A short taste of civilian life.

Phew. Its been a hectic week as the preparations for live firing begins. With the trainees taking their IPPT and SOC tests, I wonder if they have the strength to carry on.. Haha.. Taught camouflaging drill under sorching sun. Handled the re-fuelling of tanks in heavy rain. Now I am sunburnt and down with flu. I think I am falling sick. Got home just a few moments ago, and soon I will be going back to camp. Will just rest at home till then. Wondering what's wrong with you?

Silent Weekend.

Silent weekend. Or at least, that's how its has been. Did nothing this weekend. Really nothing. Next week, I will definitely do nothing. Silent weekend.

First band concert of the year.

Yesterday night went to Victoria Concert Hall and attended a band concert by NTU Symphonic Band. Haha.. Its been some time since I last been to one.. Haha.. Its the first of the year also.. They played a few familar pieces, like El Camino Real and Spatacus Suite. Haha.. Reminds me of the old band days.. Seriously wonder whether will I pick up a Saxophone and play again.. Haha.. I am a saxophonist. Proud to be that.

No respite even during weekends.

Just came back from the Changi General Hospital. Early in the morning, before I could even struggle out of my bed, I received a phonecall telling my Uncle is in serious condition and has to be brought to the hospital. Being one of the more senior males around, I rushed over to his house and sent him to hospital. Now, his condition has stabilised. He is suffering from tuberculosis and the X-Ray has shown that his left lung is completely covered with white spots. God knows what is that, and he has been warded. Don't even get to have a proper rest on weekends. Later in the evening will be attending a band concert by NTU. Sok Fong asked me to go. but I thought I couldn't make it. But anyway, I can now. Already lost the mood for entertainment.

Nobody.

I am just a nobody in nobody's world. I couldn't care nonetheless.

Live firing soon.

Phew. I am back again from a tiring week. Its been a hectic week with lots of physical training and the commencement of crew training.. Soon, I will be taking my own crew, teaching them about set drills and commands that I myself just learnt. I will prepare them for their Taiwan trip and lead them to bash through jungles encountering tanks and troops and escaping from them. Soon, it will be their POP and I will get to wait for my last batch of trainees that I have to take before I ORD. Went to Kallang Stadium on last Wednesday and caught the ASEAN Soccer Championship match between Singapore and Indonesia. Haha.. It ended up in a draw. That was first time watching a 'live' soccer match in a stadium. The atmosphere was quite astounding, even though it wasn't full house. Also amused by how some dedicated fans react to mistakes by the referee and players. Haha.. All in all, I think it was a good experience. Crew training started today. We 3 new instructors were the demonstrator...

Something's Wrong.

Hmmmm.. Something's wrong. Have been feeling rather frustrated at little minor issues. Hope its just due to stress or fatigue. Sometimes, just trying to open your eyes and see the world make you feel tired. Faced with the rigid formalities of a regimental vocation, the old-fashioned stubborness your superiors harbor, the inability to create a spark in life. Day in day out, hearing people animating how boring and mundane their lives are, hearing cries of frustration of the suppressed and over-worked, hearing some, who wishes to end their lives. In papers, statistics or reports, Satisfaction in 'life' is supposed to increase, yet, woes and complains seemed to shoot up exponentially. Faltering at the sight of hardships, tempted by incentives and returns, the weakened mind, fuelled only by greed. A train can only go where it tracks take him. Phew. Grumbling too much I guess. I think I need a break.

First Gathering

Yesterday night, the TCC instructors went for steamboat and bowling at Marina. It was the first gathering that the 3 of us new-comers ever attended.. Haha.. To celebrate Guanda's and Staff Tong Leh's Birthday, as well as Guanda's ORD. Woo.. So fast, I see another person ORD-ing in front of me.. Haha.. Soon it will be my turn.. Looking forward to more outings like this in the future. Early in the morning accompanied Alvyn to Singapore Safety Driving Centre at Yio Chu Kang to register and apply for his Basic Theory Test.. Haha.. Woke up kind of early, at 7.30a.m, considering the fact that I slept at 2.30a.m last night. Phew, I am still quite awake now though.. Haha.. Talking about BTT, I am taking the test this coming Tuesday.. Oh no, I haven't study yet.. Seriously hope I won't fail. Looking forward to earning my driving licence in the near future. Won't be going out this weekend. The weather has turned for the bad suddenly and there is an increase in downpours. ...

Another S6B gathering.

Today met up with S6B yet again. This time with the inclusion of 2 new faces: Qing Jing and Karene. Its been ages since I last saw them.. Haha.. Surprisingly, the organiser herself is not here.. Haha.. Nevertheless, we had our gathering at Orchard Cineleisure instead of the former plan at Sentosa. Went out earlier to meet Jasmine as she wanted to buy her printer toner. But I found it weird that she was looking for that at Orchard, town area. I thought it might be quite tough to find a shop that actually sells that, and indeed, we found none. Tried our luck at Best Denki Takashimaya and Lucky Plaza. I guess she will have to go the main outlet at Anson Road, wherever that is. She was grumbling about Lucky Plaza being a scary place and she will cry if she got lost there. It was 1 p.m and only the both of us and Yang Jie were present. Wai Kit and Karene were very late, and Kit ended up treating us to the drinks. Haha. He was late by 1.5 hours by the way. Went to 新旺Hong Kong Cafe for lunch....

New Year

Wah.. Another week passed.. I m blogging on the first weekend of the new year.. Yeah.. Haha.. Actually, life hasn't changed much although its the start of the new year.. Haha.. Passed a short week, only consisted of 3 days, yet these 3 days seemed so tough to pass.. Finally, I am at the end of the week. Went out with Tessa today, its been sometime since I met her, so decided to catch up with her. Met at Plaza Singapura, and walked around town. She bought a lot of stuff though. While I am looking around of new year clothes. Anyway, she got me a book ; The Five people You Meet In Heaven. I think its a fantastic book, even though I haven't started reading.. But I have heard comments from others who have, I believe I will enjoy reading it. Thanks girl. Tomorrow I will be meeting up with 04S6B again. It might sound crazy that we actually are meeting up again. Haha.. I guess the girls wanted to organise something. But we aren't heading down to Sentosa though, due to the lack of p...

2nd day of the year..

4 days of long weekend passed just like that.. Haha.. I did a lot of things over this long break that are seriously enjoyable and memorable.. Haha.. Spent the first day of the year at Lim's house.. Started off with attempting to play basketball at NYJC.. Trying to re-live those days that we had.. But to our dismay, the security guard is 'stubbornly-stubborn' and determined not to let us in, despite John trying to flirt with her. 'The court is not open for Public during Public Holidays.' She exclaimed. Sounds wrong though. Lol. Disappointed, we dragged ourselves back to Braddel Heights' Community Centre and started out basketball session there.. There we had someone to join us to make 'even' the number.. Haha.. Long time since we played.. Getting rusty.. Didn't really play for very long before we agreed that it's getting late.. Haha.. As usual, the traditional culture of 04S3A continues even till today. We had a long heated discussion before we ...
