Another one...
So, as of now, I have two sec school classmates who is married. But unfortunately, even though I'm back in town this time around, I've not been able to attend her wedding. As I told Stef, I predict we're going to have another classmate getting married in about half a year's time.. Now the question is just : WHO? :p
Stef and Ranita treated me to a great meal yesterday.. throwing in good food and quality time.. Thanks guys! :)
Today was spent reading a book which is part of a trilogy. Finished the first book : A Child Called 'It', which is a memoir relating the author's life as an abused child. It was only after I finished reading that I found out that this was the story of the third worst case of child abuse in California back in the 1970s. To be honest, I dont find the author's style particularly interesting nor particularly good.. But knowing it is a true story makes a difference (to me). To see how a mother (I'm now beginning to wonder if she's really his biological mother) can think up so many inhumane ways of torturing her son and actually finding joy in seeing him suffer.. Now onto the second book "The Lost Boy" to see how he lived his life from 12 - 18 after he's been "rescued".

When the Fever Strikes...
It's the World Cup season... and it's all about football nowadays! Personally, it's alot more toned down for me this time around.. I have NOT been watching every match (like I used to) and I have yet to stay up for a 3 am match to date (so unlike last time). There are reasons of course or some might say excuses.. Oh well..
Anyway, TONIGHT for the Portugal vs Mexico match, I had two unlikely people sitting and watching the entire match with me! And they are none other than my parents! Hee~
Looks like somebody's caught the fever.. Now all we're missing is a few teh tariks and a bigger tv screen and the mamaks :D

Gifts
The best gifts are those that may look simple and pretty ordinary from the outside to anyone else... but mean the world to the person who is receiving it. A truly personalized gift.
I got one such gift today... (and it is absolutely practical! :D )
Thank you love :)

Time
It's weird how fast time can pass... When you have a dateline to meet.. when you know you've got a specifically allocated number of hours in one place.. when you're too busy to look at the clock.. If you're living on a routine time can pass faster than you know it.. You cant tell if it's been 2 days or 5 days since everyday is almost the same. But sometimes time seem to pass too slowly. The clock works fine.. and there are still 60 minutes in an hour, 60 seconds in a minute, yet it can feel so different.
The past weekend went by all too quickly. But it was FUN :) (or maybe 'because' it was fun..) TK and SF came over from Singapore for a weekend getaway and I was supposed to be the 'tourist guide'. But to be honest, I think it felt more like we were 3 tourists visiting Penang instead :p And what's so great about playing tourist in Penang? The FOOD of course! Hee~
And so, in that 48 hours, we've managed to eat: Penang Laksa (TK's first time!! Haha.. He cant believe he's been missing out on it the past 20+ yrs of his life!) Had Char Kuey Teow and Penang Road Cendol (again!!! :D) Also had Nasi Kandar, Loh Mee, Ban Chan Kuih, Pasembur, Kangkung with Sotong, Otak-otak and Chicken Wings. (Missed out on the roti(s) and mee goreng.) Seriously it felt like the trip was almost all for eating..
We even managed to take a 'wrong' bus to a 'wrong stop' (the bus conductor was either playing a prank on us or he got our destination wrong). It was certainly a new experience for me.. Haha.. but I guess in times like this, if you've got the right company, it doesnt really matter where you end up, you'll still end having enjoying yourself.. or at least I did! :)
Managed to get Indonesian Layer Cake (though I didnt get to eat it :p) and catched a movie during that time too :) But I guess the best part was still catching up with old friends and spending time together.. If only I could do this with all my friends..
Oh well.. I guess that's just wishful thinking. Everybody's asking me when I'm going to KL.. Sigh. I wish I know too..
Good news: I've got company for my long haul flight trip back to TO :)
