NOTD: Peaches and Cream...and Glitter!

Greetings from the Dark Side!

Here is my current manicure~ I have Sinful Colors 'Orange Cream' and Essie's 'A Cut Above' glitter polish. 'Orange Cream' looks more to me like a peachy color and it reminds me of peaches and cream. The color is so gorgeous for spring, which is just around the corner. And the pink glitter is so glamorous! It is a really pretty combo!

NOTD: Pink Glitters

Greetings from the Dark Side~

I've neglected from doing any nail posts because my nails have been really crazy as of late. They grow long, then they break or they are all uneven >_<"
But, either ways, I'll show you the mani I'm sporting at the moment.
I have on Cult Nails 'Princess' as a base with OPI's 'Teenage Dream' glitter on top of all my nails except the ring finger which has Essie's 'A Cut Above'.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Essie's 'A Cut Above'. It has to be one of my favorite glitters ever!! It looks so gorgeous~! If you have not tried it, I recommend you do!

NOTD: Green and Yellow Polkadots

Hi :) A big thanks to those who commented on my 1000 follower post! Your good wishes warm my heart! ♥

I have not done a nail post in a while so I thought I would quickly share my nails at the moment. I have them pretty short right now. I had them really long and then two of my nails broke so I had to cut them all :/

Nail art is not my forte. But I do what I can. I tried doing an alternating polkadot pattern with green and yellow. It was difficult since I don't have a dotting tool! I used the Wet n Wild Spoiled varnish in 'Designated Driver' and Essie 'Pretty Edgy'.

This looks like a green and yellow strawberry-like mani! The "dots" look more like a seed shape xD It came out terribly! I seriously have to get better at doing my nails >_<" And for some reason my top coat bubbled! Arrrrg! Nothing turned out right!

NOTD: A Cut On Those Bright Tights!

Greetings from the Dark Side!
Happy Friday! Please enjoy your weekend :)

Here is my NOTD. I used two of my Essie polishes: Bright Tights and A Cut Above.
Bright Tights is a super bright matte neon orange.
A Cut Above is a chunky, shiny, pink glitter.

A Cut Above is amazing! I used one thick coat!
Bright Tights is an awesome neon orange, but the formula sucks. I had to use 3 coats and it wasn't even fully opaque! D:<

Just wanted to share that quickly :D

Top 5: Most Worn Nail Polishes

For all you who love to buy, collect, and use nail polishes, you know that it can be difficult to get a lot of use of ALL your nail polishes. I have quite a collection, although definitely not as many as most people. And although I love varying which nail polishes I use, I have a few that I always go back to. This isn't to say that these five are my FAVORITE nail polishes, not at all. These are simply colors that are easy to wear, no-fuss, and I know they will always look good on my nails. Here is my top 5 more worn nail polishes.

1. OPI Done Out in Deco
This was my first OPI nail polish and the beginning of my obsession with nail polishes. This is my third bottle.

Holiday Haul

As you may know, I am currently on a makeup ban. But, I gave myself a chance to buy myself something for Christmas. What did I decide to get? Fyrinnae! Lots of Fyrinnae eyeshadows. I also went to Walgreens and saw two things that I wanted and so I also purchased them.

1.Fyrinnae
I went a little crazy and purchased 13 sample sized eyeshadows from Fyrinnae. The total, including shipping, was about $28. I LOVE all the colors that I purchased! I won't do swatches right now, but I will do a seprate post for swatches and review of these colors. I can tell you right now that my favorite colors are: Mephisto, Gilded Wings, Dragon's Wing, and Monarch Butterfly. But ALL the colors are stunning, and they look 100 times better in person than in swatches and 1000 times better than the Fyrinnae's online swatches.

2. Revlon ColorBurst Lipgloss in 'Decadent'
This is a limited edition lipgloss that is a part of the Revlon holiday collection. You should know by now that I would never pass up on a purple lipstick or lipgloss so I HAD to get this. Not only is the color gorgeous, but the ColorBurst lipglosses are my favorite lipglosses ever!

3. Essie 'Shine of the Times' Nail Polish
This is another thing I could not pass: a flakie polish! It caught my eye at Walgreens and I could not pass the temptation. It is similar to Sally Hansen's 'Hidden Treasure' but the formula is a little thicker.

I am very content with this purchase. Makeup hauls will be rare, and this one will be good enough for a while. I am very happy with the Fyrinnae shadows, extremely happy with my new lipgloss, and excited to experiment with this new flakie polish!

Do you have any of these products? Or are you interested in getting any one of these?

Essie 'Smooth Sailing'Braziliant Collection

Hiiiii <3
Thank you all for coming to my blog! I have been lacking in my nail polish posts, mostly because my nails are still very uneven. I'm still working on that, so for the mean time please endure my ugly nails :D

Price and Availability
$7-$8. I bought this at Rite Aid, but you might it at CVS, Walgreens, or anywhere else that Essie is sold.

Smooth Sailing
A periwinkle blue full of silver shimmer. This color is very unique to me, as I have nothing that is close to it. The base color, the periwinkle blue, is dupable, but the shimmer in this would be hard to duplicate.

Formula
In the swatches I have 2 coats on, but I think 3 would be best. It is not a sheer polish, in fact I though it was very pigmented. The problem with wearing 1 or 2 coats is that the shimmer will not be as noticeable. Also, if you want the shimmer to be noticeable, you need to use a really good top coat. So although I like the overall formula of this polish, it is not perfect. If you don't use a good top coat, it will look kind of dull.

Essie 'Cute As a Button'

I don't own many coral colors, and I haven't owned this Essie polish for that long. But this color really won me over quickly, and like a parasite it wiggled its way into my favorites list. It is a perfect coral for me, and I ♥ it!

Price and Availability
About $8. This color is part of Essie's permanent line so you can find it in Rite Aids, Walgreens, CVS, and many placed online.

Formula and Application
This is sheer and a little streaky, and you need at 3 coats to make it completely opaque. But it dries fast, so the number of coats needed does not matter to me. After the application, it is a smooth, creamy coral. To me, it leans on the pinkish/reddish side, but it is still a gorgeous coral color. It wears really nicely too, I wore this for a whole week with no chipping. As you will be able to see from the pictures, I get really bad tip wear, and I guess I don't bother to clean up the polish around my cuticles either...LOL. I usually take a shower after I do my nails, and that extra polish comes off after I shower, so I don't bother to properly clean it up with acetone.

Swatches
I have on 3 coats of 'Cute As a Button' and one coat of Seche Vite.
Thanks for reading :)

Haul: CVS Essie Nail Polishes

Hello fellow makeup Addicts~

I went to CVS the other day because I have been on a non-stop search for Essie's 'Smooth Sailing' nail polish from the Braziliant collection. And after visiting about 5 different drugstores, I finally found it at my local CVS. And I also picked some other Essie polishes...hehehe. I have been really loving Essie lately! I only used to own one Essie polish and that was 'Demure Vixen'. But I really got into the other Essie colors.

These are the polishes I bought. As you can see 3 of them were 50% off. Those three are from the French Affair collection and I guess they wanted to sell them quickly.
Sand Tropez/ Coat Azure/ Nice is Nice/ Smooth Sailing

Lapis of Luxery/ Cute As A Button/ Lilacism

Look at the beautiful-ness that is Smooth Sailing!
Out of all of these, I think Smooth Sailing is my favorite, followed by Cute As A Button. If you see Smooth Sailing definitely pick it up! Cute As A Button is a permanent color, so no need to rush for that one.

If you guys want me to swatch any of these, please indicate so in a comment below. My nails are gross right now but I would still swatch these for you guys :)

NOTD: Essie 'Absolutely Shore' Braziliant Collection

Hi dollies ♥

Yesterday, I found this little baby at Rite Aid, and I couldn't help but buy it D:
I have been looking at several different Rite Aid for the blue polish from this collection called 'Smooth Sailing' but I cannot find it. In every display I see, it is already gone T_T But I am happy I was able to find this one!

'Absolutely Shore' is a white mint green, with a slight blue undertone. It is so light, it sometimes looks white. I have nothing like this is my nail polish collection, an I have a good amount of light minty greens. The formula is okay, if you are not careful it might look streaky. I used 2 coats, but three coats might be better.

I ♥ this color. I wish the formula was a little better though. This collection is very nice, although the other colors don't really call out to me [except for Smooth Sailing of course].
What do you think of this collection?

Essie 'Neo Whimsical'

Heeelloo~

I don't own many light pinks, but Essie's 'Neo Whimsical' has become my favorite light pink. One of my other favorites in Essie's 'Demure Vixen' but that one is much more of a pink/mauve/taupe color. And although I like dark and bright colors better than light pinks, I have to sadly admit that light pink look very good on my nails.

Price and Availability:
$8. I bought this at the Beauty Clutch website. I have seen this at Target before so you might be able to find it at beauty supply stores or your local Target.

Product Review:
This is a light dusty pink with some lavender undertones. It is a creme finish, and somewhat sheer. To get full opacity you need three coats. One coat will be streaky. Two coats will look almost opaque if you apply it extremely well, but sometimes it will still be streaky. I find that this polish dries fairly quickly. I love this polish because it is a light pink, but it still has that purple undertone. My favorite color is purple, so that is why I prefer this polish more than my other light pink polishes.

Swatches
*Please excuse my nails. Some of my nails broke, so I am still trying to grow and even out my nails.

Essie 'Demure Vixen'

Hi lovelies!
If you are a huge nail polish junkie like me, then you know how hard it is to only have a few nail polishes. I always say to myself "Okay, no more nail polishes!', and then like 50 seconds later, I am buying a new polish >_<
I have an uncontrollable monster that desires vasts amounts of nail polish!
Anyways, although I own a pretty good amount of nail polishes, I do have a select few that are my absolute favorites and that I would definitely purchase again [some I can't, since they discontinued].

Essie's 'Demure Vixen'! I started with this particular polish because its a very wearable color and its in a color range that most people could wear. It is a beautiful dusty mauve pink with a very subtle purple sheen. The base color is not the most unique color, but the purple sheen is what makes this polish stand out from the rest. Also, the formula is easy to work with. Although one coat is sheer, it is a nice kind of sheer; it gives the nails a nice flush of color. On me though, I don't like how one coat looks. My nails are a bit yellow, so one coat does not totally eliminate the yellowness. I prefer two coats on my nails, it gives the nail coverage but retains a bit of the sheerness. Three coats would be best if you want a really opaque finish.

Price and Availability
Essie polishes retail for $8, but you can find them in some online retailers for a fraction of the cost. I bought mine at the Beauty Clutch website.

Here are some pictures: Click on the Images to Enlarge them and to see the nail polish better!
[Oh and excuse the fact that I got some indentations on my nails. I was impatient and ruined the polish before it dried.] I am wearing two coats and not top coat.

Haul: CVS

Well hello people ^_^
Today I passed by CVS and Walgreens to pick up a couple of things that I have been meaning to get for a while now.

First, this is what I got from CVS:
First, this is one of the Sally Hansen HD nail colors in the color Laser. It is a sparkly blue with purple micro shimmer.
Can you see the really pretty purple shimmer?
The price on these are..I have no idea. It will vary from store to store, but I got lucky. The bottle didn't have a tag, and the cashier rung it up for $0.99! I believe it was around $5-$6. Yay for me!

Next up is Essie's Sexy Divide. This was from an old collection, but they had it at CVS. I have noticed that drugstores carry Essie now, it is a little odd. They even had OPI.  This was $8, as all Essie nail polishes are.
Sexy Divide is a dark purple with very subtle purple and blue shimmer. It was hard to capture the shimmer on my camera, but its there.
Then we have Rimmel's 60 Seconds polish. Not many strores carry this anymore, but this one looked so pretty. I could not resist myself. This in the color 615 "Night Before." It is a dark purple with a gold shimmery duochrome like appearance. I haven't tried these out, by the way. This was $2.99 I believe.
Can you see the gold undertone? It almost looks like the night sky~
The last polish I purchased is Sinful Color's Pearl Harbor. It was $1.99 and an amazing purchase, I think.
You will see why.
Look at the iridescent shimmer! It is gorgeous!
It has blue, turquoise, and opal pink shimmers. It will look different depending on what color you top it over. Lighter polishes will accentuate the opal glitters, while a darker polish will accentuate the blue glitters.
I swatched them on an index card, but its hard to see the colors.
Click on the pictures to view them larger.
These did not capture the pretty shimmers of the two purple polishes...

And lastly, I finally got my hands on the Milani HD concealer. This is supposed to be a dupe for the YSL touche eclat. I got mine in the shade 01. This was $4.99.
I will do a review on the concealer and on the nail polishes once I get to use them.
If you guys have been eyeing  anything from here, I hope this helped to give you an idea of what they look like.
Honestly, the thing I liked the most and surprised me the most was the Sinful Colors polish in Pearl Harbor. It was really cheap but it is really amazing. You guys should check it out. Most drugstores carry the Sinful Colors line. I've seen it at Walgreens, CVS, and Rite Aid.
I will do a separate post on what I got at Walgreens, because if I put them together, this post will be too picture heavy. Anyways, thanks for reading. :)
Happy hauling~
