Pine Forest

 Hello crafty friends,

Mary back with three cards showcasing the Aspen & Pine Forest die by Impression Obsession and a couple of other dies.

Starting with this first card, on which I used the die to create a shaker element.

I die cut the panel from 110lb white card stock which I covered with score tape first, so that I would be able to attached it to it blue background pattern paper easily, which I did.  I also die cut the top part of the panel (trees) from green card stock and trimmed away the non birch trees.  This die cut also was backed with score tape, so it was super easy to cover the white birch trees w/the greens ones adding interest to my background. Next I added two layers of foam tape around the frame of the die

I added my "snow" mixture and die cut the "frame" to top my shaker from silver glitter paper... tip:  to save glitter paper I fuzzy cut the center of the glitter paper since I didn't need it when die cutting the die this time.  I only needed the border/frame.  I fuzzy cut anything that wasn't the frame.

.

On card 2 I used the same technic trees, only this time I left the birch trees white and covered the "pine" trees with a second layer of green card stock.  I backed the Cute Rudolph by Frantic Stamper with white card stock.

For card 3, I wanted to see if I could make the Aspen & Pine Forest die work on a slim card.

I started by die cutting the panel twice from green card stock.  Using my card panel for size reference I looked for a place I could join the two die cuts without it looking weird and trimmed the excess off.  I ended up getting rid of the bottom parts of the die realizing I should have used white card stock (snow).

I backed the die cuts with blue pattern paper and using a white gel pen painted some of the trees white.  I inked the bottom of the "ground" with white distress ink.  The "Winter Cheer" is from a Penny Black die set that unfortunately is not currently available, but the Joyful Winter set is.  The cute house and sleigh is an unmounted stamp from Purple Onion Designs by Stacey Yacula.

Candy Canes

 Hello crafty friends,

It's my turn at bat today, actually you don't want me batting, I'm terrible at sports, but I'm good at card making, so that's what I do and that's what I have for you today... a Christmas card featuring this fun Candy Canes die from Tutti.

The die measures 2.85" x 4", so it makes a great focal point on a card.  I die cut it twice from red glitter card stock for my slim card.

I used Distress Oxide Ink and a Christmas word background stamp to create a background for my Candy Canes dies using two free handed cut circle post-it note masks to keep to areas white, so that the bows of the die cuts would differ a little. Until next time... Take care.

Christmas Birds

Hello crafting friends. Lena here today sharing another Christmas card with you.

As you know by now, I'm a huge fan of Marianne Design dies and when Dies R Us have their Special Order Sales, I tend to buy more than my fair share :-) If you love international dies or are just looking for some to complete the dies you already have, the best way to know about these amazing sales is to subscribe to the Dies R Us Newsletter.

So using one of Marianne's newest dies, Petra's Winter Circle, I cut out all the layers in the different colours that I had planned.

This die is gorgeous and comes with a few embellishment pieces.

After die cutting and embossing them, and while the card stock is still in the dies, I used Memento Desert Sand to add a bit of shading.

Once that was done and I had all my bits and pieces together, it was very easy and quick to assemble the card.

I picked a small greeting stamp and curved it on the stamping block so that it would take the same curve as the greeting space on the banner of the die. I could have stopped right here, but felt that I wanted to add something to the bottom of the card to balance it out.  So I grabbed another few dies, listed below, and made the little poinsettia arrangement.  I added a few gems here and there and adhered the image, which is from a die cutting sheet by Amy Design, called Warm Christmas Feelings.  For the inside, I used the fancy circle from the die to cut out the circle.  The stamped greeting from the Festive Greetings stamp set by Creative Expressions.

Here is a list of the crafty supplies used,
each linked to the Dies R Us store  for your convenience.

Friends

Hi! Doni here today with a sweet card for your BFF.

I got the idea for this card from the Meow You Doin' stamp set from Lawn Fawn.
The sentiment on the bottom says Let's Be Friends Furever, however the letters are all the same size
and I wanted to use the friends die cut which is way larger.
so this is what I did:
I used the "s" from the sympathy die. Cut both dies out of the same color ,
cut off the letter and add it to the word and the problem is solved!
Here's what I used to make this card:

Poppystamps - Dies - Friend Folksy Script
Lawn Fawn - Meow You Doin' Stamps

Lawn Fawn - Meow You Doin' Dies

Lawn Fawn - Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Frames Dies

Smile

Doni here today with a card that I hope will make you SMILE!

One of the tips  I have for you today is: Never throw away interesting scraps!

Even though I've cut many things from this paper already...I still found room to cut the Smile!
(paper made with distress ink smooshed on glossy paper)

Another tip is to layer dies cuts together for added dimension, in this case I used 4 layers.

Notice how the dots from the i are stuck on some removable tape, believe me those
little stinkers can just up and disappear on you!!!

To finish this card all I had to do was cut a panel from some pretty rainbow paper
add it to a Black A2 size card base, add the " Smile" and finish it off with a sentiment strip
that I white heat embossed on black paper.

This is what I used to make this card:
Impression Obsession - Dies - Smile

Zig 2-Way Glue Pen - Squeeze & Roll

Thinking of You

Hello Crafty Friends  -Doni here today with a clean and simple card.

Sometimes a die is so beautiful it just needs to be showcased.  That's how I felt when I saw this Umbel Butterfly die from Memory box.

Here's what I used to make this card:

The background piece is from when my friend Darlene showed me how to "smush"
Ranger Distress Inks.  I die cut two Umbel Butterfly's , keeping all the background pieces in on one of them( a little tape on the back helps keep them there).

Now all there is to do is assemble the layers! Easy Peasy!
These are the supplies I used with links to the Dies R Us Store for your convenience:
