Good Bye Cedar Point!

Today is my last day at Cedar Point, and in 5 hours time, im leaving this place for a 13-hr bus ride to New York.

Think i will faint on the bus.

My last schedule

With Tom - an interesting guy::With our supervisor, Elizabeth who was only with us for the 2nd day
With 2 Taiwanese friends at my location::And Yiling and Jac at the cafeteria

Well, felt a bit sad though to leave the place. I will definitely miss the nice people that i've worked with and the RIDES!! But i will not miss the shitty work i've encountered here. Ha.

Anyway, when back, we decided to cook most of the food we have left before we leave. And so we ended with a feast..

There are potato soup, mixed meat soup, teriyaki chicken,
scrambled eggs, macaroni and beef ravioli

But still, we left a lot of food in the fridge and shelf. Oh well....

Anyway, due to my shopping splurge that consists of about 20 tops, 2 jeans, 1 berms, watch, belt, perfume and a Canon SD800IS digital camera (yes, i bought a camera here, same model as what i had lost!), my luggage has no space. So i bought another big hand carry that is more than enough to contain all my stuffs. In fact, we all bought another bag.

Just a portion of my accomplishment

What's more, we going to another factory outlet that has 220 stores in New York again. We are so broke.

Ok, going to process out in 1.5hr time. Will update again, yah.

Getting excited!

Bidding time!

6 more days and im outta Cedar Point!

Time flies yah. But seriously, the working experience hasnt been very good with the Blacks around. They are really a group of lousy workers i must say. And i do have a lot of complaints about them actually.

But for now, let's keep it short.

So im not going to work tomorrow. Going to call off. Ha. Since friday is my scheduled off day, that will make me thursday and friday off!

Lol. They gonna die with so many shortage of people at my location now.

Anyway, it's Round 0 and i havent even look at the modules yet. This is bad. But i guess i will be taking SC1101E Making Sense of Society.

Haha.

And we will be starting our travelling around USA soon.

So excited.

A Little Package: Part 2

Ha, in addition to what KR has posted here, really thanks to the 3 Js for the little Singapore flavours.

So the first thing we cooked was the Hainanese rice, and two days ago, we decided to cook the curry chicken...

We bought potatoes, chicken breasts and chicken thighs just for the curry chicken.

And pour everything into the pot to cook. It didnt look quite like curry at first, but we left it to simmer, hopefully, would turn out well.

And in the end, it tasted good. So delicious we finished the entire pot of curry.

Ha, had a great dinner!

Next, we gonna have the Thai red curry or Vietnamese curry. LoL

Niagara Falls Trip

The Niagara Falls trip was on 19th and 20th June. Apparently Cedar Point has a 1-day trip there for employees but a group of us didnt sign up. Hence we decided to go ourselves for 2 days on rented car.

And so there were 20 of us - 17 food hosts and 3 game hosts and we had 3 cars.

This time the journey is about 275 miles long (10 times the length of Singapore) and the drive will take about 5 hours.

DAY 1

In actual, we took about 6 hours to reach our destination, thanks to the thunderstorm we met along our way and got lost a couple of times. In fact, it was raining like 80% of our time and seems like we were travelling along with the direction of the storm clouds.

So we reached the hotel at around 5.45pm when we supposed to start our bus tour at 5.30pm. It was still drizzling then. The entire bus was catered to us only and it wasnt cheap.

And so we started our bus stop shortly and the bus guide would drive us around to various locations and attractions.

First stop was at this look-out where we can see the Niagara Falls from the top...

At the look-out::The look-out as viewed from the bottom
The Rainbow Bridge::Niagara Falls viewed from the look-out

After that, we proceeded to our boat ride - Maid of the Mist. Thanks to the weather and also our lateness, the boat didnt have much people. Mainly just 20 of us, our tour guide and probably around 10 other tourists.

Before the ride we were already wet from the rain::Putting on the ponchos
Walking towards the boat::The empty boat

We had to put on a blue poncho before getting onto the boat as this boat ride will get us wet when we will be extremely near to the falls and into the mist from the falls.

On board the boat::The aerial view of the boat (not us onboard though)

The Maid of the Mist ride will bring us past the base of the American Falls, then into the basin of the magnificent Canadian Horseshoe Falls.

During the ride, everyone were too crazily taking pictures. We had to be fast or we would miss the nice view at the back. Luckily, on the lower deck of the boat, we were mainly the only one there, else we couldnt take our pictures freely without bumping into other tourists. Ha.

While we were relatively dry::Area 3's food hosts with Canada as background
Alex and I::Getting drenched and strong wind.

The Niagara Falls once again

Some Little Fact:
The river in which we were on is actually the dividing line between USA and Canada. The Niagara Falls is on the USA side i think, but only when at Canada can one view the Niaraga Falls from the front. So pity us, we can only see the Niagara falls from the side most of the time.

USA on the left and Canada on the right

On the look-out::The VJCians
Everyone::Just the guys

We were back to the look-out point for more pictures before proceeding to the Cave of the Winds attraction. This time, we will be even nearer to the falls, in fact we will be at the base of the American Falls. And we had to wear yellow ponchos this time.

Yellow hooders::Walking along the wooden stairs
The Hurricane Deck::At the deck getting flushed

It was really cool, as we will get wet again. There is this point called the Hurricane Deck where we would be just a few feet away from the base of part of the falls and get real wet, but not really with the ponchos. Ha.

The yellow group::Getting real close to the fast and furious water
Really nice photo::Night time with colourful lights

The tour ended at around 10pm and we had dinner at Hard Rock Cafe. The food was good but quite expensive. And our table shared a bottle of red wine that costed just around USD$15. And i got real red after that.

Back to hotel finally after midnight.

DAY 2

Early in the morning, 10 of us went for the Whirlpool Jetboat while the rest went on their on walking tour around the Niagara Falls.

Ten of us and the weather was cold::The equipment
With the jetboat::Our wristband

For this tour we had to wear like 3 layers - a sweater inside, a big yellow coat and a lifesaver jacket. The ride was only 45 mins. It was short but damn exciting. The boat brought us through the a few rapids where we experienced 'drop' feeling, and the gush of water hitting us. I sat at the first row and many times i couldnt open my eyes. And we got really really wet even with the coats we had on.

At noon, everyone of us gathered again and checked out the hotel. Then the rest proceeded to the factory outlet stores 1-hr drive away while 6 of us decided to stay on for more tour of the falls. The previous night we arrived too late and hence couldnt take nice pictures of the falls at night.

(pity i didnt seen this myself as it was taken by others who woke up at 6am)

After the few hours walk, we joined the rest at the factory outlet stores. Spent quite a lot here again buying Diesel watch, Burberry perfume, Polo tees for sis and chocolate.

Back home after that, but due to much delays, we only left the factory outlet stores at almost 9pm. It was another 5-hour drive back.

Even though each car has 2 drivers to take turn to drive, it was still very tiring and even torturing to drive like 2-3 hours straight without rest and keeping very hard to stay awake.

And i started driving at 11pm and along the way for a couple of times, the entire car fell asleep except me. So i had to really stay awake to drive the long and boring highway.

Of course we reached Cedar Point apartment safely at 3am++ after we made a detour to the nearby supermarket for grocery shopping for like 1hr.

Very tiring, but really enjoyed myself.

Sometimes we really wished we don't have to work. Ha.

Independence Day

Somehow i think a lot of people didnt like 4th of July. Because that means Cedar Point is opened from 10am to 12am.

Fortunately my schedule is from 12pm to 9pm. And interestingly, the crowd wasnt as much compared to 2nd and 3rd July when the crowd were crazily large. So i got sent home at 5pm, only to go back at 7pm. What a waste of my time!

Fireworks was the highlight at night and i managed to catch 15 minutes of it at 10pm after my work. Still, the fireworks was so-so only, nothing much...

But because fireworks can be bought here, we could see fireworks being shot up in the sky in the streets.

Anyway, I got no time to do a Niagara Falls post. When i have time i will, cuz i have lots of photos, from my camera and others, actually could add up to 1000 photos. And the photos are damn nice....

Anyway, just a preview... Ha
