Peluang musnah...

One might be wondering kenapa lah tetiba aku tanya pasal hawkers stall kat penang... it's a sad story... aku terlepas peluang pertama aku untuk pergi buat fieldwork shooting... :-(

cerita nya mcm ni, minggu sudah ada producer kat operation dept bercadang buat program kat Penang berkaitan street food and nak cuba dapatkan chef dr malaysia... dia tanya aku sapa paling popular, aku bg tahu lah chef no 1 kat malaysia. dia pun buat research pasal chef tu and agree utk ambil chef wan as a guest... aku pun volunteer lah nak carikan contact utk chef ni... and dapat no hp dia... :-)

last sunday, dia masuk office cakap, akhirnya dia dpt cakap ngan chef and chef agreed to appear kat dalam show. and aku tumpang gembira je lah... but petang tu dia kata, why not aku join sekali shooting tu... and the director pun agree and cost aku masuk dalam bajet...

since aku bukan dalam operation department, director tu hantar email minta permission dr boss arab dept aku.. aku patiently tunggu sbb the director wanted to deal directly with my boss... tp tanpa membuang masa cuba lah buat research skit2 termasuk lah minta idea kat blog ni... setelah 2 hari tak de reply dr boss aku, director operation suruh aku rush boss... (rupanya aku dapat tahu, my dept head ni blh tanya org bawahan dia whether ok ke tak aku pergi???)

pagi tadi, aku jumpa lah boss aku n tanya apa citer? dia kata should be ok... nanti dia confirm kan thru email. tp sampai tengahari, no email and bajet perlu diapprove dah and the director operation terpaksa decide aku tak dapat pergi :-( sejam lepas tu br lah my boss hantar email cakap yg dia ok if i go tp kena dapat permission from my boss's boss (director of the dept) yg tak masuk office sampai ahad. too late...

bajet dah approve without my name in it :-( and aku terpaksa melupakan angan2 aku untuk pergi turun padang buat shooting... memahami secara langsung apa itu production... hilang peluang aku balik malaysia... dan hilang peluang aku try makan2 kat penang... semua nya sbb birokrasi orang lain... kelembapan orang lain... am so sad...

best sungguh aku berangan dah... this is the second time peluang aku utk buat keje luar terbantut... aku tak paham kenapa susah sangat utk arab2 ni nak approve aku keluar... mungkin sbb depa takde peluang kot... ntah lah.. harap2 ada peluang lain satu masa nanti...

CNY BBQ dinner...

it's been ages since the last time aku citer pasal makan2 kat blog ni... hehehe.... selalunya dulu tiap2 minggu... hehehe... in fact tahun ni masih belum ada lagi makan-makan.... so secara sukarela aiyeen family menjemput kitaorg buat bbq kat umah dia... lagipun parents depa dah nak balik semula ke Malaysia next week, so kiranya makan-makan terakhir lah ngan kitaorg...

hehehe... dan we've chosen, mlm CNY (kat malaysia lah, sini mana ada celebrate CNY, kebetulan je) asalnya aiyeen nak jemput skit2 je... hehehe tapi manalah blh buat skit2 kan.. :-)

so apa in the menu... hmm... since dah lama tak makan2 ni, masing2 nak contribute :-) tuan rumah ngan bihun, superdelicious ayam percik, nasi lemak last minute dan ikan pari bakar yg sedap giler :-) dan yang lain2 bawak ketam, ribs, udang dan of course dessert satu meja... pelbagai kuih, bubur, salad dan kek yummy... makanan giler2 banyak... ooh, and che' le siap bawak kaki kambing 3 batang... :-)

dan mana boleh makan-makan kat umah aiyeen without aktiviti lain selain dari makan... aizal br beli meja pingpong... so apa lagi, main ping pong lah... plus, as meraikan pak mertuanya, sesi karaoke lah.. seperti biasa... yg habis jam 1am!!! :-) dan surprise2... sapa buka gelanggang... we found out new vocalist... Adam... tapi kan, masih tak jumpa lagi vocalist wanita... ramai je akak2 yg datang tp tak sapa nak sumbangkan vocal...

setelah lama tak buat makan2... seronok betul jumpa group kitaorang ni, masa makan-makan lah baru nak jumpa... and since semua contribute skit-skit... punya lah banyak food... and all supremely delicious!!! bila lah nak buat makan2 lagi.. nak try plak total indoor bbq lah plak :-)

Revalue of QR???

I've highlighted about this before in this entry... de-peg??? Revalue??? but until now... no news about it...

However, in today's newspaper... ada some hint on it... :-)

UAE likely to revalue currency: Report Tuesday, February 05, 2008

DUBAI • The United Arab Emirates is likely to revalue its currency against the flagging dollar in a bid to bring down inflation and meet criteria for a single Gulf currency, an industry report said yesterday.

It is "most likely that the UAE central bank will revalue the dirham against the US dollar in line with other GCC currencies," the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) said.

hmm.. if UAE do it, there's more possibility Qatar will follow... i really hope for it!!! oooh if you wanna read the news, click here... peninsula

Membaca amalan mulia... :-)

Aku rasa the last time aku membaca buku/novel dari front page til the end was in 2006, The Da Vinci Code dan Angels and Demon. Selain buku related to my exam (btw, i've failed my December exam very badly, not thinking to re-sit until am totally prepared), aku rasa dah lama benar aku tak membaca buku. baik buku ilmiah, or buku motivasi, or novel... currently my reading material cuma online newspapers dan kenkadang magazine Qatar Today, and travel guides (boleh terima ke?).. and can we consider blog as a reading material... sungguh tak berilmiah... hahaha...

Reading was my only hobby masa kecik-kecik dulu... tapi lepas habis study, aku rasa macam aku dah malas membaca. semlm aku bersembang ngan my company's chairman legal adviser, and discuss abt economy and middle east, nampak sangat kurang my knowledge pasal tu. nampak sangat that i know the surface of it. rasa betul-betul inferior.

so as a start, i need to find good books yg boleh inspired me to read. baik fiction or non-fiction, buku agama or buku novel, or buku motivasi. Anyone of you read a very good book lately? my target is to finish a book in at least 2 weeks... thats approximately 26 books a year... (since tahun ni dah habis 4 minggu so 24 books je lah, cukup tak?). I've chosen a book regarding my current company to start with. so for you out there, please suggest me a very good book that i should read. :-) but not those books yg dah or will ada filem like the kite runner, harry porter, pride n prejudice, or even devil wears prada... hehehe.. i would rather watch the movie...
