentine's Day was stamped and embossed using Close to Cocoa ink.  The little heart was filled with Cotton Candy Stickles.  I thought it needed something else so I added a musical note.

Enjoy the game tonight.  I really don't care which team wins.  Do you have a favorite?  We are going to a friend's house who always puts on a spread.

They are predicting more snow this evening.  Here's hoping the drive to work in the morning won't be too bad.

A Birthday Timepiece

Today is my friend's birthday! I wish him a very happy birthday filled with blessings! This card is made using the BoBunny Timepiece Collection.  This collection gives off a very heritage inspired feel to me.

The base card is coco layered with a piece of Cherry Cobbler.  Two pieces of designer paper were cut for the background and trimmed with satin ribbon.  A clock created from chipboard was popped up.  I added a bow with matching clock brad.

I used the extra-large curly label punch to cut a piece of Very Vanilla paper.  Friend was stamped in Cherry Cobbler.  SU's Vintage Labels set was used for the frame.  This piece was layered onto a piece of Chocolate Chip cut from a Labels One Small #2 die.  The Cherry Cobbler flourish was glued and the label was popped up.

The inside sentiment was stamped in Chocolate Chip and embossed with clear embossing powder.  A few gear images were stamped in Chocolate Chip.

Here's hoping your week is off to a fabulous start.  I appreciate all your wonderful comments.

A Simple Rose

Hi blogging friends,

Several years ago Memory Box created some exclusive stamp sets with matching dies for Simple Pleasures in Colorado Springs.  I was very fortunate to be able to purchase some of them.  So for Valentine's Day I wanted to share with you the Simple Rose.

The card base is Natural White Linen layered with Pretty in Pink and a piece of Tresor paper from Scrapbook Graphics.  The edges were distressed and sponged with ColorBox Chalk Creamy Brown.  I used the Simple Rose die to cut a piece of Very Vanilla paper.  The image was then stamped in StazOn Timber Brown ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils.

Amour was stamped in brown on Tresor paper and layered onto a piece of Pretty in Pink.  Both were cut from Spellbinders Labels Four dies.  Using my Bow-Easy I created a tiny pink bow from May Arts silk ribbon for the stem.

Since Valentine's Day is all about lace and frills I popped up the rose and amour over a 4" doily.  Vintage winter white seam binding with a flat back cream pearl accent the corner.

The inside sentiment was stamped in Regal Rose and embossed with clear embossing powder.

I hope your week is off to a great start!  Thank you for dropping by to visit.  I always love to see you!

Ticket to Love

Can you believe the week is almost over - yippee!  I'm sharing a simple Valentine's Day card using some pretties from the Artisan Embellishments Kit.

I started with a piece of Mon Couer pink paper and embossed it with a Cuttlebug Anna Griffin Rosa embossing folder (one of my favorites).  Doesn't it just look divine?

Lace was wrapped around the pink paper and adhered to Very Vanilla.  A heart was cut from Bella Rose background paper using the Memory Box Grand Heart die.  It was popped up with a love ticket placed in the center.  I found a piece of pink sheer organza ribbon in my "stash".  It adds some romance without covering up the heart.  A Very Vanilla resin rose becomes a charming accent for this valentine.

Happy Valentine's Day was stamped in StazOn Stone Gray on a piece of pink paper cut from a Spellbinders Floral Ovals #4 die.

I wish Stampin' Up! would offer this lace in the big catty, but I'm sure Shelli isn't reading this blog  :-)

Enjoy the big game this weekend!

Mount Shasta

I have a friend at work who loves to give everyone weather updates.  It doesn't matter if it is snowing, raining or 90 degrees out.  I don't even need a weather app since I know I will get the latest updates ... lol.  So when his birthday came around I wanted to create a card with a mountain scene.  I'm calling this one Mount Shasta.

On a piece of Kromekote glossy paper I stamped the mountains in StazOn Dove Gray.  I did a little masking with a Post-it note around the base of the mountains knowing that I was going to stamp trees in the foreground.  The trees were stamped in StazOn Olive Green.

Next, I stamped some faint clouds using Bashful Blue ink then colored in the mountains slightly with ColorBox Whisper Grey and Going Gray.  The background forest was colored in Bordering Blue, Not Quite Navy and Night of Navy.  I wanted to give the perspective that you are up high looking down upon the forest.

The inside sentiment was stamped in Night of Navy and embossed with clear embossing powder.  Some matching trees were stamped in the corner.

A big happy birthday to my friend.  He also received a gift card tucked inside this creation  :-)

Just Flying By!

I was hoping to post this card last night, but Blogger wasn't cooperating with me.  This spooky scene was created using only two stamps.  On a piece of glossy white paper I stamped the trees and Halloween witch in StazOn Black.  Next, I punched a 1 3/8" circle from a post-it note as a mask for the moon.  The background was sponged in Bordering Blue, Distress Bundled Sage, Distress Shabby Shutters, Distress Peeled Paint, Distress Weathered Wood, Distress Faded Jeans, SU Night of Navy and Distress Black Soot.

Before I removed the mask I applied Tsukineko Sheer Sparkle Shimmer Spritz to the scene.  I mounted the focal image to a piece of Kiwi Kiss paper then onto a black linen card.

The inside sentiment was stamped in Kiwi Kiss and embossed with clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

I hope you are excited about Halloween as much as I am!  Please be sure to stop back tomorrow to have some spooky tea with me.

Tulips in Bucket

Hi there,

Is everyone having a great week?  The weather has been just amazing!  We all know it wouldn't be spring without tulips so I hope you enjoy my card today.

On a piece of Shimmery White paper cut from a Spellbinders Labels Seventeen #5 die, I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black.  The tulips and bucket were colored with Copic markers.

Friend was stamped in StazOn Black on a piece of Almost Amethyst paper cut from a Lacey Oval #1 die.  I added a little bow from 1/8" violet ribbon using my Bow-Easy.  The butterfly is from SU's Beautiful Wings die.

Before mounting everything I sponged the 4" doily with Almost Amethyst ink.  The background is Euphoria paper by Basic Grey.

I noticed last night someone has been snacking on my garden tulips.  Could it be one of my bunnies?  I put a cage around them so hopefully we will have a few blooms.  I tell you it is tough being a gardener  :-)
