Video Tutorial: Funky French with Tickle my Triangle & Dionisio

The other day was really sunny and I needed a quick manicure so I picked one of my favorite polish I own. I got this polish from Kvacka (thank you :h) and I still can't believe I finally own it. I'm talking about Tickle my Triangle from Kaleidoscope collection. I'm so happy I own this one and How about a Tumble.
Sun
I added 3 thin coats, it dries super fast and it looks gorgeous! Of course you have to take blurry pictures to capture rainbow but it's still way too beautiful in person. :L

Sun - blurry
China Glaze - Tickle my Triangle / 3 coats

Then I decided to experiment with my phone again so I tried to film how I usually do a funky french. I change an angle of filming so I hope you can see better. I use striping tape for any kind of french manicure, because it gives reall precise line on tips.

Only problem now was editing text, because I didn't realize it doesn't show up great because of the too bright lightning and white text isn't really visible.I could change it but it took almost 8 hours to upload on YouTube and I don't have patience to wait again. :/

And a picture...

Letme know what do you think about this video! As always, I would love to hear your feedback! :h Thanks for reading!

Original Signature

I'm too lazy to change my manicure often so I try different layering or stamping. The weather is just perfect to dig out some holos. :L

Both, Original & Signature are unfortunately discontinued and HTF, so I don't use them much. Both are a bit sheer so they're perfect for layering. <3 I layered them over my last two colored manicure I showed you here. :D.

I love how Original looks over blue. :L  I need to find a perfect combination to recreate OPI's Glamour, which I still want. ^_^

What's your all time favorite holographic nail polish? :rainbow Thanks for reading!

Atena the Holographic Goddess

It's June but the weather is nothing like it. And when I woke up into sunny day, I knew what I'll be wearing next days. :)
Blurry photos show the real thing... :rainbow
Sun
OPI Nail Envy Nail Strengthener
Hits No Olimpo - Atena /  / 1 coat

Atena is a bit sheer so I decided to layer it over a berry creme and save some holo goddess for next time. :L The only downside of Atena is that it's not B3F so it stinks so bad but okay, I looove holos like this. ^_^

Do you like Atena? :)

Framed Nails

Few days ago I got another awesome package from Born Pretty Store, so I had to try the goodies right away. :)

I'm really loving framed nails and I already did them once, you can see them here, where I used just plain black and holographic silver glitter. So now I decided to do them again but this time with gold glitter. This method is kind of time-consuming, but it definitely looks good. :)

The pictures aren't the best, because the weather here is nothing like June should be. xo

I got this cute container full of gold hexagonal holographic glitter (you can find it here, also available in different colors and shapes). It looks like a treasure when you open the container. :L To easily pick the glitter on toothpick, I drop some of the glitter into the lid.

I love this kind of glitter because it's flat and it doesn't bother me as much as rhinestones. So when you add a layer of top coat, the surface is almost smooth.

I started with 2 coats of China Glaze - Traffic Jam. I picked it because it has a really great formula and I already tried it with gold glitter and it looked gorgeous, so I decided to use it again. :L I did one nail at a time. When the second layer was still wet, I simply picked one by one glitter and placed it on the nail. If I was too slow and the surface was already dry, I added a top coat and made the surface wet and sticky again.
 OPI Nail Envy Nail Strengthener
China Glaze - Traffic Jam / 2 coats
Gold Holographic Hexagonal Glitter
Beauty Secrets TC Fast Finish Polish Dryer

They do start falling off eventually, I'd suggest you to add 2 coats of top coat to really seal them on the nails, but even when a few of them are missing, it doesn't bothering me, it still looks as great as before. Unless you're really trying to find where they're missing. xD

Here's a closer look of the glitter! <3 I told you it looks like a treasure! :L

The container looks small but I'm not even sure if I'll ever hit the bottom of this container. :D Don't forget to use code J10X31 to get 10% off on your order. ;)

It looks like I'm having just a plain berry on my nails but there's still something going on my nails. :P
Flash
Let me know if you like framed nails and my combination. :) I'm really in love with them, I just need to practice how to make perfect framed nails with a creme nail polish. I already tried it once and it looked great but I choose a horrible color combination. :D And I only did my left hand, because I'm not really sure if I'm able to hold the striping brush in my left hand and make some perfect lines. ^_^

Have a lovely week and thanks for reading!

Ludurana - Maravilhosa

The winners of BM's contest are already announced and my zebra print wasn't one of them. :( Oh well, more luck next time, but I would like to congrats to all the winners and thanks to you who voted for me, that means a lot to me, I can't even say how much! :h

But I still have something beautiful to show you for today. :) I wore it a week ago and I loved it! <3

Ludurana Maravilhosa is a blue toned light pink holographic nail polish I got from Brazil. <3 It looked so boring in shade, but it blew my mind on sun. :L
Sun
I was so surprised it looked so perfect after 3 days of wearing, because I'm used to major chips when I wear a holo. :)
Sun
Anyway, rainbow was much prettier in person :rainbow , that's when the blurry picture is more than welcome. :)
Sun - Blurry
Ludurana - Maravilhosa / 2 coats

Isn't this just beautiful? I really love everything about holo, so keep them coming! :D What's your favorite holo? Did you already get any of these stunning polishes from Brazil? :)

Have a lovely day and thanks for reading! :rainbow

China Glaze - How about a Tumble

I officially opened a season for holos! :e

It's such a lovely warm and sunny day (like it's already Summer and few days ago was cold like hell :/ ) here so I decided to wear a holo. :) I got quite a few of them during the winter so I decided to wait for sunny days so I can enjoy the rainbow on a strong sun. :rainbow

It's time for How about a Tumble today. I got this polish from Carolina, who kindly bought it for me from Pretty and Polished's blog sale. I'm so happy she bought it for me, because this one was definitely one of my biggest lemmings! :L

It's part of China Glaze's Kaleidoscope Collection, which was released back in 2006 I think and unfortunately has been discontinued and HTF. :/ You can still find them here and there so if you have a chance, don't think twice. :) How about a Tumble is light purple with scattered holographic finish. It's a bit on a sheer side so I added 3 thin coats. Dries really fast and it really looks amazing!

I love when the polish looks nothing special on daylight...
Daylight
But they blow my mind when I see them on sun!

Sun
Well even this picture doesn't show all the prettiness, so I had to take some blurry pics like these. :P

Sun - Blurry
 OPI Nail Envy Nail Strengthener
China Glaze - How about a Tumble / 3 coats

Now you can imagine how the rainbow looks in person, but believe me, it's even prettier than this, the rainbow is deeper and just stunning! :L

What do you think about Kaleidoscope collection? :) Do you have any of them? Do you like scattered holographics or linear?

Have a lovely weekend and thanks for reading! :rainbow

Polka Dot with Wild at Heart & Fashion Addict

I have one simple manicure for today. I wore it for few days and after I removed it I had to shorten my nails. :D But you saw my short nubs in my previous post. :P

I did Polka Dot manicure with WAH ages ago but this time I used Wild as Heart as a base. :D
Color Club - Wild at Heart & Fashion Addict
I made dots with Fashion Addict (unfortunately I don't have a holographic version of this beauty :( ) and a dotting tool. Easy and quick. :D

What do you think? Do you like Polka Dot pattern? I love it, because it's such a cute pattern! :) I have an image plate with dots but it's much easier to make dots with a dotting tool, at least for me. They're not super perfect but I'm still happy with the final result.

Have a lovely weekend dear readers and followers and thanks for reading! <3

Color Club - Wild at Heart

Finally it's time for nails! :) The other day I wanted to paint my nails but I just couldn't decide what to wear. So I tweeted and lovely Maria from Nails Made Simple suggested this one! Maria and Iris from Polish Amor ♥ are doing Twinsie Friday every week so for this Friday they choose Wild at Heart. You should all check how they use WAH. :)

I already tried Wild at Heart when I made my first Ruffian manicure but I never wore it alone, so I'm happy I finally did. Wild at Heart from Color Club is a dark violet  holografic polish and it's one coater! I did my both hands in few minutes what made me even more happy! :e I can work on my manicure for hours but sometimes I just don't have patience so onecoaters always make me happy.

I fell in love with this polish - again and I'm so happy I own it! <3 What do you think? Do you have it? :)

I know Maria loves Carmelo aka Bebo so I decided to include a photo of him I took yesterday. :) It's so sunny here so he's spending a lot of time outside on our balcony playing, catching bees, ants,... Well everything that moves around.

Hope you're having a great weekend dear readers and followers and thanks for reading! This is my 401st post I published on this blog, I can't believe this! :o Time flies by just too fast and I should post more often. We'll see, as always I'll do my best. :)

I framed my nails with a sparkly glitter!

Thanks for the lovely comments on my previous post and all suggestions you gave me are now on "to do list". :) It's absolutely great to hear what you think about my blog, what would you love to see from me, so it definitely gave me some ideas about my posts. :)

I was seeing manicure like this on Tumblr a couple of times and I was really interested to do it once. I actually did it once with studs but when I wanted them to seal with a TC the color came off and my manicure was ruined. But when genius Deniz from Emerald Sparkle did this manicure, I knew I should try it too. :D This is the manicure I'm still wearing and although I still have some swatches of two gorgeous polishes to show you, I need to show this one first. :i

I got so many compliments on this manicure, which always made my day. <3 It's so easy to make it, well all you need is a little bit of patience. :D First I didn't know what base color to pick but then I remembered Elsa's tweet that she would love to see a black mani with silver glitter. First I wanted to sponge a silver glitter but I really wanted to try this manicure out so I decided for black base and holographic glitter, I hope I won't disappoint you Elsa. :)

I started with a coat of Wet n Wild - Black Créme, best black polish ever. :) I didn't have patience to frame my nails with silver first so I decided to just place hexagonal silver holographic glitter around... I got glitter sample from Viva La Nails ages ago and I can't find them on their web page, but here you can see the glitters they have available at the moment. I'm not sure if they're thin like these I have but some colors really caught my attention. I prefer glitter over rhinestones, because they're thinner and the surface of a nail isn't bumpy as it would be with rhinestones.

I took a toothpick, put a layer of top coat and started placing the glitter around my nails. I was quickly done with my left hand but I have struggled a bit with my right hand, but I managed to place them as neatly as I could and I was very excited to see the lovely result. :)

I like it better in person as on photos. :D My phone definitely see clearer than me, because those empty spots between glitter aren't so obvious and one of the line looks wonky but in person it looks just fine. :D It's so sparkly in person, I tried to show you all the rainbow going on on blurry picture but it's even more sparkly in person. :)

Let me know what do you think about these kinds of manicures. :) I love it this way but once I would love to have perfect framed nails just with nail polish but I think my hand isn't steady enough for perfect lines like that. :)

Thanks for reading!

Holiday Guest Post #11: Nailside

Are you already tired of guesposts? Hope you're not, because I'm still not finished. I love all posts I published and I've few more to come. :e

We're having Jane from Nailside here today. Yap, the girl who can rock schotch tape manicures like nobody. How many times I tried to do something like she showed us in her tutorial posts on her blog but I failed miserably - or the polish isn't 100% dry and I smudge everything or my lines aren't perfect like hers. 8) Let's see what has she prepared for us. :)

Hello Ivana Thinks Pink readers! Of course I immediately said yes when Ivana asked me to make a guest post for her blog. I spotted her perfect manis a long time before I started blogging myself, so being here is an incredible honor :-)

Ivana recently told me that she liked the heart design so much from an Essence stamping plate that I’d shared on my blog, so that’s what I used in this mani. At first I wanted a coral pink from Essence for the base color, which coincidentally is named Think Pink! :-D But because my camera is terrible at capturing corally pinks (it makes them look very orange) I decided to go for something even better: a pink holo, I know how much Ivana likes those! ;-) I picked Smooth from the brand Teeez, which Ivana’s already showed you before in a super cute funky French mani. I love how easy it applies and only two smooth coats later I was ready to stamp the heart design with black. I don't have a lot of stamping experience, but this design was pretty okay to work with. And it's so girly, love it ^^

And this brings us to the end of my guest post, I hope you enjoyed it :-)

Thanks for having me Ivana! :-* And may your hand heal soon because we really miss seeing your beautiful nails here!

<3 Sooo pretty! <3 This plate is a must have! :) I'm so honoured you pick this pattern and lovely holo for today's post Jane. :L Yap, she knows what I love for sure. :h I can't believe you still remeber that Funky French manicure I did months ago. :) So sweet of you! I'm honoured for having you here, because you're just amazing. :h

Do you already spotted this lovely stamping plate from Essence? It comes in a set with stamper and scraper. What do you think about this lovely combination? For slovenians readers: Did you already spot this plate in store? If so, where? :)

In case you never saw Jane's amazing schotch tape manicures, you must check her blog at Nailside and subscribe now! Please tell me I'm not the only one who tried to do a mani inspired by here and failed? Or am I just the only one who can't deal with tape? :P

Have a lovely weekend dear readers and followers and thanks for reading! Btw I changed the header of my blog, let me know what do you think! :)

23 & Holiday Guest Post #7: Pink Polish Addict &

It's my B-day today! :party I turned 23 today, I feel old - not old old but growing up and I want to be a kid like forever. :$ I had a lovely day with a friend, we went to see firework in my town and had a lovely dinner. :e

 Cupcakes for everyone! :e :party

My nails are still naked, well with a coat of base coat, but Marketta made so lovely manicures just for my B-day. I wish we were closer, so she could do same manis on me. :) She runs a blog at Pink Polish Addict and yap, you guessed, I found a pink soulmate. :P

HAPPY BIRTHDAY IVANA! Ok now that I've said that I will introduce myself lol. My name is Marketta from Pink Polish Addict. I offered to do Ivana's birthday post for her today while her beauties are on hiatus, and she's recovering. I love me some Ivana, you know why? She's my pink enabler, and the sweetest person like EVER! I have been reining in the pink on my blog (I have TONS of pink) but she told me let loose, I sure don't hold back! So I'm going to start letting the pink out full force. This post is a day late because I had a bit of a dramatic day and I'm visiting my family for the holidays and they are a bit far out, so I have been a bit technology deprived. First up is NOPI All Kendall-ed Up which is a dark hot pink creme. I used 2 coats of AKU, special white polish, Bundle Monster ip's bm205-bm14-bm03, Seche Vite, and INM Northern Lights. I keep forgetting that I have nubbins now and I don't have as much room for multi-stamping fun so there's a bit much going on. This represents what I want Ivana to get tons of today: Presents, Love, and Cake! I just love the light holo that NL gives, it adds the perfect pop.

I know that Ivana loves some glitter, so of course I couldn't forget about the glitta! Below is 3 coats of Sally Hansen Gem Crush: Lady Luck. Lady Luck has a clear base packed with dark pink glitter, and bigger holo glitter. IRL this polish is gorgeous and I couldn't capture its true beauty.

Thanks for letting me share 2 mani's Ivana and I hope you had the most amazing birthday ever!

Kisses
Marketta

Aren't these totally my colors???? <3 I just knew I will like them. <3 Thank you so much for your lovely words Marketta, you're so sweet and of course for doing my b-day manis. <3 I thought I don't need this Sally Hansen Gem Crush but now... I will have to think about it again. :i

Be sure you'll check Marketta's blog Pink Polish Addict, but don't worry if you don't like pink like we do, her favorite color is also blue but she can work any color on this planet with her lovely nails. :L

Let me know what do you think about these 2 lovely pink manicure and thanks for reading! I had a lovely day behind me and I got an amaaazing package today and I can't wait to show you all the goodies I got. :i Polish is the best gift for sure. <3

XOXO,
Ivana :k

Holiday Guest Post #6: Colores de Carol

More guest nails. :e All ladies are so nice! :)

We're having Carolina from Colores de Carol here today. :) I just love Carolina, she's so nice and sweet lady. We made lot of swaps, my WL would be so longer now without your help, thank you soo much! :h She's always showing her talent with creating so many different manicures, let's see what she's prepared for us today. :)

I am super happy to be here today, Ivana's blog has a very special place in my heart because she is the sweetest girl in the world and she's always featuring the most beautiful pink manicures I've ever seen. I was so flattered when Ivana asked me to do a guest post for her readers,I hope you enjoy this manicure I did for you.

For this look I used Rock Solid from Orly, a gunmetal grey with shimmer and holo glitter, then I stamped with Special polish White Pearl using IP Konad M69.

Thank you very much Ivana for having me over here.

Feel better soon...
Love,
Carolina

Another great combination! Holographic glitter really makes it special. <3 This Zebra would be so fancy with holographic glitter. :P I'm sure you all know Carolina but of course, if not, you don't know what are you missing! Check her blog now - Colores de Carol. <3

Thanks for reading and let me know what do you think about this lovely manicure! :)

Step by Step: Pink & Black Half Moon Manicure

I always wanted to try half moon manicure but I never made it perfect to show you the final result. I thought that I could make it free hand just like ruffians I tried before but I'm not that good at it at all. xD

I made almost perfect half moons with reinforcement rings, I just wish my nails were longer for this look. Next time I'll try to make half moons smaller. :) You can use reinforcement rings, you can try to freehand it or use a small nail art brush... As you wish. :)

I used a lovely purple holographic Catherine Arley with number 677, which I got in a swap recently from lovely Nina from Women's Temptations and classic black creme. :) I'll show you swatches of the holographic one next time, first I wanted to share my first half moon try and a quick tutorial. :P

All pictures below were taken under daylight bulb and black background.

Catherine Arley - #677 / 2 coats
Beauty Secrets TC Fast Finish Polish Dryer

I decided to make a step by step tutorial with smaller half moons as I did them on the pictures above. :)

All you need is a base and top color, reinforcment rings and top coat. I used these polishes:

Catherine Arley - #677
Reinforcement rings
Beauty Secrets TC Fast Finish Polish Dryer

Step 1: Start with a base color you want. It can be bright or dark, anything you like. I suggest that you try to do a half moon manicure on a day or more old manicure, because you don't have to wait base color to dry. That's how you can also hide a tip wear or any chips that happen in days and get new manicure with an upgrade.
Step 2: Place reinforcement ring where you want your half moon to be when the base color is 100% dry. If you want smaller half moons, place it more towards cuticle and reverse. I always use just half of the ring, because I can have 1 ring for 2 nails. Just make sure you rub the ring a little hard, to make sure that ring is completely down.
Step 3: Add a layer of top color all over your nail and a little over reinforcement ring to make a half moon line.
Step 4: Remove the reinforcement ring right after you apply your second color when it's still wet. You can make some tiny correction with the brush after you remove it if the line isn't perfect but if you're satisfied with the half moon, finish the whole manicure with a layer of top coat and you're done.

I'm not the first one who made this manicure like this but I still wanted to do a tutorial if you didn't know about it. :) What do you think about Half Moon manicures? What's your favorite color combination? How do you make your half moons look perfect? :)

I just broke my daylight bulb and I almost throw down my lap top. Thankfully my lappie is in one piece but I need to get another daylight bulb soon. :) I'm also seeing the anesthesiologist in the morning so he can tell me when I'm having a tiny surgery on my wrist to remove ganglyon cyst. I have a big lump on my wrist now and it started hurting me when I'm using my right hand so I had to do something. Wish me luck! But a great news is that I won a giveaway at Cristina's blog Pee Before Polish (awesome name 8) and it's so true!).Thank you Cristina for making my week! :h

Thank you for reading and stopping by! I hope I'll be back to blogging soon. :)

Xoxo,
Ivana :k
