Last week was a lab week, because we have to go to the lab everyday for at least 30 mins or so. But, it was quite fun though.
First, we collected air sample from the Central Library to test for the amount of bacteria present in the air. Then we incubated the sample. At the same time, we incubated water sample from the sea, drain, pond.
The incubator::Petri dishes with agar for innoculation
Bacteria from central library growing::Rows of test tubes with water sampleAnd turn out, the air in Central Library does have various kind of bacteria yah. So the air there is quite bad.
As for the water samples, we had to wait for the bacteria to grow and do various tests. Quite interesting to see how the bacteria grow within 24 hours.
Pervert-looking::Streaking of bacteria on agar plate
Bacteria in tube::E. Coli under microscopeTurned out the water samples do contain E. Coli. So better don't drink them when in the sea.. Haha.
On another day, i went for a Sensory Lab to help out a friend in Food Science. And we got to taste potato cooked in different kind of oil which i don't know what and chose the one i like best.
The small space i have::The form
My test::Sliced potatoSome sample did taste bad. I wonder what kind of oil they used....
