I Scream for Android Ice Cream

it's android again!!!!!
And this time it's the  ICE CREAM series , and it's for SALE!
YES, FOR SALE!

Mint Ice Cream (minty green) SOLD!
Framboise Ice cream (hot pink)SOLD!
Lemon Ice Cream (yellow)
Strawberry Ice Cream (baby pink)
Grape Ice Cream (purple)
Bubblegum Ice Cream (cyan)

definitely not a rainbow.

every android is handknitted by me special for this Lebaran Holiday.
only available one for each color, and it's only 60000 IDR each.
(I don't think it would be available later for pre order or custom order, cause I will be busy doing my next project. so grab it now. NOW)

why it's only 60000? cause it's smaller than the one on the left (IDR200000), and definitelly smaller than the one on the right too (IDR300000) but bigger than the tiny one (IDR 30000).
these Androids it's not an official merchandise from Google's Android (ah someday, I surely get an Android).

*)I'm so desperate in fixing my netbook, that I made a new android doll for my friend in exchange of fixing the netbook. the first attempt to fix it failed, so does the second and the third. So now it's available for adoptions.

Pink Nurita

Octopus in Bahasa Indonesia is Gurita
My friend who asked me to make the blue octopus is Nurita
so let's call the knitted octopus as Nurita collection.

Since I was in the mood for knitting, I made another Nurita in pink.

Cute isn't it?

And you may have your own Nurita in your favorite colors for Rp30.000,00 (shipping cost not included)
I would need a week to make one octopus, and every octopus size is about 4-5cm

Orangutanku #8: Sekar

I just went back from my fun vacation to Bali.
There's a lot of places I haven't go to in Indonesia, but Bali is definitely my favorite.
I could write a loooooong story about my vacation but not in this blog :)

Before went to Bali, I made this special orangutan.
Since Bali is famous for the exotic sunny beach, I made Sekar, the shocking pink orangutan.
Sekar is a nice traveling friend :)
Put her on your bag  and she won't complain, as long as you take her to interesting places.

Sekar waiting for the delayed plane

Kuta Beach, the perfect place to get tanned :)

Sekar prefers hanging at the Kambojas Tree, than hanging out at the club

The beaches are cool, but I don't mind swimming at the lotus pool

Sekar available for adoption for 170000 IDR
15% gained from the adoption will be saved for the OrangUtanku Project
(Updated December 22, 2011 : Sekar now staying with my niece, Kiko)

PS: interested to have another orangutan doll with different color variation? just tell me :)

Orangutanku #7: Hanoman

Almost failed my one amigurumi every week
Not that I didn't have time to make amigurumi,  but because there were a priority list.
anyway, I added a new page here since last month, a W.A.I.D.R.N page,  so you could check what am I currently doing.  Or to be exact what crochet project I am currently doing.

Here's the orangutanku #7: Hanoman,  the white orangutan.
China have Sun Go Kong (a.k.a Sun Wu Kong or Sun Go Ku) the monkey king from Journey to the West.
India have Hanuman from the Ramayana, the epic story, which is also well known in Indonesia.
In Indonesian version, Hanuman is Hanoman or Anoman, the white and mighty monkey.

I knew monkeys are different to apes, orangutan is an ape, not a monkey :)
I made this orangutan doll not based on the Hanoman story, I just wanted to make her white, the name came out later.
The real Hanoman have a black and white checkered cloth and a crown (and have a mighty power of course).

Hanoman the orangutan doll available for adoption for IDR 170000
15% will be saved for the real orangutan at the conservatory

and by the way I'm thinking of making more colorful orangutan dolls, any suggestion?
Because all I think is pink orangutan :p

Orangutanku #6: Upik

This orangutanku project is probably my most ambitious project I ever made.
I meant, making at least 27 dolls for adopting one real orangutan.
Upik is my 7th Orangutanku dolls.  The first orangutanku doll is not available for adoption yet, that's why this post title is Orangutanku #6 not #7.
Honestly, I'm bored of using the same pattern and the same yarns after making my 5th orangutanku dolls.
as you see Felipe has different color combination, now Upik too has another color combination.
I wanted to make her black like the gentle gorilla, but too much black yarns makes my eyes sore.
So I chose gray and black.

And, I made a little experiment, I put Upik in a cage.

She's gone mad, and show some teeth.

err... Okay She's very angry so I released her.

Nothing changed. She still mad at me.
She doesn't trust me anymore.

Lesson learned: Do not keep orangutans or any other wild creatures as domestic pets.
They are belong to the wild, no matter how cute they are.

Upik available for adoption for IDR215000,
15% will be saved for the real orangutan adoption

Flamingo in my garden

I love pink very much that I want a Pink Flamingo in my garden!
of course a real pink flamingo in the garden would be the biggest joke for me.
First, I'm allergic to birds' feathers
Second, I'm afraid of birds (such as swans, gooses, ducks, turkeys, chickens and flamingos)
Third, I have dogs.

So I made a Pink Flamingo in a mini garden :)
Perfect solution for me, at least this flamingo won't bite me.
I made her wings using felt, and my fingers hurt because of sewing it.

This flamingo is made specially for myself, but if you want one for your desk,
I would gladly make a new one for 20 USD (expensive, because I have to deal with my own phobia)

OrangUtanku #5: Felipe

I cheated, this is not really an orangutan because of its colors.
Let's say Felipe is a far relative of the orangutans, and He wants to help the orangutans too.
I just finished Felipe last night during Worldcup match Brazil Vs Netherland
Before the game started, I said to my sister that I would name the Orangutan after the first player who get a red card.
My favorite teams, France and all the Asian teams have lost the game, so I was not picking any side anymore, just watching.

What the real Felipe did during the last game was silly, suicide goal and red card, and I was kinda worry about naming this orangutan after him.
But after doing some googling, I found that Felipe is a good player (come on He is from the Brazil team!), no matter how bad his reputation now, I hope he will do better in the future :)

Back to the star here, Felipe the orangutan is available for adoption for 170000 IDR
This Felipe is supporting the Orangutanku project too, so 15% from the adoption gains will be donated to the real Orangutan
If you don't like Felipe's, just give him a cuter and lovable new name once he is yours
tho I think Felipe is still a good name :)

BTW, real orangutans not always eating bananas, they eat mostly fruits even durians (yup, that stinky fruit!), and sometimes they eat insects as proteins.

UPDATE (07/07/2010):  Felipe has found his new home!!! I'll make an update later about the 15% for the real orangutan

The duridurirams

Do you remember about this sneak peek I made last month?
I was waiting for my online store opening (let's say etsy), but due to many problems, it won't happen any sooner :(
So...I don't think I have no reason to make you wait any longer to meet the Duridurirams

"We are Duridurirams, the smiling cactus in pot"

"What we do is just smile and stand sti...Where's the Yellow Duriduriram?"

"ehm.. well One of us get bored of standing still"

"I meant, some of us get bored sometimes"

"No, actually standing still in a pot is boring!"

"Why do we have to stay still in pots while we can go and hanging out?"

There are 5 Duridurirams with 5 different flowers (pink, purple, green, yellow, and blue)
All made by cotton yarn, clay teeth, and plastic eyes
they are about 6cm height and very light
The Duridurirams are available for adoption for 70000 IDR/ each
they don't really like to stay in pots, but you'll get free pot for every Duridurirams adoption :)

and guess what? there's a cute pouch as a bonus for every doll adoption,
exclusively made by my Mom :)

OrangUtanku #4: Jerry

Do you remember Ginanjar?
Jerry is Ginanjar's Brother

Made by exactly same ingredient and same amount of love.
let's say, they are same species, and there will be more Orangutan dolls like them.

But handmade dolls are never identical, Jerry is very special

He was born as a clown, the kind one, not the scary one :)
Jerry is an active and acrobatic Orangutan.
Jerry has a slightly problem with his eyes, but it doesn't stop him from swinging from trees to trees.

He's rarely go down from the trees, but He would be more than happy to stay with you for 90000 IDR (adoption fee, 10% belongs to the real Orangutan at the conservatory)

Ginanjar

Hmm.. maybe I'm being bad. (definitely I am)
I think this orangutan's face looked like one of my dearest friend.
And we used to say that she looked like Ginanjar, an actor/comedian.
Well I won't name the orangutan with my friend's name, so let's call the orangutan Ginanjar :)

see? his eyes are so Ginanjar-ish!
Ginanjar the Orangutan has a good sense of humor too

Ginanjar available for adoption for 150000 IDR
Get him fast, Ginanjar is famous :)
10% gained from the adoption will be saved for the real orangutan

PS: Dear friend, so sorry if you read this, I miss you to much, I see your face everywhere :-P

OrangUtanku #2: Orange

Meet Orange, the soft and kindhearted Orangutan.
She's a little bit shy but She's get along with people well.

She has black round eyes
She was made using imported Korean Yarn (they didn't tell me what its name)
The yarn was worsted to make it softer
She is 10 cm tall from the head to bottom (sitting position)
and 16 cm wide from arm to arm
Her color is the most similar to the orangutan character design on my animation.
The name Orange is taken from the animation character's name.

She's available for adoption for 200000 IDR
15% goes to the real Orangutan via BOS Foundation
