Vintage Holiday Card with Guest Designer Dana Tatar

Hi Zeus and Zoe fans! Former design team member Dana here today sharing a Christmas card that I created with the Zeus and Zoe Green with Envy Embellishment Kit. You can find similar kits HERE. I layered pieces of vintage newspaper and sheet music and a vintage postcard onto an embossed card base. I loved the image on the postcard and decided to play up the green and purple color palette for a non-traditional holiday card.

I topped my festive embellishment cluster with a stamped sentiment that I cut from a vintage book page. I just love the look of aged paper!

I finished my card with some decorative chipboard and a vintage inspired key.

Here is a peek of the gorgeous Green with Envy Kit! If you're looking for something specific, or have a favorite color that you like to work with, contact Marivic and she'll put together a kit personalized to your specific tastes and needs!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I wish you and yours all the best this holiday season!

Guest designer Valia Katzaki's beautiful canvases...

Hello! This is Valia Katzaki to show you some canvases I created using Zeus and Zoe’s yummy products.

At first here is a canvas about my sweet baby boy. I primed the canvas with gesso, and then painted it with Ingvild Bolme’s chalk inks, which I love. I painted random areas, then misted the canvas with water and I blended the colors with a sponge. This also creates bubbles that add to the texture when dry.

After that, I used a stencil and modeling paste to create the top left design.

I used the gorgeous Manor House creations flowers to surround my photo of my boy. I added some stamping and chipboard elements and my canvas was done!

The next two canvases are 6*6 and are meant to decorate my daughter’s bedroom. For the first one, I applied a thick coat of crackle paste and let dry overnight.

After that I misted with TA mists and painted in random areas with Ingvild Bolme’s chalk inks.

I placed my flowers on top left and used Marivic’s luscious buttons to fill my cluster. I also used a vintage flower card but in a non-traditional way. I fussy cut the lilac flowers and used them in my cluster.

At last, I painted my daughter’s initial with thick acrylic gold paint.

The second canvas was first covered with gesso and then painted with distress inks for a subtle effect. After that I placed a doily mask on my canvas and painted it roughly with gold acrylic paint. I didn’t mean for an exact impression in order to add to the shabby look.

I altered my flowers using gold acrylic paint to match the Zeus and Zoe gold buttons.

I arranged my flowers and again I used the gorgeous gold buttons to highlight my cluster.

I hope you liked my canvases! Thank you so much Marivic for having me as a Guest DT!

October Guest Designer...Valia

"My name is Valia Katzaki and I am a scrapper from Greece. I started scrapping a couple of years ago and it was love at first sight. I consider my style to be shabby chic but I believe that each scrapper is always evolving, so I like to try new techniques and materials. I love creating LOs with lots of flowers and embellishments but I try to keep a masculine approach - after all I am a boy's mom! Visit me at:

I will show you a layout I made using Marivic's lovely tag. I have a thing for vintage babies and as soon as I saw the tag in my favorite color, I knew how I would use it. I printed in sepia a photo of my youngest son and placed it above the tag. I surrounded it with flowers and I used lace between the two papers, materials that were already on the tag, in order to achieve harmony on my page. On the left of my page I did some masking with modeling paste. At first I placed my mask on top of the paper, I secured it with some washi tape and then inked with Broken China distress ink. Immediately after that I placed a generous amount of light modeling paste on my mask and with circular motions I rub it on my design. Thus, the modeling paste gets colored from my ink and the generous amount of paste creates uneven heights in my masked design. On the bottom left a small cluster was made of the same elements, for balance. I hope you like it!"

Valia will be back later on this month to show you other projects she made for Zeus and Zoe.

Thank you Valia!! We love your page!!

Welcome to our September GD..Emmy van de Heuvel

My name is Emilia van den Heuvel and I’m a Bulgarian girl, living and working out of the Netherlands. I grew up in the beautiful capital of Bulgaria – Sofia and being a city girl is kind of in my blood. My mom filled our house with books and painting and art journals and she thought me to love all things crafty and artsy.
Before I moved to the Netherlands to be with my husband, I was working as a vet and now I’m a part-time translator, a full-time mommy to my amazing munchkins – Theo and Elise and a passionate crafter. In my spare time you will find me behind my crafty table, reading a book or visiting the next magical place with my family.
I started scrapbooking in 2004 after my first child was born. I think it is the perfect way of preserving our memories. Every single one of my pages is telling a story, which will always remind my children who they are and who we were as a family.
If you wish to see more of my creations, please visit my blog: http://few-favourite-things.blogspot.nl/
Here is Emilia's project for Zeus and Zoe

I started with a while cardstock, a masking template and a doily stamp. To mask the large doily on my background I used Panpastels. Then I stamped the smaller doily with Jenni Bowlin "Lemon Drops" Acrilic Pain Dabber {incl. in my kit}.
After it was dry, I drew the frame around it and spattered a bit of Glimmer Mist to create the artsy effect.

After it was dry, I drew the frame around it and spattered a bit of Glimmer Mist to create the artsy effect.

Then I begun arranging my papers. I layered the picture on a few layers of pattern paper and distressed their edges.

I colored the large white ribbon from my kit with the yellow paint dabber and added it under the picture. My main goal was to create a layout to display the wonderful hand made tag, by using matching embellishments and similar colors {all combined in a beautiful kit from Marivic}.

I cut out the small fabric flowers from piece of ribbon and added a pearl in the middle.

To finish off my page I used washi tape and a lot of pearls and die-cut swirls.

First I covered my base with Jenni Bowlin "Lemon Drops" Acrilic Pain Dabber. Then, using the Spellbinders Gold Labels die I cut three layers of patter paper. I adhered the first two layers with 3d tape to the card base and I cut out the middle part of the smallest one to achieve a window-like effect. Then I adhered the lovely embroidery from my kit and cut out the excessive part.

I added flowers, chippies and glitter glue to finish off my design.

THANK YOU EMMY! WE LOVE YOUR WORK!!

My favourite things: Creative inspiration by guest designer Debbie Burns

Hi! My name is Debbie Burns and I am so excited to guest design this month for Zeus and Zoe.  Thanks Marivic for inviting me! I am currently on the design team for Berry71bleu, sister site of Zeus and Zoe. I live in Maryland with my
two children ages 23 and 26 and one precious dog. I started scrapbooking 13 years ago after I received a completed scrapbook album "all about me" for my birthdayI took one beginners scrapbook class and the rest is history.  I don't really have a defined style, as all of my layouts are different, but I do love to layer and cluster, flowers and butterflies being my favorite. I would love for you to stop by my blog Love Life's Little Pleasures.

I love June's theme, My Favourite Things, hosted by Denise and Norma.  For those of you that know me, I have quite the love for flower gardening.  I love this time of the year.  My flower beds are full of perennials and I fill in the bare spots with annuals.  My favorite annuals are Geraniums, thus the focus of my layout.

Marivic sent me a few goodies to work with.  One being the Emporium Tag die from Couture Creations.  Here I have used it in a few spots.

I also worked with some Magical powder, Ghostly Gargoyle White by Lindy's Stamp Gang.  I mixed the power with some water and lightly brushed it on the little pink roses.

I did some masking on my background, using the Circular Lattice mask by Prima and added some ink, and misting.

Here is a closeup of my cluster:

I hope I have inspired you!  Thanks Marivic for having me!

Bellaidea Guest DT for June

Welcome to one of our Guest Designers this month..

My name is Agnieszka but in the scrapbooking world I go by Bellaidea.
Together with my husband - I'm still dating him - we're taking care of our two treasures - a girl and a boy.

I love traveling, taking photos, oranges and African bush aroma, , old books, pictures and houses, doilies, trips with friends to Italy, evenings by the fireplace, mystery perfumes, reading books to my children (even though they can read by themselves), audiobooks during long distance drives, praising people for their talent and creativity and meeting with other nice ladies for a cup of coffee.

My favorite place to spend great time is Kruger Park and Zimbali in South Africa.
I scrapbook for many reasons- to preserve memories, to make my kids remember I always care about them, to have MY time when I need it, to keep in touch with all my scrap-friend all over the world. My style is ecletic , part of romantic, touch of whimsy, influenced by mixed media a lot. You will find on my projects; lace, chipboards, doilies, torned corners, fussy cutting, etc.. but I never forget the most important is the photo and a story. Sometimes I hide my journaling when it`s very personal...

Last couple of years I had a pleasure to design for many blog challenges and producers like Scrap FX, Berry 71 Bleu, Scraps of Elegance, 13 arts, studio 75,  Papercraft Scandinavia and Magenta .

I cordially invite you to my blog, where you can find out what I'm doing at late night when my family members are sleeping: Bellaideascrapology

I used Donna Salazar papers and stickers, love those colors!
I added couple flowers from Inkido and fantastic chipboards from Scrapiniec.
Thank you again!
