Wow, time seems to fly fast huh and before u know, in 5 hours time, it will be year 2005!

It has been raining the whole day, perhaps as a way to mourn the 130,000 deaths from the Tsunami tragedy before we cross over to 2005. . . Sometimes, maybe we should be glad we are safe and sound in Singapore, yea, and not complain too much. Ermmm, i just dont like the hot weather, but at least for the past 2 days, it was cooling with temperature hovering around 26 degrees. . .

In year 2003 around this time, i was sort of in a little state of depression. But in early 2004, i managed to walk out of it. Afterall, i found it rather foolish to let small things bothered me. . .

Of the list of resolutions i've made for the new year 2004, i've not accomplished few of them. . To name a few -- I din get my driving license by July 2004; I din manage to learn a new langauge - Japanese/Korean; I din manage to save $1500 from my NS pay in the entire year 2004 and this i thought was quite an extreme failure. . But at least i got my iPod and digital camera. . .

Back to the mundane stuff - NS. Yah, i've seen a lot of people ORDing, perhaps over 20 of the entire RP platoon. And recently, Jason and David and our infamous Malaysian PC just ORD in 20 Dec. Woohoo. A lot of changes in camp now and we have just moved our bunk to a non-air con one. I've been made an IC for my section and since then, it seems there were a number of conflicts between us and those attached sergeants. The past 3 days were not that good because a few things just happened. Well, i just hate those sergeants. Worst, i was faced with remarks like 'YOU ALL HAVE NO BRAINS' and 'WALKING ZOMBIE' from a reservist doctor(MO) on thursday morning. I shant elaborate how that happened but nonetheless, i've complained that MO to Staff Toh and he will send an email to that MO's chief clerk. Damn him. . .

Well, life's like that.

Had quite a few gatherings/meet ups with friends, much more actually as compared to year 2003. The two most memorable perhaps were the gathering on Labour day and the chalet on october. There was also a gathering for my VJC class in Jan. Not forgetting the many KTV and clubbing sessions i had this year. . .

This year's christmas was fun as compared to 2003's though we din go countdown party as planned. . .

Today - New's year eve - was a little toned down perhaps due to the disaster on 26 Dec but nonetheless, im going out soon for the usual lan gaming session as part of the celebration. . .

Yoz! Merry X'mas!! But it will be over soon in a few minutes time. Haha.

Anyway, stayed home this christmas, mainly to sleep. Yea, almost the same as last year's except i slept even more this year... haha.

Went out to orchard yesterday at around 9pm. The four of us walked around orchard, up and down, squeezed through the crowd, getting sprayed and sprayed those snow thing til like 1am... yah, trying to get ourselves into the Christmas mood. People there were quite crazy sia... Ha.

And so we went ktv at party world at Crown Prince hotel at 1am and sang all the way til 4am. GY joined us at around 1.45am though... and after ktv, was quite surprised to find there were still so many people especially at Cineleisure. The crowd there at 4am was like a normal saturday afternoon. Movies were all sold out at 4.30am!

And so we walked like crazy and ended up resting at PS for a while before taking the sardin-packed first train home at 6.30am.

I only slept at 8am, only woke up at 1pm for lunch. Then i went back to sleep again at 2pm and woke up at 7pm!! Ha.. slept too much already but i still feel tired..

Anyway, going back camp tmr morning for duty after such a long break since 21Dec. Ahhh, so sian!

158 days to liberation!!!

Ahh... it's been quite some time since i last blogged... Ha. Nothing much actually, just that i've been playing too much lan lately. All thanks to the addiction of WarCraft DoTa....

Anyway, christmas is near. Ha, din really get any presents for anyone, but this is the usual thing. Wanted to write some X'mas cards to send though. Still procrastinating...

Yeah, talk about procrastinating, my taiwan trip is still in the midst of discussion. Not much confirmation yet...

Back to about christmas, glad im on leave next week. Will on on break from 21 to 25 Dec. And yes, Alan is organising something on the eve... so maybe i shall look forward to it... haha

Ha.... Taufik actually got 62% of the votes while Sly got the remaining 38%... this just shows how much people were Anti-Sly....Ha.

Anyway, played 7hrs of lan just last week... Ahh, i've spent too much money on lan in nov and this month so far. All because of the addictive DoTA..

Worst, i cant play on my computer despite i've got back the cd and downloaded the file but still cant play. Damn.

Well, so far, my driving lessons have been quite boring. Kept going round and round Ubi that area. Only went to circuit once and my left leg was shaking after that.

I cant wait for my next long off + leave which is from 21 Dec to 25 Dec... ahhhh

Ha.... i've been waking up at like 12++ noon for the past 3 days. It's been so long since i get to enjoy such indulgence... Haha

Anyway, went to Johore on friday afternoon with Eugene and Ben. Only bought some snacks while they bought some movie dvds. We went to City Square, Plaza Pelangi and Leisure Mall(i cant remember the exact name). Only reached home at around 11pm with a little jam at the causeway.. ha

Went to play Lan at Park Lane with the usual people yesterday ie saturday. Played 4 rounds of 'DOTA' and my team only won once.. haha. Think im getting addicted to warcraft again after so long...

But my frozen throne original cd is with Wei Long. So i've got to get it back from him to play... Ha. Im gonna download DOTA and try playing if i can... heh

Yay... and so im on leave again. Good to have a break.

Was feeling so dull when i went back on monday for standby and duty. But i think the worst was some of the things that had happened that were making me feel terrible as an I/C...

Incident 1 - On monday(standby), Eugene, Robin, Nash & Amos were questioned by the 3 sergeants for what happened on last friday. I wasnt present cuz im on leave. So i only got to find out they din keep the under carriage mirror after their last duty at parade square at 6pm. Yah, by right only 2 should be responsible but in fact all 4 were involved cuz they changed duty somehow. Then the lamps at the mirror were on throughout the nite and then one of the fluorescent lamp fused. So the sergeants held them and me responsible. But since i wasnt there, david was called in. But david went to buy dinner that time, so he din remind them to keep the mirror also. And so they got a warning. Later Sgt Koh the hypocrite told me he had FIGHT for us with PC already and that the next time such thing happen again, the 2 involved will sign 3 confinements and I will sign 1 for not ensuring the mirror is kept. Fine.

Incident 2 - Same day. After the duty ended at 7pm we got to send arms. Then later, Sgt Huang found out Augustine had forgotten to sign in. Damn. I called Aug and asked him to come back immediately to sign since that day we had nights off and he went out. So now this translated to 'it's my fault' cuz i din ensure everyone sign. Well, i only checked the number of magazines cuz Sgt Huang asked me too. And i was sitting outside the armskote room til everyone had sent their arms. I din really check if everyone sign. Sianz.

Incident 3 - It's duty day already. And after our duty and lunch, we were called to clean the old OPs room since we have just moved. Damn. We were the duty section and we were resting. Such cleaning jobs should be the job of the standby section. Well, I answered the call from ops room and received the orders but i din say much. The rest grumbled about it and so Eugene called back. In the end, we still have to clean. But it was nothing much. Just cleared some rubbish lying on the floor and tables. Argh.

Incident 4 - Max and Victor woke up late in the morning to open gate B. By right gate B got to be opened at 6am, 6.15am the latest, but they only woke up at 6.30am and it was me who woke them up. They probably only opened gate b at around 6.40am and got to face a few angry staffs who were waiting outside the gate. Well, it was probably my fault again. I woke up at 6.11am and wanted to wake max up. He was late already but cuz i just woke up and was still in a drowsy state, i went back to sleep, thinking maybe he would wake up at 6.15am. Victor was also sleeping soundly throughout til Max woke him up. Crap.

Incident 5 - And so it was our last 2 hours of duty before our duty ended at 9am. I wasnt doing duty cuz im the extra person. All other 7 people were already at their respective stations. So my job would be walking around to each stations. So i went to gate B where Max and Victor were. Max told me 2IC already came and he came at around 6.30am. That was early. Then 2WO Lim, our OPs 2I/C came to me.

"So Pok, you know what had happened?" 2I/C asked me.
"Erm.. what?" I answered, thinking maybe it's gate b incident.
"You dont know? You all last night duty right... huh, you dont know what happened yet?"
"Erm is it gate b?" I asked softly.
"No lah. u know what happened at gate a just now?"
"Aaahh.. they took over late?" Well, actually gate A was taken over at around 7.15am. By right it should be 7am.
"Wah lao.. i came in at 6.30am from gate a and only saw 1 people there. The other one wasnt there at all..... ... ..." Then he continued to talk about how it wasnt right to leave 1 people on duty like that. If 1 of them has stomachache then ask for replacement. blah blah blah.......

Ok, so i was asked to gather everyone later behind the OPs room building after our duty ended and he wanted to talk to us. Sigh... why must such thing happened. It was Eugene and Aug on duty that time. So i thought maybe Aug had gone to buy breakfast and thus left 1 person on duty at gate. And also, they were quite unlucky cuz 2I/C came quite early and got caught. A lot of people always do that - buy breakfast and go toilet and din get caught. Sigh.

So i went to OPs room first to check the ammo book if everyone sign and also to sign book out before going to parade square to tell eugene and aug about it and also gate a....

Incident 6 - When i thought that morning was bad enough already, i was told of an even worse news. Upon entering OPs room, Ngo (the duty clerk) told me 3 people din draw ammo. Oh what the fark. Ngo told me probably the 3 at gate A now din draw. Well, they signed the book and din draw! Then David came in. He was shocked and angry also. I thought so this was my fault again. I never thought they would forget to draw ammo. When the 3 of them went to OPs room at 7am for duty, i stayed in the bunk to make milo before going to OPs room to check if they signed. So this means i have failed to ensure they draw the ammo...Probably I shouldnt have make milo and should have went to OPs room with them....

I went out of OPs room, following david cuz he said he wanted to scold them already. He went to gate b while i went to parade square. I told eugene about what 2I/C had told me and found out it was Eugene who went to toilet to pee.. I already felt so angry that at this time, Augustine, as usual, wanted to go toilet and had already taken out his SBO and asked me to take over him for a while for him to go toilet. I told him to wait lah. Im going gate a first cuz it was a more serious case. Yet he still said he needed to go. I ignored him and walked away and said 'later lah' loudly at him.... i havent told them about the ammo case yet.

And so i went to Amos who was at roundabout first. I asked him if he draw ammo. His face gave a wierd look first before checking his magazine and later turned to a stunned one. Yes, he realised he had forgotten to draw ammo. I told him all 3 of them din draw ammo and that 2I/C wanted to see us later. I went to gate A where Nash and Robin were. "So did u all draw ammo?" I asked. Both of them checked and gave me a shocked look. I told them 3 of them din draw. They were worried but i told them 2I/C din noe yet. Also, i told them about the Eugene case. I went back to Amos who was so worried. But i told him 2I/C wanted to see us was about leaving 1 person at gate case, not the 3 of them. He was relieved. Then Sgt Poh - the duty specs for last night came. He knew about it. He talked to the 3 of them.

I went back to gate B and told Max and Victor about it. They already knew cuz david told them already but they only thought 1 of them din draw, not 3. Then i saw David went to OPs room with Sgt Poh. So i left with them.

David with Sgt Poh quickly discreetly loaded the 3 magazines with ammo while i was told to go out and keep a look out for 2I/C. Shortly david came out and passed me one loaded magazine to keep in pocket. We needed to go back to gate A and passed them back. Problem solved. Thanks to Sgt Poh. If it was other sgts, probably the 3 of them would have signed confinement already.

The gate B case was nothing much since 2I/C also din realise about it despite he met Max outside OPs room at around 6.40am. He only asked Max who had replaced them so early and max told him they were actually going to open gate B. Luckily 2I/C din say anything after that, only smiled and said okay to them.

What's left was Eugene case. Sigh. Later 2I/C met us and warned us about this. He said next time he caught anyone leaving 1 person at the gate or even sleeping during the nights, that person be prepared to be charged.


Hiaz.... I was feeling so down after that. I just came back on monday after a 4 days break and i've got to face all these. Cuz in fact all these that happened, im to be responsible directly or indirectly since im the section I/C. David was partly responsible also since he was the I/C but now he is going to ORD in less than a month, so by right all these jobs fall onto me. So in the end, i've only got myself to blame for not ensuring everything is okay, in place and done. But then all these rarely happened in the past. It was only when the relative new guys came and such things such as forget to sign this and that, forget to draw or return ammo had surfaced...

Ahhh..... Feel so stress. I've never wanted to be an I/C cuz i've foreseen all these huge responsibilities. But they chose me cuz im the most senior there already. Sigh. Eugene is the 2I/C and he wont have that much responsibilities... And i told quite a few of them i wanted to step down in January... but i know it is quite impossible..

Well, what to do? I still have 188 days before leaving this dreaded place.........

The thought of going back camp tomorrow is so dreary. Ahhh... have been staying home since thursday til today. Yah, 4 days break.

Ha, i wanted to have sufficient sleep for 4 nights at home with my 2 days leave but it turned out not with my 'night activities'. Haha..

Anyway, on friday night, went to Elvin's house for majong. We were supposed to meet at 11pm but because of the nice cooling rainy weather and *ahem* YH, we were sitting beside the car porch and chatted til about 1am before starting on our majong. Well, it ended at about 5.15am and i reached home at 5.45am, thanks to Hope's lift. Ha, i slept from 6am to about 3pm then....

It wasnt a night sleep!

On saturday, after waking up at 3pm, went to watch The Incredibles at AMK Jubilee at 6.30pm with JX, JL and Alan. It was quite a nice movie. Quite funny also. Ha. Anyway, YH called me during the movie and asked us to go for KTV. Well, told him i will let him know after the movie.

So in the end, we went to Crown Prince Hotel Party World for KTV. The session was from 10pm to 2am. We had 8 people. We were playing dai dee also. Ha. Then we went to play Lan at cineleisure. The lan shop closed at 5am so we stayed til it closed.

Anyway, the lan shop is a cheater. We played less than 3 hours, so supposedly they should charge us less than $7.50 (rate is $2.50/hr). But we were charged $7.70 for about 2hrs 40mins. I still remembered i ask that person why it was $7.70 since we played less than 3hrs. He still blatantly replied they charged by the minutes. So i asked how much is 1 hr. He said '$2.50'. So why is it not less than $7.50??

He didnt bother to help us check the receipt, only asked us to check ourselves. It just showed he was not concerned about the discrepancies. And why? Because it is obvious to me he knew the computer system is out to cheat money. He realised we have found out and were calculative. That's why he said 'they charged by the minutes' when i asked him. Just showed he was prepared to use such an unable-to-challenge answer to deal with us since it was the computer who calculated, not him.

Well, later when we were standing outside the shop, deciding whether to smash the shop's glass door or leave, we thought that maybe they charged us $3 per hour which was the rate for internet usage ($2.50/hr is lan gaming). But hey, he said 1 hr is $2.50 when i asked him! Damn. Cheater! But since the rest didnt want to pursue the matter, we left.

It was 5.15am already.

Simon and his friend left in a taxi. Well the 6 of us wanted to have breakfast. So we went to Jalan Kayu in YH's car to eat roti prata. Ha, was playing 'asshole dai dee' again. And we left the place at around 7am. Ahh... i only slept at 8am, but til 4pm. Ha.

Yah, it was the second night i slept in the morning.

This is bad. We are like living in London - based on their time (Singapore time is GMT+8. So minus 8hrs and we probably will have London's time.) So when i slept at 8am, it was 12am in London.

Anyway, at least i didnt waste my leave doing nothing but stayed at home. Yah, i have to go back tomorrow already but on the bright side, wednesday is my off, and thursday and friday are my leave again. Haha... Will have break from wednesday to sunday...

Cool..

Ahhh... finally. Im on leave tomorrow and saturday. Will be going back for standby and duty on monday.

I think i really need a break and yah, the leaves come in handy, though quite short. I already have applied my leave for this year. Total of 8 days.

Anyway, had another PT on tuesday. Ran 5km with some static exercise. And now, my legs are aching, just after my arms had just recovered from that last PT.

Yah, it was my arms. Now it is my legs and thighs to ache.

Oh, read from newspaper that there may be meteor shower from 17Nov til 20Nov and between 2am til dawn. So maybe will stick my head out of my windows later to see if i could catch any.. haha

Ahh.... What a day!

Was feeling kinda mixed a few moments ago. But now, after thinking it through and cooling down, im quite okay now. Anyway, today im standby but Staff Toh, the duty specs let us go home but gotta be back tmr morning for duty. So here i am...

Here's what has happened today......

Sgt Huang actually told me at noon time before our duty that we will have physical traing (PT) at 3.30pm. Either he or Sgt Lang will take us. But after our duty has ended at 2pm, we received no further instructions from him or Sgt Lang... and so we went back bunk and rest..

At about 4pm, a few of us were sleeping then but not all. I was just about to go back to my bed when Sgt Huang came into our bunk and said, "Hey Pok, wake everyone up and go for PT now..."

What the hell, i thought. Our duty is at 5pm and now is 4pm already. Usually our PT, if any, is around 3pm. Well, i just mumbled, "4pm already leh," and trying to act defiant, i ignored him and continued climbing back to my bed..

Then he asked everyone to wake up again. Nobody moved. Me too. Eugene asked me to change but i told him not to bother about it. It's 4pm already leh.. This time, Sgt Lang shouted, "HEY WAKE UP!"

It worked. Unreluctantly, we went to change. When changing i felt so pissed. I called OPs room and asked for Staff Toh who was the duty specs.

"Staff Toh, we are going to do PT now and it's 4pm now."
"Huh? So late? Who asked you all to do PT?" He asked.
"Sgt Huang."
"Ask him to the phone. I'll talk to him."

I knew it. Staff Toh was not informed of such PT going on. Those attached sergeants always do many 'under the table' stuffs. But who can we tell?

Anyway i passed the handphone to Sgt Huang who was in the toilet and i went back to change first. We waited. But still we went for PT. The PT ended at 4.30pm and we rested for a while before going for duty at 5pm.

Later at 7pm after our duty. All our section were in the OPs room because Staff Toh wanted to talk to us. Yes, he said maybe Sgt Huang wasnt right to ask us do PT at 4pm since it never was this late. But he said Sgt Huang had assured him the PT will end at 4.30pm on the phone, that's why, he let Sgt Huang continued with the PT.

But he said after he talked to Sgt Huang about it and then was kinda surprised but disappointed that our section had reacted such way, that we din obey orders from him. He said Sgt Huang was quite angry about it and even thought maybe we had some grudges against him.

Then Staff Toh questioned me whether i did really go back to bed after Sgt Huang told me to ask everyone to wake up. I said yup but because i thought he was perhaps joking about it and thus i didnt treat it seriously. And i said something like 'hey it's 4pm already!' and a few others also told him 'It's 4pm already' but he insisted on having PT.... Staff Toh then said he was especially surprised to know i did such a thing.

Well, then Staff Toh continued talk about like respecting orders since they are all 3SG and hence are our superiors, that Sgt Huang is actually a good sergeant, that he is new here (This is bullshit i thought. This is the 3rd time he is attached to us. First was last year november/december. Then May/June this year and now. So obviously not new.), that he has not had any men under him before, so not much experienced. And also for what we did, or i did particularly, it will be quite disadvantageous to us in the future.... blah blah blah.

Okay, after all these, we left OPs room and get ready to send arms and book out. And then something interesting happened again -- Robin's one magazine couldnt be found. According to him, he and Amos had put the rifle and magazine at the chair before going up to OPs room. And now, it was missing.

We were trying to find it. And i asked Robin what time he had put his rifle there. Then i said, 'Ha, maybe someone took it on purpose lor... like you-know-who?' Wei long heard me and went 'huh, cannot be lah...' Yah, i was implying Sgt Huang because Max, Wei Long and I saw him leave at around 6.50pm when we were at Gate B. Robin and Amos also went up to OPs room around that time also. So it was possible that he took it.

Robin went up to OPs room to look for it while some of us were looking for it in bunk. Then guess wat??!! I found it in the pocket of Sgt Huang's uniform which is hanging at the cupboard near the chair where robin had put his rifle. Eugene and Max saw the magazine in the pocket also when i said out loud that i've found it. Staff Toh asked me and I showed him where i have found it.

Staff Toh gathered us again and told us this was too coincidental. He said Sgt Huang could not have put there himself. It was too obvious. And that he had left early. Staff Toh even questioned section 3 about it. He was puzzled.

No one saw. No one did. No one knew.

Never mind. He just reminded us again about keeping our things, especially rifles properly before dismissing us.

Ha, i had thought it was Sgt Huang who tried to sabotage us. And i think he thought we would think he is not stupid enough to put the magazine at such obvious place (his own uniform). And hence he was not the one. But who knows. The mystery has not solved yet.

But anyway, im felt quite bad after that for what i did. Yah, because i will probably cause the whole section to get aim by the sergeants in future. Or even have a lot of tough PT in future. Well, i dunno if others will blame me for today, but who cares? I dont carry balls.

And hey, at least i did something. At least I informed Staff Toh, hoping he could stop the PT and know what these sergeants are actually doing. This is unlike of David who is our I/C and did nothing. Like last time when we were asked to clean the cigarettes-littered staircase. David just said, 'Ok, let's go.'

Sigh..... well, this is the SAF. This is the Army. Perhaps, i shall stay low profile as I/C in the coming days till i get out of this sickening place. This is perhaps for the entire section own good.

Be an obedient and favoured section!

At first when i thought im not going to taiwan anymore, hopes came back. Yah, i asked pple again and yay, im on the track of going to taiwan for tour this december..But hopes dashed when i went down to people's park to check with the many tour agencies there.

Damn.

Yes, a normal 5D/4N tour with Chanbrothers cost $700+ after taxes according to the website and is travelling with China Airline. Or a 4D/3N, totally free & easy tour with any agency will cost around $600+ with China Airline.

But when checked with them personally, we were told ALL flights with china airline to taiwan at december are fully booked! And we were left with Singapore Airline(SIA).

Ok then...... so when we added the price difference and calculated, the same tour with Chanbrothers rocketed to $910. And those free and easy ones are at least $800.. Too expensive to handle. So i guess, it's off again.

Well, maybe next year during off peak season then will go to taiwan. In the meantime, i shall consider to go cheaper countries like bangkok to shop.

The worst scenario is i shall spend my 7.5 days leave in singapore... at least after some planning, i could get 2 different super long weekends - break from wednesday to sunday & thursday to sunday. With just 7.5 days leave, i could get a total accumulative break of 18 days inclusive of off days that is!!!

Some consolation.

I shall look forward to my breaks i've been longing for.

Well... i guess most probably i wont be going overseas already... So sianz. Nobody wants to go. But at least the positive consolation is i got to save money for better trip next year. Ha.

Anyway, after david and jason ORD in december, I will become my section I/C while Eugene the second I/C. I dun really want to be I/C. Crap responsibilities. Worst, i will probably have more chance to come in contact with those OPs specs and even my PC and this is something i loathe.. But well, i have no choice. After david and jason, I am the most lao jiao already among all the 20+ RPs...

But perhaps to others, the benefit of being an I/C is that we dont need to do day duty, unless we are short of people. Yah, all 7 of them got to stand at gate, with SBO and rifle while i got to walk around with nothing but my beret. I experienced this once on last friday but more will come. Well, dont really like also because i simply dont know where to go would be best.

Still, i gotta do night duty. But I dont really mind it.

Hiaz... Maia is out! Not the kinda results i wanna see.. And i think the longer Christopher stays in Singapore Idol, the more i hate him... oh, watever!

Anyway, I have 7.5 days of leave to clear by this year!! And the new pc is pressing me to apply the leave fast because they have to plan in advance. Hmm.. i dont really know what they have to plan actually...

So anyone wanna go overseas?? I dont really want to spend my 7.5 days of leave sleeping at home....

I still like to go Seoul. But i guess i will be scolded if i do go cuz that will be my third time. It is unlike Bangkok or KL where u can go many times.. But hey, i do like to experience winter and snow!! Oh well, guess Taiwan is my next choice. At least the weather is cool enough... heh

Ahhh...

Yah, wat an eventful week i had...

But first, on thursday, so we had our exercise again. Went on smoothly as expected. Ha, and we got our nights off. Yeah, it was Wei Long's treat for our dinner at Seoul Garden. And it was the first time, the entire section went for dinner together. Yah, 8 of us. Well, it was a treat cuz Wei Long had actually won $20K+ from online betting of soccer the previous nite. He is insane. He bets so much money and i wondered how rich he actually is... he can place $5k on a single match and lost it. And still bet some more the next time. Anyway, i cant do it..

So on saturday, it was THE Day. After so much planning, it was time for chalet. Yeah.. ha. Quite tiring to organise something like this. Just got to take care of many things. Ahh... but nevertheless, the turn out is good. We had 15 people. But not all stayed. But it was ok.

BBQ was not that bad. Just had too much food to finish. Quite a waste though. Only the drinks were in high demand.. haha

Played majong and cards the entire nite. I didnt sleep despite i was so tired from duty the previous nite, sleeping not more than 4hrs total. After the majong, had a short sleep, probably less than 1hr i guess. Then i was up to pack and wait to check out...

Had breakfast/lunch at Mac's with the remaining 6pple at Bedok before heading home. And im so dead tired that i slept from 3pm to 9pm, only to wake up to have my dinner. Then i just gotta go back camp already, but to sleep again... haha.

Anyway, just as i was looking at the receipt from renting of the bbq pit and stand, i realised at the bottom part was a detachable portion, there was a small print that says

Please detach and return lower portion together with BBQ Pit & Stand to the kiosk.

OH NO!!! I think I forgot to return them the pit! We just checked out of the chalet, went straight to the bus bay and waited for the shuttle bus to Bedok and had our breakfast. I just left the pit outside the room and it was there, the same position when we started bbqing and til it ended and we checked out....

There was one clause of the Terms and Conditions at the back of the receipt that says:

3. Rental items returned in exceed the booking date/time or rental period shall be liable to pay rental fee up to the date/time of return from the expiry date/time including staff overtime if beyond operation hours.

Hmmm... hopefully i wont get a phone call one day from them saying, "Hi. Sorry to inform you that you are liable to pay $128.55 inclusive of staff overtime pay and GST as of today for the late return of the bbq pit you've rented from us and that we had eventually found it lying outside your room. Please come down to our kiosk to pay the outstanding balance as soon as possible because until you have come down, you will still be considered to have rented our bbq pit. Thus any further rental fee will still be charged to you. Thanks for your cooperation and hope to see you soon..... "

Ha, i was crapping but nonetheless, they can easily obtain my contact number from Costa Sands since they have my room unit number.... But hopefully that wont happen. =p

Well, we have a new PC... ha, glad that our ex-Malaysian-now-Singapore PR PC is going to ord in december and is clearing leave now. We thought he is going to extend his service as wat he had told many of us. But now, think he is not going to extend. And even if he extend, he will be posted somewhere else..

But then, Ngo told me the new pc is a fren of that malaysian pc. Damn. Pull string here and there again. Yes, this is army.

Our section has been quite unlucky.

Yah, we changed gate A tentage on tuesday. David and Jason were on MC. Amos on overseas leave. And so the 5 of us fixed gate a, b & parade square tentage with those wooden planks placed underneath. This was said to reduce heat trapped under the tentage according to our new 2I/C - a 2nd Warrant officer. Crap. Din actually work. And yes, Section 2 did NOTHING. Section 3 painted all 20 pieces of wooden planks the size of a table tennis table.

Then we had this excercise to simulate bomb blast within camp. Yes, we had 6 different scenarios. Section 3 did the rehearsal on last monday, and supposedly on thursday also for COL Toh to see. But they postponed. So we kena!

We did this exercise on friday. Oh, Amos still on leave. And yes, it was our standby. No rest at all. Exercise was in the morning. And we had debrief in the afternoon after our lunch at 2.15pm!! So damn hungry by that time. Well, the commandants were not satisfied. Signboards were out of place. Signs not secured properly. Blah blah blah.... and so, we will repeat this exercise again next thursday, 14oct. Yes, it is our standby.

Hey wait. Section 2 still has not come into picture yet.....

Ok, so since signboards were not satisfactory. We gonna redo it. And who is doing it? Who else but WE!! Yes, the 2I/C asked us to do either on that friday nite or following monday. Yes, monday we are on standby again.

Then lastly, the 2I/C said, we will do this exercise on thurs. And friday, section 2 will do it. Finally, section 2 has got something to do!

And before the debrief ended, we were yet given another task - to CLEAN the staircase near that OPs room cuz cigarette butts were everywhere. Damn. This is obviously not our problem. Our section has never had any smoker. This is none of our business. I told that 2i/c that we were not the one who smoked and furthermore, we had cleaned and washed the same staircase last time. And he said, aiyah, it's simple job. Just sweep away the butts and also clear the papers littered at the first floor. Damn. And still gave us assurance that next time he sees anyone throw butts there, even if it is the specs, he will punish them. Ha, who believe.

Obviously, all those cigarettes were from the OPs specs. Even section 2 and 3 have smokers, they dun smoke there. It is so far from our bunk. Well, nvm. We cleaned the staircase. Everyone were just complaining. Worse was, sgt kai chong and junior were smoking at the staircase while we doing our job. Crap.

Later when we went back to ops room for duty at 5pm, kai chong gathered us and told us some crap. It was such a pissed off 'speech'. This is army. Not a chalet. You all just have to follow orders. No point complaining and showing ur attitude. That will not gain u anything. Just do ur job and u can get ur nights off. And dun compare with other sections. Fool. I wanted to voice out something during his 'advice', but i refrained from doing so. Nevermind about it. It will just make me seems im showing attitude.

Lesson 1: Showing temper = Showing attitude.
Lesson 2: Voicing our discontentment = Showing attitute.
Lesson 3: Dont compare with other sections. Compare ur rank with ur superiors first.
Lesson 4: Dont complain in the presence of sergeants/superiors. Do in behind their backs. Dont let them hear u. Or u will be labelled as highly attitude problematic.
Lesson 5: Apply leave in advance. MC will be perfect too.

Yes, I dun really care about having nights off or not. The issue is about justice and fairness and not about nights off. Why should we be the one to clean their asses after they shitted?

Watched Singapore Idols and the results show. Kinda disappointed. A lot have been said in those forums and yah, all were about the same - how Jeassea should get in and not Jerry... blah blah blah.

Well, SI had become a popularity show and not a talent one. So i guess next week, either Maia, Daphne or Leandra will be eliminated. Just because they are not guys. Fans of F4, 5566, Energy etc are probably watching this show... haha. And i supposed the rich contestants will probably go far. 90% of the votes probably come from the contestants' families and friends.

You would have guessed - Nana, Shirin, Beverly, Jeassea are non-chinese. Oh, are they still studying? Guess not, so probably they wont have much school frens to support them. I dunno......

Anyway, Im just too lazy to go down to Costa Sands at east coast. I need to book the chalet in person. Still have 14 days to 16oct. Hopefully, it wont be fully booked by the time i go down to book on next monday or thurday.

Hmmm.... sometimes i just have too much thoughts that ought to be written down here. But once i get here, just cant remember any... ha. Especially when i have insomnia, a lot of things just go around my head. Perhaps that explains why i cant sleep.. haha. But i have no problem when i sleep at home... =)

Ahh... been staying home since yesterday after my driving in the afternoon... But then i would rather stay home than running the Army Half Marathon.... haha

It wasnt a compulsory event for us... but for some camps, it is. Lucky for me. Didnt run last year also. Heh..

Anyway, my driving test is set on January 17 2005. Still have more than 3 months. And my next lesson will be my eleventh already... The more u drive, the more dreary u will feel. Yah, so much restrictions when learning. No speeding. No beating the red light. Always keep left when necessary. Must stop before the 'Stop' line no matter what before moving.... blah blah blah.

Well, we have no choice right. Learning is a phase. Getting license is the ultimate aim. Before that, let's just be safe driver yo.

Nights out! Yah, we were awarded one.. that is able to book out on standby nite and book in the next morning 7.15am. A bit too early though. Well, usually when we have nights off, we can also book out after 7.30pm but gotta book in the same nite, maybe say 11.30pm. And today, we can book in tmr morning...

Well, this is due to the extra duties we did during that 1 week of high alert period during 911. YAh, but we were only given 1 nights out. Section 2 has 3 and section 3 has 2..

But anyway, guess i will book in tonight cuz i dont want to wake up 5.30am tmr.. i rather want to sleep til 8.30am if i book in tonight... heh

Oh well, DSTA has already started 5 days week. CMPB not yet. Some departments in Tower B still working on saturdays. And we?? Lucky we just started a '5-day-week-kinda-duty-schedule'...

This means in addition to the usual 'saturday-off, sunday-standby' long weekend, we have another long weekend -- 'friday-off, saturday-standby'. Yeah, means we able to book out on friday morning for our off and book in saturday 2359 or sunday morning, depending on the duty specs decision.. heh.

This looks good isnt it. Ha. Imagine we are off on friday and saturday, then sunday duty and off on monday again. Or off on saturday, sunday, then monday duty and tuesday off again... heh.

Finally finished reading The Da Vinci Code. Well, i only read during duty days, that's why i used about 1 week+ to finish it.

Quite a good book i can say. But i think some of the things said inside can be quite offending to Christians. Yes? No?? I dunno. Im free thinker anyway.. =p

Today is 911! Yah, and wat we probably hated most is when there is a bomb blast happening in the region. Jakarta got it again. And it is just 2 days before 911.

Last year August, Jakarta also had an explosion at a hotel. And cuz of that, we were on high alert for 3 months. That means no long weekend. No book out on sat standby.

I certainly hope the threat con will not increase again despite the same thing happened again....

Anyway, watched Singapore Idol and i just dont like Jerry and Taufik. It's a pity Beverly and Nana didnt get into top 3 despite they were much better than Jerry. Ha, and from CNA news, people were saying Jerry got into top 3 cuz of church affiliation, just like Ho Yeow Sun.... hmmmm, i wont be surprised.

Bought The Da Vinci Code last tuesday. Ahhh, back to reading after quite some time. The last book i read was Prey. The Da Vinci Code has been best selling for months already. Yah, peter and junlin were reading it too. Back camp, 3 other people were also reading. So guess it is a damn good book... ha

Ha... went swimming yesterday after so long.... I think i last swam in Jan or Feb in 2003. Yah, not during BMT cuz all swimming lessons were cancelled then due to SARS..

And now, my arms were a bit aching already. This is bad. Just shows how slack i am for so long even though im in NS... haha.

Maybe will try to swim more. Yah, i want to tan. Haha. Cuz of my duties in camp, i have two different colours at my arms. Thanks to my smart no.4 uniform i wear everytime.

Just few more days to pay day!! Im trying very hard to save for the past 2 months already. It just sucks.

Anyway, had driving today again. Learned some U-turn techniques at a relative empty car park and i kept turning and turning. Then drove to Ubi from Toa Payoh. Quite cool cuz i was driving a bit fast. Perhaps reached to 70km/hr... haha. Then drove round the area for some time before heading back to toa payoh...

Hmmm... think im learning too slowly cuz now im having just 1 lesson per week. Yah, din have any lessons on weekends cuz that will mean $3 more. Maybe when closer to TP and when i need more lessons then will learn on peak hours... heh

And so had my fourth lesson today. Quite smooth i believe and he taught me how to move off when on slope. Not so easy to master the skill if u want to perfect it. Well, it takes time...

Watched the Singapore Idol and yah, the top 3 were kinda expected. Saw that Benjamin Eio a few times before. He was from MDC last time and last time, MDC was just beside CMPB... And he is really quite short.... ha

Anyway, life goes on.....

Ahh.... My modem was spoilt a week ago and so i din have any internet connection... Yah, so went down to the modem vendor office today and they actually exchanged my old modem with a new one free of charge... and now im back.

Yah, din have the time to redo my blog template cuz i din have internet connection... well, shall do it next time when i've lot of time... haha.

So lazy....

Had my third driving lesson today. Quite alright.

Hmmm.... from now onwards, we gotta book in in jeans/pants and shoes. No more bermudas and sandals/slippers. So troublesome. Yah, i know most camps already been doing that and we got the privilege to book in in berms and sandals. But now, not anymore. Yah, that newly posted LTC changed all these... damn.

Sheeesh.... dunno why my blog suddenly became like that. I didnt even touch my template...

Nevermind. I shall give a new look to my blog this weekend.. =)

And so i had my driving lesson today. I think the most 'memorable' was when i stalled in the middle of a busy junction when i wanted to make a right turn.....

Wat was happening??!!

I was waiting for cars to clear before i could turn. Cars cleared and i could start to move. BUT, i started very slowly. I began to panic cuz im moving so slowly that cars opposite will crash onto me if i still dun move. I panicked. My mind was blank. My car suddenly couldnt move. Cars behind me were horning me. Yes, i was right in the middle of the road and that's when i stalled!

I restarted the engine. Panicked. CarS horning me. My car couldnt move again. Car stalled the second time!! The instructor also panicked and hurried me to step on accelerator and release clutch at biting point and move! That made me more panic. He kept telling me to hurry and hurry. YAh, at this point, i was blocking the entire traffic!

But finally, when the car moved off, i was relieved. My instructor was relieved. And he told me the worst to happen is to stall in the middle road especially in the middle of a cross junction somemore. Then he told me my car couldnt move cuz i released over the biting point. And i din step enough accelerator. Yah, i was so kan cheong that my mind was blank and thus such thing happened.

Haha.... it was a lesson to learn though...

Stayed home to watch the parade and then the Singapore Idol! It was funny at some how contestants sang.. Saw xiong kun on the tv but only for like 3 seconds.... That stripper was disgusting and he was the infamous eye-brow plucker at orchard. Nonetheless, it is a nice show.

Gotta book in later... yah, so sianz...

Finally the thing that have been bothering me is solved. Nothing is lost. Good.

Ha, bought Jay's latest album, Qi Li Xiang. 4 songs are the slow type, nice to listen. The rest mostly fast/rap songs. But overall not that bad. Yah, the song Qi Li Xiang is the best i think.... hmmm

Well, finally i had my first driving lesson today. The car is Honda City. Not a car i like but i have no choice.. ha.. Stalled 2 times right at the beginning. After that, all was well. Drove round toa payoh. It was kinda of scary cuz i din expected it. David's first lesson only drove forward and backward no more than 50metres. And my first lesson already on the road round toa payoh. There were so many cars and buses. Drove past the bus terminal twice and was kinda of worried i will stall in the middle of the road at the traffic lights and jammed up the whole traffic. Haha... luckily nope.

And furthermore, i reached the 4th gear already, driving slightly more than 40km/h. Quite fast to me.

Hmmm... think i need to practise more on my co-ordination of the legs. Kinda of aching too cuz got to hold the foot at position at clutch. Overall, it was fun. Haha... well, will look forward to my next lesson next wed... hopefully i dun stall again.... heh heh

Hmmm... After thinking about it for quite sometime, and asking opinions from 3 people, i think i have made my decision. Yah, simon is right. Thanks ar. Felt much better after hearing what he had said.

Yah, perhaps i will be too stressed out with such a burden and i cant truly and fully enjoy myself and be happy. I can already feel the pressure right now for a month! So i guess i should act fast now to release myself.. ha. Losing a bit is fine with me.

And after so much of procrastination, i will start my first driving lesson next thurs. Yah... gotta go down to SSDC on friday to apply PDL.

Ah... i feel bad i din visit keith. Well, they went on friday nite but i was on duty. So cant go. Then planned to go today but only got to know he discharged yesterday.... ah

Hope he is getting better.

I read from newspaper that starting from next month, all cigarette packs must be printed with those gross pictures to discourage people from smoking. Cool move.

An eventful week i guessed.
 
We got free tix to Starlight cinema from SSG Toh and so we were given nights off on tuesday, 13 jun to go and watch. It was at fort canning and was showing The Day After Tomorrow. Quite crowded and we managed to find some space for 5 of us. Used newspaper to sit on though cuz it was raining during evening time. The weather was quite cooling.
 
Went to the M18 party at Chinablack on thursday. Only 4 of us. Music quite okay, hip hop, R&B and some pop music. Crowd not that bad. And we stayed til it closed at 3am. Yah, gy and alan managed to get telephone number.... haha
 
Hmmm... seems like many areas in Asia (china, taiwan, hong kong, korea, japan, even india) are facing some floods/storms/typhoons. Even in singapore, this month is especially a wet one when by right it should be a hot and dry month. It makes me wonder if all these are related or just coincidence..
 
Yup, heard keith got hospitalised. But dunno how bad he is.
 
 

Last saturday, a cocky LTC drove into the camp, stopped by the tentage, signalled Eugene to go over using his 2 fingers and said something to him. Then Eugene called Max and I to step out and give that LTC a high port salute. He saluted back.

I thought he was trying to find trouble with us since I thought he got pissed when Eugene signalled him to go when he came in.

But no.

He went parade square for check then we heard Lawrence's voice over the comms. He said that LTC scolded him "Why the FUCK he didnt salute him!" He even said something like "We all RPs are FUCKERS!" He demanded Lawrence to stay in the salute position til he drove off!

This is ridiculous. Eugene after hearing what Lawrence said on the comms about the vulgurities, then he said that LTC also said the same thing to him at the gate i.e. why the FUCK we didnt salute him.

Yah, so PC got the message and went to find him. So in the end, that LTC apologized, saying he was sorry for the verbal abuse. Crap.

After all these, we had to write statement about this incident. Law wrote he was a disgrace to SAF as a high ranking officer, to think he used the word 'Fuck' and 'Fuckers' on us. And that he was simply unreasonable that he wanted Law to stay in high port position all the way til he drove off.

Well, LTC is just LTC. We have seen so many officers walking in and out of our camp. We don't high port salute them even when they are in the car. The very best we do is only greet 'Morning/Afternoon Sir' when they walk in thru the gates.

Perhaps we only high port when BG and above come.

I still remember I have met 2 BGs before when they came to parade square. The first one, i didnt even greet him because the moment he wound down his car window, he asked if he could park. I didnt have the chance. Haha. The second BG, just greet only. Not even salute.

So why did that LTC Darius Lim demand that? Should take away the crabs off him.......

HA, finally e-prep is working. But i'm deciding between learning japanese or korean... each course is $184, but SAF gives us $300.. but we still need to pay 10% of the amount. hmmmm....

Procrastination is bad. I still havent started learning driving.

Just sent photos to develop and realised how high tech it was. I just need to put the cd-r and memory card into a machine, select which photo i want to develop, press ok and a receipt is printed. Then gave the receipt to the counter and that's it. They dun even need my cd-r and memory card to develop.

Ha, how ignorant i am. And each only cost $0.35 for a 4R glossy. About the same as you develop from negatives.

Anyway, I will probably be saving more photos from my computer into diskettes and develop them. Ha think I feel much more secure to have the photos in hard copy, when i can put them in albums than have them on the computer and online albums.

Trying hard to save money nowadays. Think i spent too much this year. Spent $1100+ just on my iPod and digital camera. Oh man.

Penny Dai and Jiang Mei Qi came to safra radio on monday evening... but too bad, I'm doing the parade square shift, so didnt manage to see them...

Woo hoo!! It was just announced that there will be a reduction in National service. Everyone will just serve 2yrs for those enlist on Dec 2004 onwards. That's 6months reduction for them. But for us, we still get 2 MONTHS reduction!

I will ORD on 1 JUNE 2005 instead of 1 AUG 2005!!

Went out for dinner with SSlim and Lawrence on sunday, 23may. Had an expensive dinner at Genghis Khan. It was my second time there. The picture in my previous post that show a pair of fish, those were the fish clips for teppanyaki in Genghis Khan.

How fake it was... On monday while doing duty at gate B, PC was there. And guess wat? He actually pat on my shoulder and said "Paiseh leh Pok. Last time yelled at you. Paiseh leh...." I just smiled back, saying nothing.

And when he said that i was drinking water and so he said "Weather is hot. Drink more water. Drink drink."

I screwed back the cap and put my bottle on the table.

"Drink more leh... drink drink." He said.

"Not enough lah, drink more... Hey Eugene, u drink more water also ah..." He also said to eugene who was also at gate B, doing duty with me.

Idiotic ex-Malaysian-now-turn-PR NSF assholic PC.

Watched Troy at Tiong Bahru plaza on friday nite with Slim, Nelson and Law. We had nites off. It was quite good i supposed..

Anyway, on that friday also when on duty from 5pm to 7pm, had a clash with PC. Well, cuz the gate was half closed after 6pm and we were supposed to check for incoming cars for labels etc. And we knew he was coming to gate A so we tried to look garang by standing near the gate and looked out for cars. And so he came and left to talk to Bala - DSTA security officer i supposed. And he was standing some distance away from the gate....

2 cars came in, the first was going to child care and the second was going to fetch someone from the career centre. I knew. He didnt. He saw it and thought we were just standing there and not doing anything. But we WERE looking at the cars label. He gestured to us something which i didnt see it but robin saw. He told me about it but i didnt bother. Never mind.

Another 2 cars came in. The first was child care. The second was a Gardenia van and it was a child care. I knew. This time, PC shouted across at us, "IF YOU GUYS DONT DO YOUR JOB, YOU WONT GET YOUR NIGHTS OFF TONIGHT!!"

Feeling unjustified, i shouted back at him, "THOSE TWO CARS ARE GOING TO CHILD CARE! IF YOU DONT BELIEVE, YOU CAN STOP THE CARS YOURSELF AND ASK THEM TO SHOW YOU THE PASS!!" He was still with Bala, but kept quiet..

Then he came to us. He asked me again why i let those 2 cars leave without stopping them to check. I told him the first was child care. Justified cuz the saloon car just looked like it was going to child care. But the Gardenia van?? I rebuked him, saying we see them going to child care everyday, morning and evening. How can i dont know. Yes it is a van and it looked like it is going to delivery instead but no! It is going to child care. Then he asked me what if their child is not in the child care and yet they come in. I just shrugged nonchalantly and turned my head away. I thought to myself that if he wants to say that, then might as well ask the child care centre to fax the attendance list of all children every morning and evening to Ops room and then we can check with their parents when they want to come in. How about those staffs who are on MCs or leave and come back camp? How about those staffs who are supposed to leave after work but stay back? Should we chase them away? Duh......

He then said why couldnt we stand a bit out so that we are able to stop the cars and check before letting them go. I said yah can. Then he asked why i didnt i do that. I told him here (I was standing on the pavement which is probably just 2metres away from what he suggested) also can! He commented im too complacent and left.....

Eugene and Robin were also with me at the gate but they kept quiet during our argument. Probably they were too stunned.

After duty, i asked Sgt Poh whether PC said anything to him. And he told me that PC was talking to him what had happened between he and me. I didnt probe on because i needed to change to go out for dinner and movie.

Anyway, PC always like to mark people. Probably after this incident, I may be aimed, who knows. But let him be. I wont give him any chance to catch me do anything wrong during duty.

Oh by the way, did i mention he is an ex-MALAYSIAN?? Now he is PR of singapore. Many of us hate him. And we know he still went back to Malaysia frequently. His family drives malaysia plate car and once came in CMPB to fetch him. Shouldnt he be ousted from CMPB? For who knows, he may be leaking SAF secrets to malaysians.....

Perhaps we should suggest to SAF that PRs, especially those who were once Malaysians not to be appointed officers and hold key positions in the SAF.

Sigh.... It was quite tears-inducing to witness a racist attempt to send Latoya London off. Paula was crying too. But no choice! She wont be back again.

Anyway, the lost keys case was obviously a set-up. Law said he had put the keys in the ops room table when at that time, there were at least 5ppl in the room. Nobody saw he put it as said by the 'witnesses'. The keys just magically went missing. And one day later they found it in the 2nd floor toilet. How the keys got there we dont know. He signed 1 confinement then. Law was arguing with Sgt Toh that if things got lost in the Ops room, why is it he should be responsible and not ops room fault? He did return the keys and no way did he go to the 2nd floor toilet. But never mind. If they want to set him up, sergeants will also help sergeants. This is the 2nd time such a suspected set-up occurred. The first was last year when Ben nearly got charged. His case was much worst when his loaded magazine actually got lost and in the end was found in the toilet. That case was confirmed a set-up because one of the attached sergeants had secretly told Law about it but no names were mentioned. We could actually gather any evidence and turn the table around and charge them instead for setting up such ploy and accused up for things we did not do. But then, what can we do????

Im feeling a bit uneasy about the things that had happened this morning when on duty. Im praying for the best. Or rather, nothing will be mentioned.

Law & Eugene somehow lost the gate B keys. It's amazing how the keys got lost. Well, they wrote statement. And the consequences? I dont know yet.

I feel so dreaded to go back again. Like almost everytime, it is so tiring......

Well din really celebrate much today. Felt so tired and troublesome to organize something for myself. Was going to play tennis with jx & peter but no courts available. KTV a bit ex on fri nite. Van helsing at bishan a bit late and far for jx.... So in the end, only had dinner with alan at toa payoh after getting myself a haircut. Simon wanted to go for a supper but i only finished my dinner at 9.30pm. Too late. So next time then.

Well actually last sat was meant to be an early celebration for me also. So i din bother too much today also...

Ha bought a digital camera for myself this morning. How pathetic isnt it? But i like it very much. I've been yearning for one for soooo long... Heh heh....

Ha... was surprised and glad that 2 of my primary school classmates still remember and msg me. Ok, I told them i shall not forget theirs too.... heh.

Maybe going to the nus law bash tmr at SOS... but see if situation allows first... :|

Sigh..... i wanted to get down to SSDC today to register but then, was sleeping from 1130am to 5pm!! Hmmm, maybe will go next week.

Ha, Melody Chen came to Power 98 yesterday and i checked her car. She was wearing specs and looked so tired. Maybe she juz woke up. Ha, at least i got to talk to her.... =)

Hmmm.... Chua further extended his mc to 6May..... =|

The Art of Listening

In a TV talk show, the host is interviewing a little boy, the host asked him, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Answered the naive boy, "Yes! I want to fly a plane, I want to be a pilot!"

The host continue with his question, "If one day, while flying across Pacific Ocean, suddenly all the engines of your plane cease to work. What would you do?" The boy pause for a while, and said "I will tell everyone on board to fasten their safety belts and I will jump out of the plane with my parachute..." Suddenly, The host and audiences in the talk show laugh hysterically when they heard what the boy has said.

The boy is numbed and hot tears rushing out of his eyes, he cry and weep in hurt, in pain. After seeing this, the host felt sorry for what he and the audiences did to him - laughing at him - to make him feel better, he asked the little boy, "why would you do that?"

The little boy then wear a big grin on his charming face and responded, "I am going to get help for them while they remain safe in the plane with their safety belts on. I will be back!"

Everyone caught in silence.

Ahh, damn it. I have left my handphone charger in camp and now my handphone is super low batt. So i off it to conserve batt.... haha. Only can charge it when i go back cmpb tonight.....

And that great Chua extended his mc to 2 May. That is a total of 3 weeks mc already. But we dun mind it also. Peace prevails!! Mwahahaha

Watched Kill Bill Vol.2 on 25Apr. Well, i din watch Kill Bill Vol.1 though. So was listening to GY about it before we watch vol.2. Quite draggy. A bit boring and not much action. And i cant understand why it is M18 when i dun think it is very violent or gross...

Ahhh, yesterday (Labour Day!) was a tiring day. Was out the whole day after i booked out from camp at 9.15am. Reached VJC at around 11.30am. Met the rest to go for Viesta Soleil – Fun Fair. We had 8 people! Was very hot and crowded. Lingered around. Played some games. Ate a burger. Waited for the grand lucky draw at 3pm with Mitsubushi Colt as the grand prize!! Oh, met Lih, Kangrui, Yiwei, Alex there too.... Also met Terence, Jason, Kok Wai there too... Took some pics also.. =)

Then went to Parkway parade to eat lunch cum dinner at Swenson. Met Carrey there. Ha.. Then we were deciding to go ktv. Kbox was ex though they tried to give us the best offer. But no. Discussion dun have room after we decided to go there. So in the end, went Party World. Sang from 7 to 11pm. Well, actually the package only til 10pm but they gave us 1 extra hr... haha. Elvin joined us later... Turned out each of us paid $13.80 each. Cheaper compared to Kbox's $19.20 and offered only 3hrs..... yah, had 9 pple in the ktv room in the end!! =p

So everyone went back home after grabbing some burgers at Mac before leaving.... Ah, reached home around 12.15am.... so tiring... Yeah, but i think the most tiring was organising this gathering and get things going..... ah.

Anyway, at least it turned out well i hope. At any time, we had at least 6 pple, with simon, jx & elvin joining us back at swenson & ktv later.... Ha, din go clubbing as planned.... but nvm, will try to go next sat for the law bash at Zouk..... Heh heh... =)

Ah... damn it! Chua extended his mc for one more week til 26 apr.... that's a total of 2 weeks mc already. But anyway, hope he gets well soon and come back for duty!! Haha....

And juz on monday, 8 new RPs, fresh from bmt and 2-week rp course were posted to us. They are to replace those who are going to ord in the next 2 months... our section got 2 new rps while section 2 & 3 got 3 each..... they are mostly from jc batch bmt one.....

And also, those attached segeants are coming back again this month and next month. Yah, they are regulars who are still studying in polys/ite and come here for attachment during their school holidays. So they will be with us til end of june.... Sigh....

Well, Chua got injured while riding his bike i think, so got 1 week mc til 19apr. This mean we only left 6 people for our section now. Sigh... no nite rest for the time being....

Anyway, quite lucky to saw Mayday when i was at the tower B lobby yesterday afternoon. They juz finished their interview at 88.3 and were walking out. Yup, they came at 12pm so it was like quite a lot of people would have seen them. Then at nite, Ren Xian Qi also came. But i only saw him at a distance when he was in his mini bus leaving and eugene was the one opening gate for them... ha. There are few more artistes coming, think 5566 again, zhang yu, and Shin...

Watched Hellboy yesterday nite at Junction 8 with jx, jl & peter. Not that bad. And it is 2hrs movie. Quite reasonable.....

Sian, going back camp again tonite.

My last post was probably a bit misleading, such that the above comment was posted... so let me clarify a bit about my so called short story i had written....

Well, yes, i said i dunno how to continue ever since but not because i have nothing to write or was lost. On the contrary, i have all the plots/points/information in my mind. Probably all have made up 95% of my story. The story can continue where i left but I din continue cuz i have so much to write such that i dunno how to continue. There is a time sequence to my story..

It has no ending not because i havent thought of one yet, but.......................

The truth is left for the thinker...............

Hmmm..... sometimes i am made confused by what is happening around me.. I'm puzzled..

I remembered i tried writing this short story.. It was only 20% done. It has been very long since i last wrote it. And I dunno how to continue ever since and it has no ending yet. But hopefully, i will have a nice ending for it......

Ahh... it's been long since i last updated.... so now, here i am again...

Went to Johore yesterday with david, slim, chua & alex. Took a bus there and within johor, taxi was our main transport. Only went to City Square, Holiday Plaza and Taman Garden. They bought a lot of pirated ps2 games, vcds & dvds. Haha... i juz bought a Elva Hsiao lastest album, though it is pirated and only cost RM7.... haha... We had dinner at Taman garden. Cost RM106 total but split among 5 of us, so it is just not even 10 sing dollars each. Back in singapore at around 8.30pm.... heh =)

Ah, just on wednesday, 24th mar, something interesting happened in cmpb. There was this malay guy, when he was about to left through the gate, he was quite arrogant to alex & eugene who were doing duty at gate b. He also challenged alex like asking him does alex know who is he or not... blah blah blah. Also when he was outside the gate, he told a civilian coming in not to go in cuz he planted a bomb inside. And he went away. Then this civilian informed us. Straightaway after our duty at 2pm, 6 of us went out of camp to look for this malay guy. 3 went to HDB area while other 3 went up Telok Blangah hill to look for him. Police were called in. Security were tightened and on high alert. But we couldnt find the guy and so we search everywhere for suspected bomb parcel. Couldnt find anything somehow... And so at around 4pm, this stupid malay guy came back on his bicycle. Stupid cuz all of us and police were looking for him and he came back again!! He got detained and questioned. Yeah, we know he joked about it but too bad, this aint no joke. He got handcuffed and brought away. Heard he will be charged in court and alex & eugene & that witness civilian will also appear in court to testify against him. Ahh... stupid guy! But then this whole thing, alex was also in fault..... as for the details of this entire thing, i shall not put it all here..... heh =)

Oh, i've added a list on the left side of my blog. It is a list of artistes i've seen personally at cmpb. There are a few more that ive seen but i forgot liao... haha. Yah, all those are artistes going to the safra radio and i only list those that i've seen them myself. There are lots more that went to safra radio but i dun have the chance to see them so din put down. Yah, the latest was this Mini and gu-er. Not so popular though. Before them was 5566. Only 4 came and im the one who opened the gate for their mini-bus to enter the camp. Haha... yah, i was in such close distance to see them... haha

iPOD! Yes, I juz bought it from the IT Show 2004 at suntec. Bought the 15GB one. Yah, that's the cheapest one though. Haha... Now I only have 221 songs in it and it is still growing...... =)

Ahh, din manage to see S.H.E cuz i was off that day and din particularly go back cmpb to watch them. Heard from the others that they took one group photo with them and probably shook hands and exchanged smiles... haha

Took leave on saturday, 13th mar cuz i wanna go to the NUS Open house and i did. Went with lawrence first to listen to the engineering talk. Later he left to go back camp and i went to meet gy and alan. Walked around and left at 5pm.

And so i went back camp for the bbq which was supposed to start at 6pm but no! It started to rain at 7pm and people were not here yet. Cuz of the rain, we were bbqing at the 5th level of the multi-storey carpark which is indoor. And why 5th storey? Cuz it is the last storey and has a high ceiling and so the fire sensor wont go off. So the setting up of the makeshift pit using aluminium tray took about 1hr plus and the fire juz wont get big. We were basically using heat to cook and not fire. I ate my food of the nite, which was a crabmeat only at 9pm. I din ate much cuz i gotta left at 10pm. I only drank 2 cans of drinks, ate 3 slices of bread, 2 crab stick and 1 sausage. That's all! Stingray, chicken wings, satays were not done yet til 10pm. Then i just left cuz im supposed to go Embassy....

Yah, so i went there. Ha, i actually met Nikki right at the dance floor and she was juz like 2 people away from me, dancing with her boyfren. Ha, we left the place at 2am cuz the crowd had started to go away... well, it was fun though. Nice music. =)

It is such a nice feeling cuz the rain just keeps going on and on since last nite... I was doing duty when it started to rain at about 11pm.....

Flash floods were seen in same parts of singapore...

Anyway, went KTV with lih, kar & may on friday at Cuppage plaza... it's been quite a long time since we get together... Ha. Took some photos and this card photo. Quite cool.

And went to Parkway on saturday to meet may cuz she's working there. So we had our lunch and this Lindt chocolate with cognac filling. Nice and special. Probably will try the other 2 types when i see it in cold storage... heh heh.

Hmmm.... have been converting songs in my CDs to mp3 files. Why? Cuz im planning to put all of them into iPOD should i buy it. But the process is slow. Im done with all Jay Chou's songs. Now im with Stef Sun. Ha, i think all the songs from both of them will probably add up to 120 songs. But the 15gb iPOD can hold up to 3000songs........ wah =p

Fish Leong came to Safra radio, 88.3 on thursday nite and we went wait for her outside tower B lobby. Ha, when she came she was quite friendly and said hello and waved to us. So we greeted her back. She had thick make-up though but still looks pretty... =)

Went to the Adidas end of season sale on saturday with Alan. Met elvin there. Nothing much left at the sale but the things are real cheap. Din buy anything cuz i couldnt find the shoes i want.

Met Simon and his 2 frens at suntec while we were deciding where to have our dinner. So we had dinner together at this french restaurant, Maison Basque. Cost $23 for a 4 course set meal... ahh

Went KTV at Loyang point on sunday. It was another branch of the Party world at Crown prince hotel. Jx got this free 3hr card so we went all the way to Pasir Ris... haha.

Anyway, we have moved our bunk in cmpb from the 2nd storey to the 1st. Moved quite some distance. We actually have to walk thru the area where those enlistees have their check-up stations before reaching our new bunk. Quite small as compared to the old. But has a chalet/resort kinda feeling there. Haha, maybe cuz it is new.... But our lockers still at the old bunk. Gonna move all 21 lockers down... So tmr our section probably gonna move them down..... sianz.

Oh, heard from the DJ from 88.3 that S.H.E is gonna be coming to their radio again probably in 2 weeks time. Ah, so hope we are able to see them again. Last time Ella was absent. Hope to see her this time.... heh =p

The McCafe at Lido there is great. Nice ambience with great snack.... Went there on saturdat nite with gy and alan...

Sigh... gy is still forcing me to attend this seminar/talk. Yes, it is about his network marketing again or some motivational talk by the CEO of that company. Met Lih at PS starhub shop on sat and he also said how the thing is a scam. I agree. Never mind, i juz dun wanna bother about wat he is doing already... it is juz pointless..

Anyway, something interesting is going on within our section in camp.. I dunno how it turns out this way, but i hope it will not degrade to a 'war'...

Sigh... was so depressed on monday nite and tuesday when in camp... but im quite ok now.

I dun wanna delve into it too much since if it gonna happens, it will happen. So no point making myself miserable..

Anyway, Zhou Chuan Xiong is coming to safra radio saturday and that day im on duty. So i might have to chance to see him.... haha

I have enough!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Nah, this is not the day for me though...

Felt so pissed & depressed today when doing duty. I dunno wat they are thinking, but i dun wanna care anymore....

Hmmm..... when i was thinking of wat exactly is haunting me that i want to keep myself out of it, i realised i couldnt really specifically say wat it is.. Perhaps there are several factors causing it but they are so clouded..

But one thing for sure it is about happiness. I told myself to be happy for this year but it seems there isnt much things that can make me feel good...

Perhaps when in dreamland, I dun have to think so much about trying to make myself happy or other stuffs.. and sleeping is also another way of isolating oneself from this world, though temporary only.

Maybe after a sleep, one will feel better, just like a refresh mind with a new start..

Went to Elvin's house last nite. Only reached there at 2340hrs cuz i was a bit lost getting there. Ha. So peter, jx, yh, alvin and me, together with elvin were there. Played a bit of majong thruout the nite til abt 4am+ but we din play money. We used push ups as the bet... ha.

Then slept a bit and we continued with majong again at ard 8.30am. Left jx, alvin, elvin and me then. This time, we used Jalan Kayu's roti prata as the bet. Haha.... played 1 round plus 1 more wind. In the end, alvin lost the most to all. And i lost 3 prata to jx and 5 prata to elvin. Think alvin lost abt 40+ prata to all three of us... haha.

So had our lunch at Jalan Kayu after that. YH joined us also. Ate roti pratas of cuz. And we played this zhong ji mi ma game there cuz we couldnt finish the indian rojak. So the loser who got the number got to eat a piece of the rojak. Quite fun.... haha.

So went home after that. Was so tired man... and i got to book in tonight again for duty tmr. Went for range on thurs but din shoot cuz it was Cat 1 after we got there. So going back tmr again... sianz...

Ahhh, eating is so difficult when the gum near the wisdom tooth area at my left side of mouth is sore. The gum seems like rotting away....

Will be going to range tmr for the zeroing of our new SAR21.... sigh :|

I really feel like vomiting blood the more i talked to him. He just cant get the point I'm trying to make. If that's the case, it is really pointless to say any more.

It's a new year. And it is february already. It isnt easy to be and stay happy. . .

I feel like im evolving into a sleeping god. Just slept from 1.30pm to 7pm... Ahh...


Perhaps one subconscious reason why one sleeps is just like why one gets drunk....

Ahh... Im so tired that i slept from 4.30pm to 9.30pm today... and i'm still feeling lethargic...

The smoke from all those burning are making my eyes dry and tired and my breathing unbearable...

The sun is still hiding behind those thick misty clouds.. And it is still weeping....

Things have just emerged from the shadow and are clearly comprehended. It's time to dispel the delusion and return to the apathetic world..

Ahh, my face hurts and is feeling sore..

The rain is just so beautiful........

Or maybe it was just a mistake afterall.

Wow... din noe MSN Radio can be so good.

Yeah, a big recommendation to all who listen to all sorts of english songs.

But, only a few stations for each catergory are free for listening... at least we still have free, isnt it.. haha =)

I will be moving house tmr morning... And i've asked for a off so i can move house. But still, gotta book in tmr nite by 2359 hrs...

TMr will be a tiring and busy day........

But, dun worry. After settling down, probably after the Chinese New year, I will touch up this blog....
