Like A Star Again

CAC+US 2008 has finally ended.

It was rather busy and tiring the week before the actual performance as we only have 2 weeks after the exams to practice and learn the choreograph and formation.

For that week, i left home at 8am for work and reached home at 12am.

No one sees how hard you work. They only see the end result....

Anyway, im lazy to blog and sleepy. Maybe will continue next time.

Bleah.

When there is only 1 chance to show what you've got, and you messed it up, then there will only be room for regret left.

I'm glad i didnt. I believed.

Happy Vesaking

Ah, it's been so long since my last long weekend.

When one is working, long weekend is like a bonus. Besides, other than work, i'm still busy with a 'desert plant'...

Yes, my internship has started since Monday, and now i understand how the IA people are going through.

I'm glad i chose 3-month internship and not 6-month. Haha.

Anyway, so far, my work has been desk-bound. And most of the time, i'm reading books.

I've never felt so hardworking before, even during exams period. Imagine going to Central Library at 9am and you started studying until 6pm. I've never done that for the past 3 years so far.

But fortunately, i'm reading up more on water treatment related stuffs. So in a way, i still learn. But because i'm reading books, i cant help falling asleep. It's tough trying to make myself stay awake.

Occasionally, i will get some easy tasks to do, but i completed them soon, and i was back to reading again. It was a bad time that i joined the company now as they are all very busy to deal with me. And i don't think it is nice to disturb them even if i would to ask them if they want some coffee. Haha.

The Singapore's branch company isnt as big as someone thought. So i find it ridiculously funny when i was suggested to ask for some department tour.

Logistic department? 1 person is handling that. IT department? 1 person and was on leave for the past week. Finance/Accounts? 1, the most 2. Marketing? Does that exist? Administrative? The receptionist is the one.

Anyway, i still learn quite a lot as when they are free, they still spent some time to teach me some stuffs.

And i was promised better experience next coming weeks.

Sheesh... there is no more long weekend until 27 October...

Post-Exam (II)!

So last friday (9th May), I was at the airport... It felt like deja vu.

Well, i wished i was flying, but no. We were there to send JR off...

And at the same time, i was greeted with a cake. I knew it coming. Haha.

My belated cake

Anyway, had more K after that, but this time was a different combination of people.

And I didn't know everyone followed my initial pose when i decided to change at the last few seconds of the camera's timer. Oops.

I'm not 心机重! Haha.

And later, we played pool, bowled and watched Ironman which is rather a nice movie! So tiring at the end of it and we couldnt wait to rush home in the wee hours.

On Saturday (10th May), without sleeping much, I went cycling with JX and WH.

We started off from East Coast Park and proceeded to Coastal Park Connector (F), stopped at Changi Village for lunch, continued with Changi Park Connector (E), then Loyang Park Connector (D), Pasir Ris Park Connector (C), Tampines Park Connector (B), then went to Bedok Reservoir Park and used Siglap Park Connector (A) to go back to ECP where we returned our bikes.

In the woods
Among the trees

So in all, that's about 40km journey and took us 5 hours to complete. It was rather tiring.

Despite that, i still went down to the De Coder's Cafe at Balmoral Plaza for a class gathering after that. Though there were only 7 people who turned up eventually, at least we made an effort to do so.

The place is just like other games cafe where we can play board/card games. But the place was very noisy with others' excitement shouts and screams. We joined in their shouts when we got the perfect noisy game to play! Haha.

Games
Games we played

We only played 5 short games as we got bored easily. Still, i didnt like the service as they didnt serve our soup-of-the-day as we ordered set meals! We had 6 but they only served 2 and when the bill came, i asked if they could deduct the amount from the total, but that person said no. He suggested serving us the soup then, but we were leaving! At least he could give us free can drinks right since we didnt want the soup already? They aren't very expensive actually.

So, i didnt like that place. Haha.

On Sunday (11th May), I was back at the airport again to send GY off to Grand Canyon. In fact, i only knew on friday that he is leaving. That's so last minute.

See so many people leaving to USA made me feel so envious of them while i'm stuck here doing internship.

Ahh, it is so tempting... ...

And i've just started my internship and i shall talk about it next time! Haha.

Post-Exam (I)!

I know, i know my exams ended like 4 days ago (7th May), but i got rather lazy and busy after that.

The feeling was similar to last year, except that at that time, i was going to leave Singapore soon, while this year, i'm starting my internship.

Well, last year, 7th May was extended to almost 39 hours, thanks to the 15-hour time lag at Los Angeles and that's definitely an interesting way to spend such a day. And this year, 7th May marked the end of Semester 6 with the finishing of the last exam paper.

Yes, it was my birthday!

I heard people say that one will have birthday luck on that day, but i doubt it worked for exams.

Anyway, many thanks to the people who remembered and wished me. I appreciated.

But still, i didnt intend and like to celebrate much. So after exams, i ended up at Raffles Place that was rather a futile trip. Haha.

At Mac's

Nonetheless, it was still nice catching up with one another.

Then left to Bugis area for dinner with family when i just had a full meal 2 hours at the Mac's. But still, i managed to finish my 'actual' dinner.

The next day, on thursday, was back at the business district....

And later was at 35 storey of some building with a nice sea view...

Then joined the rest at Clementi for a last K session with JR who is going to King's Dominion the next day.

However, the service was quite bad that they decided to compensate 2 hours to us. So in all, we had 7.5 hours.

Nice.

I'm dreading to start working. Period.

How to be blissed?

What happens when i have 4 days to study for my last paper?

I would study 2 out of 7 sets of notes each day. In order words, i probably spent 2 to 3 hours to study each day only.

That's the problem.

If i have just 1 day, i can probably finish study everything within that day. It's all in the mindset.

So i guess to be really efficient and productive, one must be 'ignorance'.

The cliche 'Ignorance is bliss' is saying how the condition of being uninformed or uneducated, lacking knowledge or information is bliss.

But here, ignorance doesn't mean we don't study and be uneducated or be oblivious to any information coming into us.

In another perspective, 'ignorance' comes from the root 'ignore' which means to take no notice of and to pay no attention to.

So during the exam period, one must ignore the presence of all form of distractions such as TV, Youtube, MSN, Facebook, games etc. Or even ignore the existence of any problems, stresses, adversity, depression etc.

Maybe when one stays 'ignorance' this way then can feel the bliss...

I think i ignored the fact that i have exams and still have exams. And did not ignore the fact that holidays, albeit a short one, are coming after exams.
