How much can ONE email change my day? By about 176.4 degrees I'd say.. *Sigh*
Finally made the phone call back last night... It seems JS stayed up til 4 am to make his call... I wonder if he would have stayed up later if I'd decided to pick a later time.. Anyway, I think I set a new record this year talking to nineteen (!!!) people in one hour..
Things I'd realized/learnt from that one phone call:
- it would be helpful to have a list of the people I need to talk to, in specific order
- it is possible to temporarily forget your cousin's name if you havent used it for a long time
- randomly switching between cantonese and english is not that easy
- I need to brush up on my cantonese
- I've grown older
- I'd better do my 'homework' before I go back for summer
- I'm going to have another nephew/niece in ~2 months time
- ko's voice is sounding more like his father!

Embarrassing incident of the day: Struggling against the wind to open the door to the building... And losing the 'battle' :p
This would never happen back home for 2 reasons:
1. I dont ever remember the wind being THAT strong
2. Doors back home open in.. not out! Hah!
Memorable incident: Eating ice cream on a freezing cold winter night without gloves!
Lesson of the day: you only live once.. go ahead and do stupid things while you still can! :)

If there's one easy way to make me feel dumb it is: attending a bio tutorial.
For some reason, there's always these 'genius-like' (I say genius-like because I know in fact they are probably not geniuses... though they are probably pretty damn smart -- which is why I feel dumb because if they were genius, then it just makes things so much simpler) people who can go on and on about molecular biology or lab based techniques to do stuff that to me is just incomprehendo!

What should have been a full day of studying turned out to be a day full of everything but studying... Sigh..
Suddenly there seem to be so many things going on.. so much to settle... so much unsettled.. so many plans... so many things to do... and so little time!!

Today is *look one line up* Friday the 13th!
I only noticed it this morning when I was browing though some articles and there was one about being a paraskevidekatriaphobe (someone who's afraid of the number 13 ;) )that caught my attention. How superstitious are you? I can be very superstitious about some things and totally oblivious to some.. Well so far the day has been going pretty well *touch wood* :p
So the first week of class is finally over! The brain hasnt quite warmed up yet and neither has the hand.. I dont like how my handwriting always seem 'uglier' during the first week of class.. mostly due to the fact that I havent had to pick up a pen/pencil to write over the holidays :p
Biochem test coming up this Tuesday... not looking forward to that.. Also found out I'll be having tests over CNY.. how crappy! Schedule for the rest of the sem doesnt look too good either... sigh..
On a more positive note:
1. The weather has been great the past week :) So unlike what one would expect in January in TO.
2. Had a pleasantly long walk the other night with a friend nice enough to keep me company..
3. Also received a package from Oz from the most unexpected person..

It's a New Year! 2005 has ended with style... Sushi/sashimi for dinner and champagne for the toast.
2006 has rolled off to a 'good' start so far... Late night chat with a 'drunk' followed by pigeons and rabbits (among other unexpected things) greeting me in my dreams.
How much will the beginning foreshadow the year ahead?
