Vampire of the Week

Vampire of the Week is a semi-weekly feature on my blog. For more information, go here. To see previous VoW's click here.

And today's Vampire of the Week is. . .

Pam!

Pam is a character in the Southern Vampire Mysteries/Sookie Stackhouse series written by Charlaine Harris. She is also a character in the television show based on the books, True Blood.

Pam was made into a vampire by Eric Northman, probably a few hundred years ago. She is now Eric's second-in-command and co-owner of Fangtasia (Eric's vampire bar).

Pam is, according to Sookie, one of very few vampires that actually has a sense of humour. She takes joy in teasing and provoking others, and she is always looking for material to tease Eric with.

Pam is played by Kristin Bauer.

Vampire of the Week

I know, I know, I haven't done a Vampire of the Week post in ages! But, after weeks of waiting it's finally time again. And which vampire is better to kick off the re-launch of VoW than:

Drusilla!

Drusilla is known from both Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Angel. "Dru" grew up in London, England with her parents and two sisters. For her whole life, Dru had been able to foretelling the future, along with other physic abilities. She didn't see her talents as a gift though, no she believed it to be an evil affliction, and therefor entered a nunnery to cleanse herself.
In 1860, Angel, who by the time still was Angelus, met Drusilla. He sensed her purity and her potential for sainthood, and became obsessed with destroying her. He tortured and killed Drusilla's entire family, along with everyone else she was close to. And he made Drusilla watch him do it, then he turned her. No wonder she turned insane. . .

As a vampire Drusilla still has her foretelling abilities, along with the ability of being able to hypnotize people. Her temper changes from one minute to the next. When she's happy she is laughing and dancing, and singing to herself. She loves to torture and kill humans, and to watch other people do it.

Why does Drusilla deserve to be the Vampire of the Week?
Well, she is such a great character! She's mad, funny and talks the funniest way. She is also an incredible quote machine! Take a look at some of her best sayings:

To her doll: "Miss Edith speaks out of turn. She's a bad example and will have no cakes today."

"The King of Cups expects a picnic. But it's not his birthday."

"It's not nice to change a game mid-play, Spike. You've taken my chair and the music hasn't stopped."

"Didn't like the barkeeper. Mm...can't get his eyes off my fingers."

"Run and Catch. Run and catch. The lamb is caught in the blackberry patch.

Drusilla is played by Juliet Landau.

Vampire of the Week

Vampire of the Week is a semi-weekly feature on my blog. For more information, go here. To see previous VoW's click here.

And today's Vampire of the Week is. . .

Bill Compton
Even if Bill is a vampire, he's still the gentleman he was raised to be. He's polite, charming and considerate, and he enjoys living in the dark.

Bill Compton was born in 1840. He lived on a farm in Bon Temps, Louisiana with his wife and children. He fought for the South during the Civil War, and shortly after the war he was made a vampire by Lorena, with whom he later had a long and stormy relationship.

When Bill moves back to his ancestral home in Bon Temps, he meets waitress Sookie Stackhouse. Sookie is immediately drawn to Bill, she's never met a vampire before, and she can't read his thoughts. She enjoys the silence. Later that night she saves Bill from being drained by the Rattrays, and a day later Bill returns the favor. Thus, their relationship is born.

Bill is played by Stephen Moyer. Stephen was born in England in 1969.

Vampire of the Week

Vampire of the Week is a semi-weekly feature on my blog. For more information, go here. To see previous VoW's click here.

And today's Vampire of the Week is. . .

Carlisle Cullen!

Why does Carlisle deserve to be Vampire of the Week?

Well, Carlisle Cullen is probably the kindest, most human-friendly vampire ever. When he first turned into a vampire he refused to drink blood, and tried to kill himself in every possible way. Carlisle didn't succeed though, and finally his blood lust became to strong and he fed from a deer. Since then animal blood is all Carlisle has been drinking, and he has passed on his philosophy to his family. Carlisle has also devoted his life to helping humans, and is a skillful doctor.

Stregone Carlisle Benefice Cullen was born in 1640 as a son to an Anglican pastor. When he was 23 he was attacked by a vampire and left to die on the streets, but Carlisle survived and the rest is, as they say, history.

Carlisle Cullen is played by Peter Facinelli. Peter was born in New York in 1973, and has many roles in movies and TV series on his résumé. Peter is married to Beverly Hills actress Jennie Garth, and they have three daughters together.

Vampire of the Week

Vampire of the Week is a semi-weekly feature on my blog. For more information, go here. To see previous VoW's click here.

And this week's Vampire of the Week is. . .

Adrian Ivashkov!

Adrian is a royal Moroi, specialized in spirit. He first turned up in Frostbite, the second Vampire Academy book, and has been a regular character since then.

Why does Adrian deserve to be Vampire of the Week?

When we first got to know Adrian, he was the ultimate badboy. He was sarcastic, flirtatious, and numbed the effects of spirit use with drinking and chain smoking.

During the latest VA book however (Blood Promise) we got to see a whole different side of Adrian. He was kind, caring, generous and acting more responsible and matured. But he still had the personality traits we love so much - he's irony and sarcasm.

If Vampire Academy were made into a movie, who would you like to see playing Adrian?

Ed Westwick? (Photo Above)

Ian Somerhalder?

Matt Lanter?Bradley James?
or someone else?

Vampire of the Week

Vampire of the Week is a semi-weekly feature on my blog. For more information, go here.

And this week's Vampire of the Week is. . .

. . . Josef Kostan from Moonlight!

Josef Kostan (a.k.a. Charles Fitzgerald) is a 400 year-old vampire living in Los Angeles, and he is Mick's mentor and friend. Little is known about Josef's background. He stated that he was 4 in 1603 which means he was born in 1599 and is currently 409 years old. He has stated that he was once chased by an 'angry torch-bearing mob' in his past and has also stated that he did very unforgivable things when he was first turned, which he described as "going completely insane." Nowadays Josef is a businessman who does not stint himself in luxuries, from an expensive house to the company of numerous beautiful women who are more than happy to sate his desire for blood.

Josef's personality is laid back and easy going. He's sarcastic and witty, a play boy and Mick St. John's best friend. He's a hedge funder and CEO of Kostan Industries. He, unlike Mick, doesn't get his blood from the morgue but fresh from the vein. He's not ashamed of what he is and doesn't see the need to hide the fact that he kills people. Although he comes off as an uncaring, sarcastic play boy, it's all just for show. Josef is actually very caring underneath the mask he wears.

Josef: "Hey, you have a soft spot for the mortal ones. A fascination with all the charming things they do while listening to the tick tick tick of their own looming demise, that's fine, that's good. Everyone needs a hobby."

Josef Kostan is played by Jason Dohring. Jason was born in Ohio, USA in 1982, and is mostly known for playing the part of Logan Echolls in the TV-show Veronica Mars.

And this week's Vampire of the Week is. . .

HENRY FITZROY

Henry Fitzroy is one of the main characters in the Canadian television series Blood Ties, based on the "Blood Books" by Tanya Huff.

Based on the historical character Henry Fitzroy, 1st Duke of Richmond ans Somerset - the bastard son of Henry VIII of England, Henry Fitzroy chose love over familial duty and sacrificed his mortal life to remain forever with the woman he loved; Christina. Vampiric circumstances, however, prevented him from remaining with her and now, after 450 years of existence, he is living in Toronto as a graphic novelist.

His quiet, hidden life takes on a new twist when he collides with Vicki Nelson in an attempt to stop a man from bringing a demon into the mortal world. As they work to solve this case, and subsequently other supernatural problems, Henry grows deeply attracted to Vicki's willful nature and exuberance for life, eventually falling for her. Though she seems to resist his advances, he continues to pursue her and, mostly due to his centuries of experience and knowledge of both sides of the supernatural, he becomes Vicki's partner and bodyguard.

Henry is played by the Canadian actor Kyle Schmid. Kyle was borned in 1984 in Mississauga, Ontario.

Vampire of the Week

Well, well it's time for 2010's first Vampire of the Week! (Aren't you excited? I'm excited!)

And the Vampire who receives the honor of being the first VoW of 2010 is . . .

GODRIC from True Blood/Southern Vampire Mysteries!

I finished watching season 2 of True Blood recently, and my favorite character of the season (after Eric, of course) was Godric! So of course he had to be the Vampire of the Week :)

In human years, Godric would've been about sixteen when he'd been made vampire. There is no telling how many years ago that had been, but surely over two thousand years. Godric may be small in stature and youthful appearing, but he is extremely powerful and wise. Godric is the vampire sheriff of Area 9, a designation for an area including Dallas, Texas. Eric Northman claims "there are none above him in the New World," referring to the physical power he has accumulated as the oldest vampire in North America. Godric is depicted as being friendly toward humans, interested in their well-being, and supportive of a peaceful co-existence between vampires and human beings.

Godric is played by Allan Hyde . Allan was born in Denmark in 1989.

Vampire of the Week

Week 48's Vampire of the Week is. . .

. . . Damon Salvatore from the Vampire Diaries!

Damon is mean, nasty and dangerous - and yet incredibly sexy! He is a vampire who feeds from, and kills humans, without hesitation, and he is always trying to get his brother, Stefan, to do the same. Damon is very unreliable, he goes from fun and charming to a dangerous cool-headed murderer in less than two seconds.

So why do we like him? Let's face it - Damon is HOT and sexy, he is the ultimate bad-boy. We know that he is dangerous, but that just makes him even more attractive. And just like Stefan, we're hoping that there is a trace of humanity left in Damon, and that we can change him into a "good" vampire.

Do you wanna know more about Damon? Of course you do! Make sure you watch the Vampire Diaries, Thursdays at the CW. You can also read the Vampire Diaries books, written by L. J. Smith.

Damon is played by Ian Somerhalder. Ian was born in Louisiana, USA, in 1978. Before the Vampire Diaries, Ian was mostly known for playing Boone in Lost (a favorite of mine already back then!).

Who's your favorite Vampire? And what do you think about Damon? Leave your thoughts in the comments!

Vampire of the Week

In honor of this week's premiere of New Moon: the Movie, here's this week's VoW:

Emmett Cullen!

Emmett Cullen (born Emmett McCarty) is Rosalie's husband, Carlisle and Esme's adopted son, and Edward, Alice, and Jasper's adoptive brother. Emmett is described as being tall, burly, extremely muscular, and, to most humans, the most intimidating of his adoptive siblings. He has slightly curly dark hair and dimpled cheeks, and is incredibly strong. You will never see Emmett saying no to a fight or challenge.

Emmett is played by Kellan Lutz. Kellan was born 1985 in North Dakota. He has starred in several TV series, including 90210, The Comeback and Generation Kill.

Vampire of the Week!

. . . it's James from Twilight!

Okay, I know, I know maybe James isn't the nicest vampire out there. . . But who said that a vampire has to be nice? I'm pretty sure I didn't! Let's repeat: Conditions for being elected Vampire of the Week 1) The person needs to be a vampire 2) The person needs to be hot.
Told ya - nothing said about niceness! ;)

James was a nomadic vampire who fed from (and killed) humans. He was part of a vampire coven that consisted of himself, his mate Victoria and Laurent.
James was a very talented tracker, and he saw the hunting as a game and a challenge.
When James met Bella he became obsessed of hunting her down and kill her, and he almost succeeded . . .

Hmm. . .what are you doing? Oh, you're killing Bella! Okay, don't mind me, carry on.

James was killed by the Cullens. (See, they weren't that nice either!)

Cam Gigandet played James in the Twilight movie. Cam is the ultimate bad-boy actor and has portrayed the villain several times, for example Kevin Volchok in the OC and Ryan in Never Back Down.
Cam Gigandet was born 1982 in Washington, USA.

And that's way Cam Gigandet's James is our Vampire of the Week!

Vampire of the Week

. . . it's Eric Northman!!

Eric Northman is the Sheriff of Area 5, a vampire district in Louisiana. A Viking warrior in life, he is over 1,000 years old, the oldest vampire in Louisiana, and a powerful member of the vampire community. Eric is manipulative, tricky and confident, and has little respect for human life. This does not make him particularly popular, but despite this, few can resist his bad-boy charm!

Do you want to know more about Eric? Read the Southern Vampire Mysteries written by Charlaine Harris or watch the HBO show True Blood, based on Harris' books.

.

Eric Northman is played by the Swedish hunk Alexander Skarsgård. Alexander was born in Stockholm, Sweden, 33 years ago. He has starred in several movies and TV series, both American and Swedish, but is most known for his roles in True Blood and Generation Kill. Alexander's father, Stellan Skarsgård, is also a well-known actor with several hit movies, including Angels & Demons, Mamma Mia! and Pirates of the Carribean, on his resumé.

Vampire of the Week

It's time to announce this week's VoW, and the winning Vampire is:

. . . Stefan Salvatore from the Vampire Diaries!

Stefan is portrayed to be very handsome, and he will do anything for the person he loves. Stefan is hunted by his past though, and he's suffering from things he did hundreds of years ago.
Stefan hates being a vampire, and does his best to be as normal as possible; he avoids killing and drinking from humans, and he's also going to school, like any normal kid.
Because of things that happened in the past, and the fact that he is a vampire, Stefan has a hard time letting people close. He is hugely attracted by Elena, but he's fighting his feelings and doesn't want to admit it.

To learn more about Stefan; read The Vampire Diaries written by L. J. Smith or watch the TV-show The Vampire Diaries on the CW.

Stefan is played by Paul Wesley. Paul was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey in 1982. He has made several movies including Elsewhere and Killer Movie, and has starred in a bunch of TV series; 24, Army Wives, CSI and Fallen to name a few.
