We went to Atlanta to visit family. We had time one day to drop by Sweetwater Creek State Park. Our target bird was the brown-headed nuthatch, a bird we only learned about the morning of our outing. Its distinctive call made it easy to locate but it took a while to get some good views and photos.

We also saw birds that frequented our backyard in New Jersey.
Tufted Titmouse
Carolina Chickadee
White-breadted Nuthatch
After birding, we had great chicken and biscuits with a delicious remoulade sauce at the nearby Milk & Honey restaurant.

Delaware Birds
Mike had business in Delaware and found time to go birding along the Brandywine River in Wilmington. It's not quite spring and the migration hadn't started yet. However, it was fun for him to see all the birds we encountered duringNJ winters. Here are some of the best photos.
Tufted Titmouse
Northern Cardinal
Ring-necked Duck
He also saw a junco, a pair of bufflehead, a chickadee, and a blue jay and heard a white-breasted nuthatch.
