China Glaze Loco-Motive

You may still be able to find this on clearance at Sally Beauty. Loco-Motive was launched not long ago during their fall collection. It's a a sheer base with dark grey glitters and warm red glitters. Formula is a little thin but easy to work with and picks up a good amount of glitters. I didn't have any issues distributing the glitters evenly. On the swatches below, I have Loco-Motive layered on top of L'Oreal Berry Nice, which is a jelly dark plum.

China Glaze Twinkle Collection - December to Remember, Dancing & Prancing, Chillin' With My Snow-Mies

Sally Beauty has the new China Glaze holiday collection in store now. I picked this up last week and it was by 2 get one free.

I'm actually underwhelmed with this year's collection.

December to Remember is a pearly dusty blue with pink shimmers. Formula was easy to work with, not too thick or thin and needs 3 coats for opacity.

Dancing & Prancing has a clear base with multi-colored glitters. There was a Finger Paint nail polish that looked exactly like it. I probably wouldn't have picked this one but since it was freebie and the rest of the collection didn't appeal to me, I had no other choice. The base wasn't too thick or thin and easy to work with. The brush picks up a fairly good amount of glitter as well. I did one coat on the swatches below.

Chillin With My Snow-mies has a clear base and a mix of small, medium, and large white glitters. The base is not too thick or thin but you really gotta fish for the glitters so application take some work and patience to get the glitters where you want them. Other than that, I love how it looks like snow.

China Glaze All Aboard Fall 2014 - Choo-Choo Choose You and Mind the Gap Swatches

Choo-Choo Choose You is quite stunning one of the most unique shade I have in my collection. I'd say if there is only one polish from the collection you should get it's this one. It's a greyish blurple with greenish gold shimmers. The polish is a little sheer but can be build up to full coverage in 3 coats. The formula was very easy to work with. I love the depth it has and the shimmers look so glowy against the dark base. It's definitely a lot prettier in person than in pictures.

Mind The Gap is a medium dirty olive with green and gold shimmers. This one is quite sheer and thin and will need 3 coats to be full coverage. However, the formula is very easy to work with as well. I like it but I wished it had more depth like Choo-Choo Choose you.

So that's it, these are the only two that I felt I had to get from this collection, even though I think all of them looked nice. I love how fall-ish they look and I think I favor the fall collections a little more since I like darker colors. I purchased mines from Sally Beauty Supply.

China Glaze Seahorsin Around

Another old swatch that was lingering in my drafts. You probably remember this. I swatched it on the nail wheel about a couple months ago because my nails were chipping and breaking. Well, here I am now with the swatches on my more decent nails.

Seahorsin' Around was part of the Sea Goddess Collection. It's a lovely turquoise textured polish with some beautiful gold and teal green shimmers in it. Warning, it does stain so you really need to use a base coat. Formula is a bit thick but didn't really have any issues with it and looks great in just two coats. Even though it is a textured polish, it feels rather smooth and not too scratchy.

Taking Advantage of That Finger Paints BOGO Sale...Again With Preview Swatches

Hi yall! It had been a long and dreadful Monday. First thing I did when I got home is pass out. I was tired and just not feeling well. My head hurts and now I'm starving cause I didn't eat anything yet. Sorry for the late post. Usually if you see them up this late is because I had to take an emergency nap.

Finger Paints sale, buy one get one free, is still available until the end of February at Sally Beauty Supply. They are $4.49 each with the Sally Beauty Card so with the sale it's like getting one for $2.25, which is a steal! I went back to see what else I should get. There were some colors that were sold out and the clerk told me that they will be restocking on Tuesday because that's when they get their shipment. So with that said, looks like I will need to go back there one more time when they restock.

I also spotted the Sea Goddess collection from China Glaze. Seahorsin' Around is the only one I picked up and it's a sparkly aqua blue textured polish with teal and gold shimmers.

I picked up the last bottle of Chromatic Creation and it's a silvery holographic nail polish, giving you a linear holo. I wished the rainbow of color looked more vibrant.

Anyways, I broke a couple nails so it will be a while until I get to show you the swatches on my fingers. I figured I should probably still show you some sort of swatches so you can decide if you want any of these before the sale is over.

China Glaze - Be Merry Be Bright & Travel in Colour

This morning was nice and quiet until I got a weather alert on my phone saying that we were under a tornado warning. Fortunately, nothing happened other than rain, at least in our area. It was a rather relaxing weekend for me. Didn't do much other than work a bit on my blog and stayed home watching Netflix.

I picked up these two nail polishes from Sally Beauty Supply last week and I'm due for some swatches.

Be Merry Be Bright is one of China Glaze new polishes for the holiday and well apparently this year's collection just failed to thrill me. I thought I was going to like this one but after I swatched it on I was like mehhh it's ok. It contains a mix of pink and purple glitters in a clear base. The base is thick which picked up a good amount of glitters but also made spreading them a bit more difficult.

Travel in Color is an odd name for a sheer nail polish but it does have a lovely blue and pink shimmer to it. I layered it over OPI Do You Lilac It and I completely fell in love with the combo. It has a very pretty shimmery glow to it and I wore it that way last week. Had so many compliments on the mani.

I hope you all had a great weekend.

TJ Maxx Haul + China Glaze

Apparently the Sephora VIB sale is coming up this week on November 7th and I still haven't received my VIB invite or email! I wonder if it will come in the mail at the last minute or after it has started but it bugs me that I haven't received it by now. Some of the stuff I wanted, I have pinned it on my Wishlist Board on Pinterest but I have to think really hard about what I'm really going to get. I have to try really hard not to break the bank, lol.

Anyhoo, I did a little bit of shopping last Friday. It was payday and I had a lousy day so I needed a pick me up retail therapy. I stopped by TJ Maxx and Sally Beauty Supply on my way home from work.

I don't know about you guys but I'm addicted to getting these nail polish deals at TJ. I got this set of Nicole by OPI for just $5.99. A present to myself, hehe.

Going to run out of my night time cream soon so when I saw the Shiseido Night Moisture Recharge at TJ for just $24.99. I felt like it was the perfect time to get it. Normally retails for $42.50 so it was hard to ignore the sale price.

Korres Pomegranate Mattifying Treatment, $6.99. I've never purchased a full size of Korres products but I've tried some samples. What raised my interest was that it is a mattifying treatment and I tend to get oily on my T-zone so I'm excited to give this a try and see how that works out. It retails for $38.00, another score and I probably wouldn't have picked it up at the regular price.

The new holiday set from China Glaze are now available at Sally Beauty Supply. The only one that I thought was nice is Be Merry Be Bright (on the left). It's a mix of fuchsia and purple glitters in a clear base. Travel in Colour is a frosty shimmery white with blue and pink shimmers. I don't know if that was part of the holiday collection but Sally had a bunch of these mini bottles.

That's it for my little haul. What are you planning to get on the VIB sale?

China Glaze Monsters Ball Nail Polishes - Bat My Eyes and Fang-Tastic

Hi all,

I got these two nail polishes from the new China Glaze Halloween 2013 collection when Cherry Culture had that awesome sale a little while back. This collection is also available at Ulta. I tried looking to see if Sally Beauty had them but didn't see it last time. I don't know but I thought this year's collection wasn't as fun as the ones before.

Bat My Eyes is a dark polish with lots of gold glitters and surprisingly it also has orange bar glitters. The bar glitters are barely noticeable so I think it was kind of a waste but on the flip side, I think the gold and black looks pretty nice together. My main issue is the formula. It is thick and hard to spread the polish and glitters evenly. I only needed two coats for opaque coverage but as you may be able to tell the surface isn't smooth and a little bumpy.

Fang-tastic, I like the name. It doesn't really look Halloween-ish but when I layered it over a dark polish. I guess I can kind of see that fun and festive darkness to it. It has blue, green, and pink glitters mixed into a clear base. It's not too thick or thin and pick up a good amount of glitters.
