my first short essay in full korean.
its part of the homework given (i think) 2 weeks ago,
and i finally managed to complete it T.T

handed up to the teacher for correction and she gave it back yesterday
think i used quite a lot of unnecessary phrases / words?
cos she struck out lots of stuff
so i guess that means i can happily stick to very very very simple korean
as long as people can understand what im trying to say, that's good ^^


anw, to commemorate the first short essay that i wrote all by myself(!!!)
here it is below, for the whole world to see! x.x

it's not gonna be 100% perfect or anything,
and i guess some parts are repetitive / might not even make sense
but dont laugh at me!

싱가포르는 거의 적도선에 있는 섬이다. 동남아시아에 가장 작은 나라이지만 싱가포르는 동남아시아 선진독립국중 하나입니다. 싱가포르는 현대적일 뿐만 아니라 길을 따라 많은 동식물상이 있는 깨끗한 도시라서 사람들이 보통 싱가포르를 "정원도시"라고 한다.

싱가포르에서 사는 사람은 중국사람에서부터 말레이사람, 인도사람등 여러 민족이 있어서 싱가포르에는 문화도 다양하다. 중국문화를 경험 할 수 있는 차이나타운에는 이국적인 채소와 과일들이 오우트람 거리에 있는 "콤플렉스 틈포러리 마켓"에 있다.

또한 민족문화에 관심이 있는 여행객들이 즐겨 찾는 곳으로 전통적인 리틀인디아와 감퐁글람이 있다. 리틀인디아는 의류와 금 보석이 많고 아랍식 지역에 있는 감퐁글람은 제단사들이 직접 옷을 만들어 주는 가게들이 있다. 그곳들에 가면 다른 민족의 문화를 경험 할 수 도 있고 볼거리와 전통 먹을거리도 많아서 외국 광관객들에게 인기가 아주 많은 곳들이다.

싱가포르에 오면 쇼핑만큼 큰 즐거움을 주는 것도 없다. 싱가포르의 주요 쇼핑거리는 바로 유명한 "과수워 거리"다. 과수원 거리는 싱가포르 시청에 있는 대표적인 쇼핑장소이다. 과수원 거리를 따라 많은 호텔들과 쇼핑몰이 늘어서 있는데 거기에 있는 가게들은 부띠끄에서부터 디자이너상품을 전문화한 쇼핑몰까지 다양해서 패션에 관심이 많은 사람과 여행객들이 즐겨 찾는 곳이다.

아름다운 정원도시 싱가포르, 작은 나라이지만 현대적인 모습 뿐만 아니라 여러까지 민족의 문화도 만날 수 있다. 특별한 추억을 만들고 싶으면 정원도시 싱가포르로 여행을 해 보면 어떨까?
