A Lame-Duck Showdown in the House Looms | National Review Online

House majority leader Kevin McCarthy (R., Calif.) unnerved Congress’s conservative rank-and-file with the agenda he revealed last week, to the point that they are already looking to undermine his plans for the lame-duck session.

Congressional sources say that McCarthy’s stated desire to pass a long-term government-funding bill in the lame-duck session, coupled with a focus on small-ball legislative priorities favored by business interests, suggests that Republican leaders haven’t learned the right lessons from the defeat of McCarthy’s precedessor, Eric Cantor.

Actually, they’ve learned every damned thing they need to know.  They’ve learned they can do whatever they want to do, and Republicans – even conservatives – will vote for them anyway.  Because Democrats!

I’ve listened to so much horseshit lately.

“Elect them and hold their feet to the fire.”  By voting for them again, and again.

“Elect them and they’ll have to listen to us.”  Because we vote for them no matter what.

“Elect them and they’ll stop the Democrats.”  Because even if they don’t, we’ll still vote for them.

I wonder how the Republican Robots will spin their lockstep votes for the GOP in 2016 after two years of utter failure to implement, or even try to implement, any of the promises they made to conservatives?

My guess?  Because Hillary!

Stop laughing at the suicidal idiocy of Democrat blacks, people.  You’re no better or smarter yourselves.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.
