To Make and Break

Promise is actually often made in disguise to gain others' trust...

When a man takes an oath... he's holding his own self in his own hands. Like water. And if he opens his fingers then - he needn't hope to find himself again.
--Robert Bolt

Because if people do not trust you, they won't bother believing you in having the capability of upholding your promises...

He who promises more than he is able to perform, is false to himself; and he who does not perform what he has promised, is a traitor to his friend.
--George Shelley

And when incalculable promises are not kept, then it is a clear epitome of one's incompetency...

The man who promises everything is sure to fulfill nothing, and everyone who promises too much is in danger of using evil means in order to carry out his promises, and is already on the road to perdition.
--Carl Jung

And when one's denial of own incompetence has led to absurd antics, it will be intolerable.

Period.

I don't make promises so easily if i know there is an even 1% possibility that i can't keep them. Hence, 'see how then....' is my best weapon. Haha.

Depleting...

I went to weigh myself today, then i realised i lost quite a bit of weight since January...

The worst thing was, 6 out of 7 days during the last week ended with my energy 90% sapped, left the final 10% to take bus and walk home at late night.

A rough estimated of at least 18 hours of 'work out' for last week.

And now, i have muscle aches all over.

Maybe this week may be better with just 5 days out of 7??

I have to increase my budget to replenish my energy.....

Not just to eat only...

I'm back to busy mode again after a momentarily rest right after CAC+US.

Hence, I'm still lagging behind my entries. In addition, I'm addicted to making picture collages after the initial attempt to do so.

Anyway, it was a surprise and even a greater surprise birthday celebrations for both TX and YT respectively on 4 June...

The fountain looks like Niagara Falls! And it changes colours. That's nice.

And also, I got my 2nd belated birthday gift (My 1st gift i shall specially talk about it next time. Ha.)

But apparently, i think those frozen supermarket's pizzas i had while in USA seemed bigger than the regular pizzas which looked so small as to what i thought it should be.

Or perhaps im being used to eating large pizzas. Sheesh....

Met up with L.E. and R on 5 June for dinner...

And I was surprised and unsatisfied how my Unagi Don came with 2 slices of pathetic-looking unagi, each about the size of 2 human's fingers, placed insignificantly on top of some unappetizing scrambled egg which couldn't even cover the already-half-filled bowl of rice....

They seemed to make inflation appear so ridiculously high with the kind of food they offered.

We were at Sakae Sushi, by the way.

Next, it was games time on 6 June at Mind Cafe...

Seemed like the staffs there were very confused as they kept getting the wrong orders to us. The food didn't taste good as well.

Anyway, the games we played were rather standard, but there was this new game, Quelf that was very interesting.

One was supposed to laugh whenever others were laughing, another was made to keep quiet unless sought permission from own foot. Ridiculously funny.

I was made to sing a height-related song while on my knees. But we changed the rules ourselves. Haha.

And finally, met Mr Chooo on 10 June, who was eager to pass me my air-flown bookmark (and not anything else) from Vietnam. Ha.

My Fish and Chips supposed to have cheese in it, but i tasted minimal of it. Darn.

But even if it tasted nice, it wasn't quite worth the money, knowing how cheap and comparable FW's is.

More food next time....

Seemed like i turned this into a food critique entry. I'm just a little bit particular only...

From 3 to 4

It's been so long since the release of result (30 May), but i thought i should at least say something like in the past.

It was friday and I was in a dilemma to check my results.

I have expectation, but i wasn't confident.

If my results are good, i could chill and celebrate later. If my results are bad, it will dampen my mood.

Every semesters have been the same.

In the end, I still checked my results just 15 minutes before getting off work.

And i can only say, ultimately, one should take modules that one has real interests in when there is freedom of choice.

Nonetheless, EVE3 no more. it is EVE4 from now on.... And it sounds intimidating.

Whatever the results turned out, i was out to chill after work....

FW and OO were the two places and since I was the only one who got free entry at OO, naturally drinks were on me. They didn't cost much anyway, that's a good thing. Haha.

Interest things happened and zombiefied at the end of it, but i wasn't the worst. Lol.

So if you take modules just because others told you it is good, there may be a risk of getting con. So it is still wise to trust yourself.

CAC+US 2008

CAC+US 2008 has ended since 25 May....

It was rather busy and tiring the week before the actual performance as we only have 2 weeks after the exams to practice and learn the choreograph and formation.

The day before the actual performance, we only had 1 hour of stage blocking. On the actual day, we only had 2 full-run of rehearsal. It just didnt seem enough for us.

Singers can probably work and practice alone. But dancers depend on group effort. Even if it is just one person that is off the beat, forgetting steps or standing at the wrong position, everything will look imperfect...

No one sees how hard you work. They only see the end result....
~~Z

Yes, we put in hard work, but how good or bad it turned out, it was left to the audiences to decide...

Of course, the process is as valuable as the 3-minute moments on stage. It's all about experience and having fun.

Though i could only manage 2 out of the 3 items due to work commitment, it was good enough.

And as long as i knew i have put in my best, it was also good enough.

After the concert, we had supper at HK Cafe at Cineleisure. It was late already, but we were hungry...

And i guess, we were probably too eye-catchy and prominent with all our make-ups, hair-do and costumes everywhere we went. But, we were in our own world. Ha.

Sheesh, i still had to work with only a measly 3 hours of sleep, after reaching home at 3am...

Anyway, many thanks to those who went to watch and support. There were certainly more people that i knew who went than i've asked personally. Ha.

And many thanks and appreciation to fellow hoppers cooperating with one another and making it worked.

It was nice.

A week later (2 June'08), we had our Post-Concert Celebrations (庆功宴) at Seoul Garden.

A simple dinner, just to eat in celebration....

While some tables were more vibrant than others, some outdid one another with 'wow' dishes.

One table made some ketchup fried rice while my table had Shrimp Omelette and Soft-boiled egg.

But at the end of the day, it was still all fun and satiation.

A short visit to the Irish Bar later, made my face all red and hot with some bitter but nice tasting Old Speckled Hen - an English ale.

A mini chill-out session i would say and with that, CAC+US 2008 has finally come to a closure.

And I can now move on to the next chapter. Haha.

I was too busy/tired/lazy and hence procrastinated. Besides, i have to wait for photos first and still gotta Photoshop. Perhaps, the impatient ones can just do a simple search and read about my life's event through other blogs instead.

I happened to know someone did, and it was disgusting somehow.
