i lost lotsa braincells today... not a productive day... at all... everything seems to be moving so slowly.. too slowly...
did laundry.. took double the time it usually takes... coz half the dryers downstairs are "out of order"... arghh! dunno whats wrong with them... they look perfectly fine to me.. so anywayz i had to use one dryer for two loads of washing...
hai... thankfully there was this nice girl who let me use the dryer first... and said she didnt mind at all... three cheers for all the nice ppl in this world! :)
been working on "repairing" my calculater this afternoon... took more than 3 hrs!! crazy.. it still works funny... bt its better than before... just need it to work properly on tuesday... and til finals... bought my first screwdriver in canada! :) my first tool... for my toolbox... i think EVERY home needs a toolbox... with screwdrivers, pliers, hammers... those are the most three most important ones... coz those are the ones i use! hehe... i like my dad's toolbox... its filled up with tools (all sorts of stuff) and its quite a big toolbox... i wanna have one of those in my home next time.. bt since i dont use (not dunno! just dont) most of them... i'll just get a simple one for now... with screwdrivers and pliers... oh and of coz... a hammer! :)

manage to wake up this morning for the soccer match :) john's team won 3-1... ( i thought it was a 2-1 win.lol) anyway... the match was fun... they had this "imaginary goal post". i was thinking the top of the post should be as high as where the goalie can reach with his hand stretched up... which led to the conclusion, its probably more advantageous to get a shorter goalie. haha... bt shawn said its actually as high as where the goalie can reach if he jumps with his hands stretched... so, my hypothesis wasnt right... bt my conclusion still holds! ;p
another conclusion i've came up with today... its not a good thing to play with tall footballers. the other team had this REALLY tall guy... well for one it takes less effort for him to run around the field... bt apart from that.. from a spectator's point of view, he looks 'dangerously' close to falling everytime he runs around. and my 'fear' for him extends to the other players on the field... since he's about one head taller than most ppl there... who knows if he might bang into someone when he's not looking down?... "oopss.. sorry... didnt see you!".lol and im not overimaginative... coz he did actually bang into someone! so there... two good conclusions in a day... for one match... talk about clocking productive time :D
other interesting things i've noticed... daniel's got a more powerful "oi" than me.. haha... and not only that.. i wonder what he does to keep his voice going... he's been shouting out at them throughout the whole game! there was "pressure" (my fav... every time he said pressure.. i say tekan.hehe... also equivalent to edmund's "mug ta" ), "push up"(pumping?), "dont commit"(????), "spread out"(the only expression anyone/everyone can make sense of), "centre" (ok another one that makes sense) and a few others i cant remember. then the quote of the day (this really got stuck in my head) "dont look at the ball" (what are you supposed to look at if not at the ball?? im no soccer pro bt im quite sure if you have the ball bt you take your eyes off it... you're gonna lose it in 1 minute... max!!)
the hopscotch "art" along university avenue seem to have faded... bt the note by the US embassy was still visibly..barely... "ends here for diplomatic reasons.. continue where canada starts again" haha... i thought that was so cool... i really wonder if that person drew it all the way down to harbour front... bt since its quite faded... i didnt think it was worth following it all the way...
cant seem to get the flight back coordinated with bertina's... hmm... guess we'll just have to meet up here and then find a way to look for/get an apartment. hopefully things are going to be fine... *fingers crossed*

today's short and sweet... the weather seem to have taken a turn for the better this morning. striked me how weather networks have never been a (big) part of my life (at all) until i got to toronto. back in malaysia i never have to check the weather before i go out...
now over here i almost never go out without first checking the weather... and i thought it applied to just abt everyone in toronto... that is until i went for my bio lecture... the lecturer was telling us about el nino, la nina, etc... and he came to the part where he was telling us abt the cold arctic wind/water in positive and negative cycles... he said smt like when its in a negative cycle... cold water/wind will pour over fr the arctic to the northern hemisphere... causing western europe and almost the whole northern hemisphere to experience a cold winter... to which he added "... we've not experienced the negative cycle for the past few years" or something along that line... haha... this really got me thinking.. either he just moved here this year (which i think is highly unlikely) or he must have not been checking the weather network for the past few years... coz as far as i know... from all the 'horror' winter stories... its been pretty cold over the past few years during winter...
well that's that... my physics TA wasnt here today... so there was this guy who stepped in for her... i wonder if most ppl already know she wasnt going to turn up... coz i think only 10 ppl showed up in tutorial today... had lunch with py and ruben... he was telling us abt how 4 armed men robbed a road-side 'hawker' of RM1000 or so and fled to the jetty where three of them robbed another guy at the jetty of another three or four thousand dollars and escaped with his boat while the other guy fled in another direction... (why are these ppl carrying soo much cash around????! weird... if you catch me on a good day ... ie i just got out from the bank... i might have 40 dollars in my wallet... i can understand why the hawker might have money... bt a thousand is still quite alot for a day's business... hmm... maybe i should consider switching to selling 'char kuey teow'/ice kacang. :D the other guy... he's real cacated... no other explanation)
so the story was this three robbers took the boat and sailed towards singapore... and they landed on pulau tekong... a military base!!! how suey can you get??! anyway they were caught aft 2 days... hunted down by 700 (????) men fr the police and army... so... lessons of the day: 1. dont carry out armed robbery... harsher penalties... when you only get away with the same amount of money.. 2. study your geography! what worst place to hide that on an island?? 3. research and plan escapes properly... landing on an island is bad enough.... landing on a military camp based island??
one word: BENG!
went to see mr s to report my conflict... this is the second time he's let me go aft i signed my name and got the location of the makeup... as py put it 'sen chi!' haha... maybe he's trying to change... for the better? i wish the next batch of students good luck :)

WOOO! i feel free :) -er i mean...
i had a chem test just now... sucky! hopefully its not as bad as my chem test 2 last sem... i also had my bio presentation and paper due today... (2 bombs in a day! now you know why im free-er even though i flopped chem)
the bio presentation was suprisingly ok. didnt do much prep for it... coz i didnt have time.. i only started working on the paper yesterday... and aft that... all the time i have left was divided between 6 chapters of chem and sleep. bt well i guess thats the good thing abt finishing it just yesterday... coz then i have all the point still 'fresh' in my head... the one funny part was when i was trying to elaborate about how we should educate the public about not wearing fur coats... so i mentioned PETA (naturally)... which stands for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals... only i totally forgot what it stands for during my presentation... i was like... "people for ethical err... errr... oh shit!"... the good thing was my labmates and TA thought that was 'funny'(?)... *malu* bt i'll live..
went to dinner with py and john... on baldwin st... ive decided i really REALLY like one park lane... i wish i only know how much it costs to rent and if there are any vacancies.. i've actually liked the place before i 'know' the place... i remember walking down university avenue at night with py sometime ago (last sem probably)... when i first saw the place and i already liked it then.. i told her it'll be so nice if we can live there... and she actually told me ' i think thats where john lives'. haha... well i guess john lives close enough... the opposite block of apartments ;p
brian was saying maybe i should work on my lab report and next prelab (alot!) as soon as possible. is he worried about the past repeating itself? haha... it wont happen! COZ this time around i have his phone number! :D ohh... better not jinx it... to be on the safe side... i'd better start working on it tmr... since i dont have classes after one anywayz. then if i've any probs... i can ask him in thursday's tutorial. i really think he's a nice guy :)
*reminder:make sure my blog is set to private* ;)

i was supposed to do my bio paper today... unfortunately i didnt seem to have any inspiration to write.. hai... so all i did was looked up some e-journals for reference. its a good thing i found a few... coz i totally have NO idea how to write this paper. sien..
went out for dinner in asian legend with choot, edmund, john and py... ordered a shanghai noodle soup coz im going to have a sore throat SOON... sore throat(s), flu(s) and cough(s) are those real "argh!" "sickness"... coz it makes you so uncomfortable even though you are not officially sick. its like you're not well... bt you're not sick at the same time... those in between states... now fever is bad... coz then you're really sick and you have to take medicine... (i dont like taking medicine... and i dont like going to the doctor :p)
adjourned to bertina's place after dinner. think we spent around 4 hrs there... sat in her room, chit chat-ing... learn a bit of psych... "cuckoldry" is a term used to describe the condition where a guy is uncertain(worried) whether the child his wife is carrying is actually his own. hmm... interesting... :)

its thursday week 2... and that means... tmr i've only got 1 hr of class! hehee...
my internet is finally back up and running.. its been down since monday... it hit me how heavily i rely on the internet... the past 3 days almost killed me! :p the past week hadnt been all that great... dont wanna think abt it now.. will have to face reality when my test papers are returned.. bt until then... let me be infected with selective - amnesia ;p
i've finally gotten around to booking my ticket for my flight back home.. i'll be flying on the 10th of may... exactly 12 days aft my last paper. well i figure the first two days will probably be spent either in bed... or out-i-dunno-where-yet. then i need a couple of days to pack and shop for souvenirs for everyone back home.. now THAT's gonna give me one big headache.. i wanna get smt for everyone.. bt everyone don't seem to wanna help me by telling me what they want!
except soi poh..
i bump into bertina again today... realise i've been bumping into her quite often lately.. its weird how it hadnt happened all year last year.. bt all of a sudden it's happened like a couple of times in the past 2 weeks.
and i've came up with a new hypothesis!!! my first in a VERY VERY long time.. i tot i loss that part of my brain already :p
1st hypothesis of 2004 : smaller (by definition: physically smaller than me) girls get the guys (sooner?)
most of my smaller friends are attached... or if not.. they have been in relationships at least twice.. even in uni.. in class.. in the cafetaria... everywhere! bt its still just a hypothesis... will have to see if it can stand the test of time...

i am SOOO dead. (its all because of the weather! lol) i was supposed to cover 5 chapters of economics during the weekend. bt up til now... there's 2 hrs left to the weekend... i havent even finish covering 1! ahh!
what an unproductive self-imposed grounding!! i guess at the very least my decision to stay away from msn for the until tuesday might help abit. *prying real hard* have just recently came up with the idea to refrain from going on msn a few days before tests/exams... first put on trial for my bio test (which was a disaster!argh!)
on a lighter note, i watched 'cruel intentions' last nite in my room with (py and bob), choot and kitiya... been catchin up with a few of the older movies that i've missed recently.
just wrote cher's b'day card today.. haha... MUST remember to send it tmr ;P its gonna arrive soo late... bt its the thought that counts right? ;) luv ya cher..missin you lots!
