9/13: do you ever read out of your comfort zone? and if yes, does it work for you?

All the time. I like trying new things. All the different book clubs have been a part of over the years have certainly helped me branch out into different genres and authors.

Sure there are some duds but overall....reading out of my comfort zone really has worked for me. I wouldn't have found books like Historical Romances without branching out. That is one of my biggest loves!

8/16/2022 What do your family and friends think of your blogging?

I don't really go around talking about my blog. Just rarely comes up. Those of my friends and family think it's cool and is super supportive about it. I think a couple follow me? Not really sure though. LOL

My hubby has been supportive but I don't think I told him about it until year 2 of dating? He's not much of a reader but he never really gives me crap about all my books. He has never suggested I downsize. This is wise because my books are my babiessss.

TMST: No-Nos That Make Me Toss The Book

Tell Me Something Tuesday is a weekly discussion post where bloggers discuss a wide range of topics from books and blogging to life in general. Weigh in and join the conversation by adding your thoughts in the comments. If you want to do your own post, grab the question and answer it on your blog. 6/21 What are book no-nos that make you figuratively want to toss a book across the room?

Oooo man.

I would have to say super nonconsensual smexy scenes and then one character being all okay with it after like a day. NO!!! *tosses book*

OR when one person is SUPER abusive and just flat out mean and terrible and the other character is all "That's okay. I lurve him/her/it". >_> And I don't mean tropes with enemies becoming friends or lovers. What I mean is a character literally abusing and hurting the person they so-called love and the abusee is all okay with it and makes excuses. Can't deal with that. *tosses book*

OR when a character is SO shitty and does shitty things and has shitty excuses. There was one book where a character decided to just walk away from his responsibilities as a father. "Oh, he's better off. I work way too much." WHAT? It's not like you are a druggie or whatever....but a workaholic? So just because you are TOO busy to spend time with the kid you are just gonna walk??? Literally, nope. *tosses book*

Those are just just the top three I could think of right away.

TMST: Reviewing Books

5/24/2022 Do you review every book you read? Why or why not?

Yep! I review every book I read whether or not I liked it or even finished it. I try to keep the DNF to a small amount. I'm picky with what I read.

I review every book for multiple reasons.

1) I want credit on Goodreads and my other reading challenges..hehe
2) I love sharing my thoughts...I'm opinionated.
3) I want to share what I read so if someone else read it we can discuss
4) If it is BAD I want to help people and let them know so they can make an informed decision. They may like it when I didn't but I list my reasons and they go on
5) If I loved it I want to promote it and share it with the worrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrld!

TMST: Favorite Romances (Books, Movies, Stories, Poems...etc)

2/15/2022 Valentine's Day Share your favorite romance moments: movie, book, story, etc.

Awwww I will say romance anything is my 2nd favorite genre! I love historicals the most, but romance is a close 2nd (some days I feel like it takes 1st place). And don't get me started on historical romances ;) Blending TWO of my favorites? Can't get enough folks!

I am a hopeless romantic and I do adore a love of tragic love stories! Those are always a blast. I love having my heart break. hehehe

Soooo favorites? Mmmmmm there are so many things I could share. I love how vague this post is....mmm. Maybe I'll share some favorites from certain categories.

First....let's do book and movie/TV adaptation:

#1 is def Cold Mountain. Both the book and the hit movie. Both are fantastic.

#2 is Wuthering Heights. I love the book and the Tom Hardy version. Eeeek. I could be biased because I def crush on Tom Hardy but it is SO good. ;) And the book is a classic!!

#3 Bridgerton and The Duke and I. I am LOVING this TV show adaptation AND I have been enjoying the series (I think I am on book 3?). Can't wait to read more and see the new season in March.

Favorite Book Series:
One of my favorite romance series is the Pink Carnation series by Lauren Willig. I think it is what really got me in the genre mixing. There is contemporary love, historical romance, historical fiction, mystery, spies....so many of the things ALL in one. I would simply DIE if these became a show or movie series.

Favorite(s) of the classics:

Mmmm let's see. Oh! Jane Austen is the Queen of classic love stories FOR sure. Her stuff is a must if you are reading classic love stories. My ultimate fave is Persuasion. 2nd place goes to the famous Pride and Prejudice.

Favorite of the romance poets:

#1 Thomas Wyatt. Love his stuff. He has a sprinkle of tragic love so he is def on the top of my list!

#2 Robert Byrne....bc duh.

#3 Edgar Allen Poe....that tragic love again...can't get enough!! So he counts for romance in my books ;)

Favorite Contemporary movies:

I haven't read the book (so I couldn't count it towards the first category), but I simply LOVE this movie. It makes me cry every.single.damned.time.

Juno!!! This is def a love story I love and is cute!

A Star is Born made me feel everything. All the emotions! I've seen a couple of the older ones, but this one is the best 100000%.

I used to watch this once a month I swear! It's been a couple of years so I'm itching to watch it again! I love Rom Coms. They bring me joy! Watch 50 First Dates !!! If I had to pick only ONE Rom Com....this is the one.

Okay, I will stop myself there. I could go on and on. There are SO many good books, movies, and TV shows.

There are so many stories and couples that I love. So many genres. Eeee.

I think that is why I love romance so much. It can be found everywhere and in every genre. Love is can found in the most unlikely places. ^_^

TMST: Paper, Electronic, Audio books

10/12 - paper, electronic, audio… how do you read?

I'll take what I can get! hahaha.

The last couple of years ebooks and audios have been my main sources. I can give a million reasons why. Money, space, Covid, and ease of access....just to name a few.

I must thank all my blogging friends...especially Blodeuedd for really getting me into Audio. Not too long ago I was all MEH about that source, but they have gotten me addicted ;)

I do still love paperbooks but mainly I only get the paper versions if I go to a used book sale, gifties from people, or randomly at the grocery store.

TMST: Authors/Books I Just Can't Love

TMSToption2Blue

Tell Me Something Tuesday is a weekly discussion post on Rainy Day Ramblings where Rainy discuss a wide range of topics from books to blogging.

Are there authors/books that everyone seems to love but you don’t?

This is a tough one....but I do have some.

- Stephen King. Not crazy about his works because of his writing style. Too wordy.
- Nora Roberts. She is okay...just super overrated.
- Sarah Maas. I only tried one by her...but ugh, I had an issue with the story.
- 'Anna Karenia'. I could not get through that book. Everyone seems to love it, but alas...not for me.

Just a few I can think of.
