And that’s what his purported “aggressive” approach really means: He’s given up going for independents, who tend to be repelled by aggressive thuggishness, and is desperately trying to shore up the bloodthirsty hooligans of his base.
He’s totally demoralized. Romney should ride right through him this time around, and I think that’s exactly what he will do.
I expect an aggressive, pugnacious performance will get boffo reviews, and even a bump in the polls. The race will be judged even/too-close-to-call right up until election day. Afterward, the left will do its own Arab Rage Boy impression. Stay off the streets on November 7th, Bill.
No, I thing Raging Empty Suit will screw it up with some sort of huge gaffe. He hates Romney, and his pretend-anger may just explode into real anger – of the kind that makes people wince and turn away, muttering “WTF…?”
But, but… that doesn’t jive with the scenario of the contrarian Aussie astrologers, who claim Romney will win, but the election result will be a stunner. Then again, given the left’s penchant for self delusion, a Romney win would be a stunner to them, wouldn’t it? OTOH, maybe the margin will be the stunner, with the final polls showing a relatively close election. I’ll be happy either way, as long as Bambi is gone.
