Talking to strangers can be fun (therapeutic even... if you're hitting the right topics).. I spent more than half an hour this morning talking (really answering questions) to a guy whose name I dont even know (not dont remember.. I just dont know cause he didnt tell me) And there I was brushing my teeth when the phone call came.. even my usual hello came out 'wrong'.. cause I was talking in my sexy-throaty-5-mins-out-of-bed voice :p It was some kind of survey thing where he gets to ask me a bunch of questions and I get to answer them.. See the key to hiring people whose work involves making phone calls is in the voice. This guy has got a really friendly nice voice! (which I'd actually mistaken for that belonging to a friend when he first said hello :p) I've spoken to a fair share of strangers on the phone and he is definitely one of the best. Thinking about it again after, it does feel kinda weird though telling a stranger so much about yourself. Oh well.. at least it helped kick start my day with a few good laughs :) Oh.. and the fact that he has a nice laughter helped too..
Side note: I finally understand (read: experienced it first-hand) how sometimes in movies the actors/actresses barely (read 1 time max) gargle their mouth after brushing their teeth. Haha.. suprisingly it isnt as bad as I'd thought it would be..

My productivity level is lower than low... I seem to get distracted by nothing and everything at the same time.. little things here and there popping up in my mind when I'm supposed to be concentrating on my work! *sigh*
FINALLY managed to draw the graph(s) for my lab write-up! The best part was I didnt have to draw it by hand! Muahahaha.. well the graphing on excel took a little mastering but it was worth it.. (at least for me.. since I absolutely abhor drawing graphs.. maybe except linear ones :p)
Observation of the day: The size of one's backpack should be proportional to the size of one's back..

How do you explain waking up at odd hours in the morning.. feeling really tired but not being able to go back to sleep? It wasnt like I had a nightmare or that a car alarm went off again.. Somehow I just woke up at 4.30 am. (and it's the fourth.. maybe fifth.. I'd lost count.. night in a row I'd woke up before 6 am) Still, today was the most frustrating cause I was dead tired but I just couldnt go back to sleep.. There's this tension in my body that I cant seem to get rid of no matter how I try to relax..
Orientation was yesterday.. Things started off pretty good until slightly after the race.. Maybe it's cause everyone was tired by then or something I just didnt think they cared too much for the presentations and speeches.. Oh well.. food was good.. especially liked the sambal fried rice :p~ hehe.. the single, biggest motivator for me to sign up for classes.
Turns out most of the guys can play the piano very well.. A night of music and singing.. it was nice... too bad I sort of lost my voice from all the shouting I did earlier during the day :p Went for bubble tea after that.. my first one in a loooooong time.. All things considered, I did have a pretty good first Orientation :)
Note: I read somewhere women have this tendency to remember the good parts and forget the bad parts.. I'd say that's not such a bad thing in (most cases) :)

The bruise(s) (since technically there's another one about the same height on my other shin) on my shin has yet to disappear though it's been a couple of days.. I have yet to figure out how I got it in the the first place.. The closest and most logical explaination I could come up with is that I'd somehow hit my table since it doesnt seem to be the right 'height' if I'd hit my bed.. bleh.. I guess it doesnt really matter how I got it. Just wish it'll go away soon...
My silly side has taken over today :) Wee! Go silliness! People (myself included) should do silly things (from time to time)... or else the world would be a very dull place to live in :)
From now on, I wanna try to learn to live by: Never try, never know...

All this riddle writing has me missing my drive hunts.. I wanna go on a hunt! Sigh... Hopefully if I do go back next summer, I'll be able to go on at least one (if not more... though I doubt that's likely to happen..)
Started the morning off bumping into Steve in MS. Turned out we were both waiting for books from two different people we didnt know.. and then coincidentally both of them turned out at just about the same time which was good I guess since we were going to the same class after that. Bought another textbook this afternoon. So that's two down, one to go..
Went for a swim today for the first time in more than a year with Ann and PY. I seem to have absolutely zero stamina.. Sigh... I really should to do something about that... Also I think there's something not quite right with my breathing technique.. haha.. sounds so lame but I just might need to learn how to breathe properly again :p
Anyway the weather today was G-R-E-A-T! Nice and cool.. bright and sunny!! Great weather sure helps promote great mood! :)

Quote of the day: "Because females are complicated" - a fellow male classmate in pcl376. Haha.. that was in reference to the question : why are male rats/mice used in almost all lab experiments instead of female rats/mice? Goodness.. and we're only talking rats/mice here...
On a totally unrelated incident, I saw this guy (I meant this good looking hunk of a guy) standing in a phone booth talking on the phone... he was leaning against the phone, facing me.. and honestly there was nothing abnormal about his dressing or expression and what not... yet for some reason the first thought that came to my mind was he's selling phone sex!! *groan* what is wrong with me?!

Ta daa....

My very own Apple Pecan Cheesecake :) It may not be the best looking cake in the world but it scores where it matters most cause it taste GOOD!! (if I should say so myself.. haha) If I was less lazy I'd have made caramel sauce to go with it.. mm mmm.... oh well.. no biggie since it's pretty good as it is :)

Is it normal to feel guilty about being selfish once in a while? Or is it just me? Sigh..

Giant (the dog) has nose cancer! First things first, Giant is actually NOT anywhere near large in size.. as a matter of fact I consider him at max average in size if not smaller than average.. I guess this is what happens when kids do the naming.. But the question here is, how does a dog end up getting nose cancer? Or any cancer for that matter? Probably the same way that humans do I supposed.. but it just sounds weirder when it's happening to a dog..

What a week... It's Saturday night already! Which means classes will resume in less than 48 hrs.. sigh.. I havent rested quite enough yet..
Went to Waterloo today (unexpectedly).. haha.. I didnt know St. Jacob was in Waterloo! Anyway, it was alot like a history lesson about the Mennonites.. followed by lunch at a very huge farmer's market.. and then a short hike..
I've lost track of how many times I got sunburnt this summer.. No thanks to the fact that I sometimes forget (but mostly because I just dont like the sticky feeling of sunblock on my skin).. got burnt yesterday when I spent more than 4 hrs in the sun for the SAC orientation.. and I think I got a minor one today from the trip :p Now hopefully with all the burnts I've suffered, the after-tan will remain long enough..

All of a sudden there seem to be this buzz in my life.. Been going out everyday since last Friday and have plans lined up til the coming Saturday. Quite a big change from my quiet (read: almost non-existant) social life in summer.. I guess it's mostly cause just about everyone is back from their summer vacation to the other side of the world.. It really was alot quieter without them around. And then a few friends move into the building recently.. Wonder what the year ahead would be like..

SO I've finally COMPLETED the Empire State Building Jigsaw from John.. It's been left to collect dust in its box for more than a year.. so on Thursday I decided it was high time I took it out and give it a shot.. This is the first time I'm making a 3-D jigsaw and honest to goodness I hope it'll be the last.. Here are a few things I didnt really like about them:
1. Pictures are sometimes not glued properly on the foam base
2. It's much harder to tell if you're fitting the right pieces together.. or I should say when you've fit the wrong ones together
3. Putting the sides together to make it stand can be such a pain!
The reason it's not standing straight is cause the "hollow" base cant really support the weight of "the entire building".. (unfortunately) Will is right.. I need glue (if I plan to keep it on permanent display...havent decided for sure) And it's so close to collapsing on me.. I didnt dare to leave it standing up.. so right now I have an Empire State Building lying horizontally on my floor.. haha.. should decide what to do with it soon.. taking up space..
And today I went apple picking! :) I got some Ginger Gold and some Wealthy apples (both of which I'd never heard of until today :p) But I got to taste them first and they are ok (still prefer Fuji or is it Gala.. always mixing up the two) Had lunch at the orchard.. but it wasnt the most peaceful lunch of my life.. there were wasps flying around trying to get to my apple cider and apple blossom dessert.. they were both pretty good though so I guess it was worth 'fighting' (or in this case flailing my arms around like a mad woman) for..
After that we went to Rattlesnake Point for a short walk/hike.. one thing I have to say though.. the maps are absolutely useless.. so our little walk without referring to the map ended up leading us lower and lower downhill (we started wayyyy up) when we finally figured out that trail was not going to lead up back up.. we had to retrace our steps... geez.. it was a good walk though.. especially since I havent exercised for such a long time :p
