McCain to Meet With Secret Service

MEMPHIS (AP) – Sen. John McCain intends to meet with Secret Service officials in the next several days in preparation for accepting security protection for the final several months of his White House bid, campaign officials said Friday.

In a way this may seem admirable – but given that the first victim of a Palestinian Arab assassin was Robert Kennedy, forty years ago, (and we still don’t really have any idea how much American history was changed by that event) and further given that various other Islamist and Arab barbarian savages would love a chance to murder the GOP candidate, it seems to me both whacked and the height of hubris for McCain to take this sort of risk.

Of course, McCain has never been short of either whackery or hubris. Or a monumental egomania, for that matter.
