2nd week in laramie

Image
Woot. It's the 2nd week in Laramie, Wyoming already. Didn't really do much this week, but nonetheless I still have stuffs to blog about. After the trip from Miami, school has started to pick up a little. There are assignments and readings (which I refused to start on) here and there and they go one chapter in 2 days. So it's kind of difficult to motivate yourself to read, especially when you know your grades doesn't really matter. Haha. Well, the main highlight for this week is the club and the indian restaurant that we visited. First up, the club. I am sure you guys must be wondering how is it like in a club in United States. We visited one on Thursday night, but as we have minors with us, we could only enter the 18 & above club. Haha. You shouldn't generalise what you see here to the major cities in US. Laramie is a peaceful and sparsely populated town, so what you see here is quite simple and plain. A wooden dance floor, a wide screen projector, and a few cow...

End of first week in UW

I am at Denver International Airport now! Haha. Some of you might be wondering why. I am on my way to visit Carmen at Miami! Woohoo. Hot and warm weather for a change! Haha. But I have to stick around at the airport for 12 hours. Haha. Oh wells. Good things come with a price. =) Anyway, here's the end of another week, so here I am updating the fun, joy & laughter from Laramie, Wyoming. Anyway, last Sunday we went for a church meeting at one of our International Coordinators' house. Well, I am not a big fan of such stuff, but I just tagged along. I can't remember what we read, so pardon me for not explaining what was discussed. To me, the highlight wasn't the things that they discussed in the bible, but these cute adorable ANG MOH kids that were in the house. They are like totally adorable. I just feel like cuddling them all the time, but I didn't, if not I would appear like a dirty old man. Haha. Everyone wants a piece of them. After that, we were cordially invi...

first day wyoming

Well, as many would know, I am in Laramie, Wyoming already. After the horrendously long flight, I touched down to battle the extreme cold and snow. Haha. Carmen, Mazlynnah, Wei Yen, Alvyn & Shane came to send me off early Thursday morning. It was really nice of them to wake up so early and reach the airport just to bid me farewell. Thanks guys! =D When I reached Los Angeles for transiting flights, the US custom officer told me I wasn't on the passenger list on the plane. Due to terrorism, the security in US is pretty tight and they are quite anal about certain details. But luckily, he just added me into the flight and moved on to check my visa. Los Angeles was cooling, even though we can see glaring sunlight on the wall, the outside of airport was like air-conditioned, like a hugh-ass crystal ball covers Los Angeles just to pump cold air into it. I donated US 5 dollars to some charity campaign, I thought it would be nice to start by doing something nice. When I reached Denver I...

Predeparture blues

I have delayed blogging here for a few reasons. Haha. But I guess it's mainly due to the fact that I haven't come to terms with myself that I am leaving for 4 months. Also, I don't really want people to send me off, I am not one who's good with parting scenes. Anyway, I met up with S6B for dinner last Saturday and it was sure worth the dinner. Sharon and Hui Juan got me a few stuffs, including a laptop bag and a notebook which I will be using over there. The rest of the items I will just safe keep it back in Singapore. I love this class of weirdos. =) And of course, my brothers did stuff for me too. They got me a super thick windbreaker to battle the cold in Wyoming from Wintertime. Thanks a lot, I am sure it will come in very handy. I didn't take a picture of it, as I have already vacuum packed it. Haha. Well at least, I will miss you guys when I am there. And of course, there's Carmen. She gave me a FCUK watch today, and I think it's really classy. Even th...
