early sunday morning.

Its an early Sunday morning. The weather looks fine. I woke up with a sms from my buddy, asking me whether I want to head down to Xinmin Secondary School field to watch them play soccer.. As time goes by, somewhat I have grew attached to my department and the staff there. Just like my buddy said, we used to hope for earlier ORD and all, but somehow that thought just isn't so strong anymore. Instead, I think I will get to miss these people that I have worked with for the past 1 year plus.. Its strange isn't it? Despite the ridiculous tasking that were given out, despite the unrealistic targets that were set, despite the demanding boss who wants everything done within one day, some way or another, my colleagues and I have grown attached to each other. Especially the driving package last week, although it was very tiring, but we had a lot of fun from it.. Thinking back of it, I will ORD as normal, but I guess I will really miss this place a lot.. Heard some disturbing news thi...

happy family.

You know, its kind of heartening to hear this kind of weird stuff early in the morning. In the midst of our daily busy lives, we seldom get a chance to hear such things. This one came from my parents. My father called back early in the morning, and my mother picked up the phone. Dad: "Hey wife, why did you miss me so early in the morning? My ears are itching leh, you know?" Mum: "Don't think so much, we didn't miss you.. Maybe its ear infection, you better go see doctor." Dad: "Wah lao eh, can you be more spontaneous!?" Mum: "You are a weird man. Haha. K la k la, miss you can? Be careful at work ah." Dad: "Ok, you guys take care too." I have got weird parents. *The above conversation was translated from pure hokkien to english. Pardon me for any mistakes in grammar.*

back from a long drivin week

Its has been a relatively long week for me in camp. Did duty on the whole of Sunday and had outfield the next day.. Well, wasn't given any rest at all and I went out to take the kids out to driving.. Teaching them how to drive those heavy vehicles is definitely not easy.. Haha.. Standing on top in the compartment and getting swing around when the vehicle passes through undulating terrain is no joke. Got quite a few bruises.. Think need to go see 'Sinseh'. What's worse was the last day where they had to cross obstacles. Almost died out there. Haha. I believe Cheryl is back in Singapore already. But I didn't go and contact her, wonder if we are going to meet up. I won't be able to meet up with you people out there regularly from this week onwards. Will be confined due to the COC parade that is coming up and the hectic training programme that is installed for us.. Plus the Taiwan trip, I guess I will only be free around mid October. That's like so sad. Haha. Ve...

ate at jap

Just got home from dinner.. Haha.. Its been a long time since I entered some posh restaurant. Enjoyed myself tonight, and what adds to it is the cute waitress that was serving us.. Haha.. Anyway, just helping Wei Qi to promote her band concert. Well, she's been actively participating in the Band arena, haven't really seen her rest yet.. The details are as follows: Compassvale Secondary School Alumni Band Concert Venue: Victoria Concert Hall Date: 23rd June Time: 7pm Price: $10 / $12 Well, if you band people out there are interested, you may contact her directly, and if you don't have her contact, you can get it from me. Will be doing Guard Duty tomorrow again. Rather frequent that I am doing duties nowadays. When will this shit end? I guess there will be more to come.

finished all the courses

Finally I finished all my courses for the year. Now I am back at my own unit and taking new trainees, which thereafter, I will ORD from there. Yeah. Had been rather emotionally unstable the past week in camp. Just feeling moody and thinking a lot.. Trying to figure out the cause of it, but to no avail. I think probably its due to the fact that the 10th just passed. Suddenly, I thought of a lot of things. I have been comparing myself with a lot of other people lately, maybe because I met many new people in the course. Somehow, I came to the conclusion that I am not as good as anyone of them. Seriously, I seemed to be able to find flaws in every aspects of myself. And of course, that made me even more depressed. Haha. I think I am easily disillusioned by little achievements. I think I need to keep on reminding myself that there is always someone better out there.. Somewhat, I do think too highly of myself at times, or rather, I don't want to be put down in front of others. I guess I ...

Shag day

Went out with Wei Yen and Alvyn in the afternoon yesterday. Had high tea (hey, its high tea k.. dun play play) at Ding Tai Feng. Haha.. The dim sum was not too bad, and I realised that all the waiters are from China.. Haha.. Think they trying to look professional. I think I am addicted to pool. Have been playing it this few weeks. -.- Didn't sleep last night. Haha.. I ended up playing mahjong with Khong Chin, Wei Yen and Deren. Not too bad, I won quite a bit, but I ended up treating them breakfast.. Haha.. Was dragged by Wei Yen to go and play badminton early in the morning with a few members from MPYC (that was the choir I joined for carolling last year). Couldn't wake up in time, in the end, Khong Chin called my house and my mum woke me up. Haven't touched a badminton racket since secondary 2. Its been 5 years.. Haha.. I was half dead on the court looking like a cock. Its freaking long since the last time I played.. Wei Yen told me that Aloysius and I are very different i...

back from PS common phase.

Just got back from a hectic week on course. Its been a rather exciting week. I was that lucky that I am the first one to perform overnight office duty in the whole of the course. Not forgetting that the next day is outfield and staying overnight there. Its seriously very tiring.. Practically I never sleep and bathe for 2 1/2days.. Its been a long time since I have such an experience.. Moreover, there are drill lessons straight away after coming back from the field. Tough time to get past. Well despite the difficulty, I can't deny the fact that I have learnt a lot from the Leadership training programmes.. Been put through a lot of scenarios and situations and forced to plan and make decisions.. Its has been really enriching for me.. Well, if you band people are reading this, the band barbecue has been postponed to 7th July. So try to keep that day free.. I will try my best to inform you people as soon as possible. Thanks Jie & Tessa, for dropping by a message. Reminiscing the pa...

sianz

Will be going to another camp to start another course.. Just hope that the 2 upcoming weeks passes quickly. Life's been getting more mundane as each day passes by.. Sometimes, its just hard to find motivation to carry on with work.. Even weekends seemed bleak. When you think back of the past, can't help but whine at the fact that the past will be the past, and its quite impossible to return to that state before. What's left is for reminiscence purposes. Regrets are part and parcel of life. A lot have asked me whether did I regret doing this, not doing that and all sorts of questions that make you ponder a lot. I guess they are just lessons that we pick up the hard way.. How does one know whether he made the right decision? I believe he will never know till he made the choice. There's a lot of 'what if' when we look at different consequences, normally the negative ones... People follow some lines of principles when they make decisions. There is no right or wrong,...

chillin at brewerks.

Just got home.. Haha ... Seriously tired... Just went to 'chill' at Brewerkz with Brotherhood people.. That's what they called it.. Haha .. Its was fun joking and playing.. Just letting our hair down for one night.. Haha .. Its at Riverside Point, near Clarke Quay if I didn't remember wrongly.. I drank a hell lot. Oh no.. But the beer there was quite nice, its unlike those Tiger beer or Carlsberg you find in 7-11.. Its brewed from their own brewery.. Well, its was a good experience.. For those who don't know, I have been drinking beer since I was 5.. During Chinese New Year, my father asked me to try out Tiger beer, but ended up having my mother scolding him.. Dad: "Hey, Xiang ah, lai lim ji chui Tiger beer." (Come have a taste of Tiger beer.) Mum: " Ooi ! Si Lao Bei ! Hor li ey si gina lim simi ?" (Crazy dad, what on earth are u letting your child drink?) Well, that's how I got to taste alcohol for the very first time.

mahjong

Went for overnight mahjong last night at Ming Wei's house after that went to play soccer in the morning.. This is seriously very tiring. Didn't have much sleep and I went out again after soccer, to confirm our purchase of the jersey. But to our dismay, things don't look as good.. They said it was out of stock and they not intending to re-order the jerseys, so can't make that design.. But that wasn't what we heard on Thursday.. Hmmm.. Just already a bit pissed off by that knowledge, in addition to their poor service and attitude, I decided not to buy anything from them.. Will be heading down town again later.. Enjoy the night scenery at Clarke Quay. The ugly side of a Singaporean: How ugly is yours? Its glad to know you are ok. To be there for others is never an easy task. Trying. Still.

pirates

Went to watch Pirates of the Caribbean 3 with De Shun and Sok Fong.. Too bad Quek couldn't join us.. But I am surprised to catch him online after I reached home.. Haha.. Well, the show isn't as bad as what I expected, due to a lot of negative comments I received from those who had watched it.. I think you people should watch it if you have caught the previous 2 sequels.. After that, the 3 of us decided to have some dessert.. Went to Cafe Cartel, but the menu isn't really attracting us.. In the end, settled for Secret Recipe.. Haha.. The chocolate cakes there are not bad.. Haha. But the lemon tea is very sour =x I guess having only 3 of us is a bit weird. Haha.. Well, till we meet again when Cheryl returns on the 16th or 17th June.
