Supercritical Polymer Foams
Unlike common foaming method utilizing Polypropylene, supercritical polymer foam is a physical method without inner chemical reaction. That does not utilize chemical agent, but make polymer foam through supercritical CO₂.
Traditional plastic foaming is a method of mixing foaming agent into polymer materials, making plastic foaming body at accurate temperature, pressure and time. This method can improve material’s weight light, floatability, absorptiveness, cost save and stability.
However, plastic foaming utilizing chloro-fluoro-carbons as foaming agent may destruct ozone layer and cause global warming. So many countries stop using this method. Considering protecting environment, ILSHIN developed supercritical polymer foaming system which utilizes supercritical CO₂as the foaming agent that is harmless to environment. |
