What a weird combination today

RANT:

I'd like to start off with a rant. I submitted an enquiry through X's website about their services. My query was about a formula they had used which slightly differed from the norm, so I just wanted to check with them why they used it. That's all. 1 question, not too hard to ask/answer.

Ok let's just take X to be a renowned mathematician who has set up a company offering its math services. Let's call them MathX. So I submitted a query to MathX asking for their logic/explanation about the formula used. The logic is not too hard to explain, but I just needed a representative from MathX to tell me "This is why we used this formula". Yada Yada BullCrap.

So 1 MathX rep reverted my email, like 3-4days later. Not explaining the formula at all and instead, explained the definition of it. So I shot back saying that I knew what it was, I just needed to know why.

So MathX rep1 didn't have sufficient intelligence to answer my question, so rep1 passed to rep2, who replied to me asking about my personal details and doubted the fact that I was a user of their services. So yet again I shot back, this time to MathX rep2. I said I can't provide him with my details, but he can check his own system to verify me, since he had doubts. And secondly, if I wasn't a user, how would I know that they're using a different formula then the norm? And it's simple to do a background check on me to see if I'm a legitimate user. But no, he has to be a prick to ask these questions when my question was merely a simple one.

But no, he reverted yet again. This time he did a check on me and found my details. And instead of explaining to me the god damned formula, he pushed it to my agent, who helped me to do the paperwork with MathX. Fucking dipshit. Why would I ask my agent? If the company who used this formula cannot even give me, a valid customer, an explanation of their own damned services, then what the heck are we still using it?

After a total of 6 emails across a span of approximately 1 week, my question had not been resolved. Talk about poor customer service! They couldn't even understand the English that came from me, when their native language, probably the only damned language they know, is English!

Tear-Jerking story:

I was curious to ask my friend about the sad blog she talked about. So I got the link, and I went to see it for myself. Little did I know that this blog had actually been.. sorta broadcasted, because so many people read it before. I read the July entries and it made me upset, somewhat disturbing, heart warming, and makes you wonder alot. Unfortunately, the archives are no longer available, otherwise I'd read them too, from the day it all happened.

The story of a lost one: http://www.memyselfmine.blogspot.com

I have many many gazillions of personal beliefs, they are what makes me who I am. My ideas, my thoughts, my personal mantra which I choose to believe in. Mine. Not someone else's. I always believe that life is indeed short. Men has already prolonged life far longer than what it used to be, probably far too long. And because of that, many have failed to remember what they live for, the things that make up their lives, lost in urbanisation where we all experience group-think.

It's important to appreciate the things we have in life. We may have it now, tomorrow, but not forever. The land we live on has already begun to show signs of our folly, yet we still don't treasure it. How many times must someone remind you to switch off the heater when not in use, or turn off the tap, before you really register it?

I believe that religions are there to cultivate good beliefs, to inspire you and to enlighten you. But fellow non believers of God, such as I, can also cultivate the same beliefs, your own beliefs, not anyone else's. We have the 7 deadly sins (Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy and Pride). It's only a matter of putting in the determination to minimise these sins within yourself.

We tend to wonder why bad things befall on us. But we never think twice about the good things that have happened. The effort to open the door for someone, to hold the lift for you, to say Good Morning or simply smile or nod to greet you. These are often taken for granted. It never occurs to you the impact of these little things until they stop happening completely, just like the people in your lives.

Treasure your loved ones and appreciate the goodness of life, for it could always be worse for you, yet you're still alive and kicking with lots more to see, learn and share.

Treasure shouldn't come only after loss. It should come when found.

16

Sweet 16? Maybe 4 years ago.

Today's our 16th Monthsary. I took half day leave so that I could meet up with her earlier. We went to VivoCity to check out Samsung MP3 players. They had nice ones, but it wasn't very cheap. IMO with that price, I could easily choose Apple instead. So we walked around for quite abit. Sales going on almost everywhere.

Eventually we went to Bugis to get some chow at Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao. It was freezing cold and I didn't really like their service though.... Anyway, this Xiao Long Bao thing has been with us for such a long time. Even longer than 16 months... And yet we haven't eaten it since we've been together. So at long last, after 16 months+, we finally get to eat it. It was nice, especially the soup/gravy (whichever sounds more pleasing to you).

I ate some chicken La Mian and the chicken was purposefully cold, like it was put in the refrigerator after it was cooked. And it was really really spicy after a couple of mouthfulls. Unfortunately, no images this month =( Because my darn phone can't take a decent shot at all.

The day went well today and we both enjoyed it =) heh.

Happy 16th month my darling <3

Millionaire Goes Out in Style

Dear Stinkbell

Dear StinkBell

Thank you for dropping me an extremely glorious present. Unfortunately, the postman did not reach me and he left me a little ticket at my doorstep. Filled with anticipation after a dull day of work, I managed to keep my excitement whilst waiting for 30minutes queuing up at the counter at StinkBost.

After the much awaited gift, I took the StinkBell envelope in my eager hand as I signed off the ticket with the other. I walked away with much excitement, wondering what the envelope entails. Was it a winning prize of some mysterious lucky draw I was unaware of? Or could it possibly be half a thousand dollars worth of vouchers! I didn't mind either!

As the exhilaration wore off as I filled my empty stomach with a scrumptious bowl of Mee Pok Tah with extra chilli minus the Pork Liver, I downed a cup of Iced Coffee and took the highly deficient public transport home (pardon me for spelling difficulties. I R NOOB). Upon reaching home, my anticipation crept up again. What did I win?

I took the envelope out of my handbag, ripping apart the envelope to see the letter within. ALL right! A letter from StinkBell! My eyes quickly looked through like Superman, forcing myself to speedread. And then it finally dawned to me what I had won.

A $30 Baka voucher for retaining my StinkBell Pumber Bortapility. And to receive this gift, you would have to present this very letter, with your particulars filled in, at StinkBost...

Yea.. I know... I got screwed...

And another note, while filling my tummy, I was seated next to this mother and child. The boy was probably at most Primary 3, in uniform. When I looked at them, he was already holding his mother's glasses and he was getting into a fit. He was near shouting "Why can't you support your son!" And he ignored his mother wishes and continued ranting like the little prat he was. The mother finally got cheesed off and threatened to slap him at the count of 3. But he didn't stop, not even when she counted till 2.

Seriously, you just gotta give them a good whack on their bottoms. It's because of all the meaningless threats that the boy gets so defiant! He refused to leave his seat, even when his mother picked up his bag and threatened to leave the table. Neither did he return her glasses. Eventually she pulled him away and dragged him along.

I swear if my kid at that age were to do that to me, or worse yet, use Human Rights against me, I would give him a swollen bottom. At 10 years of age, you get so defiant. What happens when you frickin hit puberty? A knife probably wouldn't even scare him anywho.

Tribute to M.J

One of the greatest musicians of all time.

I've been listening to his songs lately and I've realised that we lost a really valuable artiste who wanted to change the world. His soulful songs that were inspirational. Though he had misdemeanors, it didn't compromise the music he made.

Meet up

Met up with a few ex councilors. Was quite enjoyable catching up, but we're growing older now. Somehow I still think that they're still the same as who they were, perhaps a little older, but the same. I wonder how much I've changed and if people still see me as the same person I was.

I hate the education system in this era. Education ideally should come from passing on information to others who are willing to learn. Yet education of today is mostly passed on for the sake of advancement, thus systems to test one's knowledge was developed. Which I think is an absolute shitty idea.

Education fucked us all actually. We went against nature but yet this is deemed as evolution and advancement. Look at what good education did to the place where we live in? After 5 million years, we've fucked it long and hard enough for it to finally come to an end soon. Sure we do live longer now and live more comfortably. Air conditioning at the expense of the environment, vehicles at the expense of global warming, non-biodegradable waste at the expense of mankind. In essence, Education is a double edged sword.

We do live longer, which also means that we suffer longer. Higher life expectancy rate means that the world is slowly overcrowding and which also means that our resources are depleting much faster than it can replenish (yeah as if we didn't know that a few centuries ago). Frankly, the earth will never turn around unless a billion people on this Earth disappeared right now, retaining information and enough to repopulate ourselves.

Again, boring stuff from me. Wish I could migrate. Public transport upping again.

We, the M-Shaped Society

M Shaped Society

Today's featured article: http://www.zshare.net/download/15043795d58e4292/

Wow it's funny. At least 65% are born and bred here. For once this figure really tells me the true story. As I've mentioned before, never believe the media. Thus I am banking on the fact that 65% is actually an overly estimated figure, which makes me laugh.

Singapore has become an M-Shaped Society whereby theres the rich, and the poor. What used to be middle income earners have dissipated and moved downwards. Sure the GNP shows fantastic figures, heck we're not even affected by the recession due to the F1 Grand Prix, but surely it's still almost as bad as a recession.

Singapore has always headed towards the direction of forming bilateral ties, and to drive it's economy. But more than any country in the world, Singapore wants to prove herself. Well that's the point. It's not Singapore that wants to prove herself. It's the government who wants to move towards that direction. Afterall, they're the leaders. We just follow.

We have single handedly cultivated a society where the strong eat the weak and nobody gives a shit about giving birth to babies. At least not enough. Standard of living has become so tough that the poor cannot afford to give their children a comfortable life, and the rich do not have the motivation to give birth to more.

Having a falling birth rate means having an aging population in Singapore's context, because of the differences in mentality with the people from the past, and the present. And to ensure that the economy does not back slide, the govt decided that inviting foreign talent would bring in growth, bringing in opportunities. Portrayed as the people who would give a different perspective on things, and provide a challenging environment to the locals, these people eventually took over many locals. Some may argue that rice bowls have been snatched, while others say it's just the difference in capabilities and if you had it, your rice bowl will never be taken away.

But yet I've yet to come across any country that makes it so easy for foreigners to live there. We've become a place where foreigners thrive. Why would any local feel a sense of belonging when their neighbours are foreigners, or colleagues/bosses are foreigners, retail and customer service staff are foreigners, classmates are foreigners. And these numbers are never diminishing. 6 million people? where 50% are foreigners? That's a joke. Do you want foreigners to serve NS as well? Because I always thought that NSF fought for the nation, for the countrymen. Not for foreigners. But that's what I had always thought, maybe it's different now.

On another note, Christie has now gone to play his part as a defender of our nation. Having dinner with friends from secondary sch definitely reminded me of the good times, where we were young.......er

Those were the days of ignorance and bliss. Laughing back on the good old days, we were also brought crashing back into reality. The life that we will lead from now on can never be turned around. There's probably no rewind or reset buttons...

Yea... There's probably no rewind or reset buttons...

What a pitiful suay man

http://www.zshare.net/download/14914494c91a9543/

This guy here is so suay. Seriously I wouldn't even laugh about it. 9 years of jail for stealing rifle + bullets. Accepted. 6.5years for being an "accomplice" ZOMG. What a vague term this is.

In the eyes of the law, as long as you lie, see something wrong but nvr blow whistle, and kenna tio dai ji, you suay liao. Like can you frickin' believe that? All he wanted to do was to screw some Thai prostitute and if Teo didn't show/tell him about his loot, he wouldn't have been involved.

And I look at the Terrorism (Suppression of Bombings) Act 2007 and laugh senselessly. What? Harbouring information which could pretty much save a dozen, or better yet hundreds of lives, only 5 years? So laughable because one can't help but find it ridiculous.

Bomb < Gun+Bullet

Wow that's a brain teaser. I would never have gotten that correct.

Saga part 3,610,195,205,999

http://www.zshare.net/download/14686857aa4b0c35/

I like the last sentence. If cost isn't an issue, why not do it?

It's been a busy week. Been doing alot of thinking over many things. Talked about signing on with the army etc... Sounds very tempting. Like an apple dangling infront of you. Makes alot of sense for me actually.

I don't have to pay school fees = parents don't need to pay for me first = don't have to live in debt = can start earning REAL dollars sooner.

And rank, starting pay, job security, allowances. All accounted for. What a golden apple.

Oh well. it's FRIDAY!

Would you sell your organs?

Much much much controversy on this all because some guy got caught buying organs in Singapore. It's being frowned upon and many people are speaking up, saying how inhumane it is to allow it legally. This would probably cause a surge in people wanting to sell their organs, or worse yet, being scammed to do so. But yet some others believe it could be an option to consider. Queuing up on the waiting list could eventually lead to many years of hope and dismay and you might not even be lucky enough to get a suitable donor. It's such a sad thing to see it happening actually.

Yahoo Topic: Will there be ETP (Electronic Train Pricing) when ERP is so successful that the trains are packed every minute?

Frankly this is a ridiculous thing to think of. How can you possibly imagine having a 6 million population? Heck, it won't even stop at 6million at the rate we're importing foreign TALENTS. Soon there will be ETP, EBP and EHP. Train Bus and Human. We're increasing more roads, more train tracks, creating more jobs, building more apartments, revamping all neighbourhoods, introducing supermalls, bringing in unique attractions like F1, Youth Olympics and so forth. How much more can the locals take it? The trains are getting increasingly crowded each time the ERP goes up. And in the following months, statistics would show that this increment has better facilitated the roads during peak hours....

Yes it would, but not for the trains nor bus. Afterall, Singapore has and will always have 1 major limitation. Land. So unless we are able to have a breakthrough, like invading some country and seizing additional territory, I don't think we'll continue to progress indefinitely. I would choose to live in another country and I bet many other locals would do it too. Why live in a place you no longer feel at home where the foreigners are slowly taking over the population of the locals on a day-day basis?

And I'm really cheesed off at my sister. The arrogant one. She asked me if I'm still receiving pocket money from my parents. Yes I am, I'm not too proud of it, but unfortunately I'm not fully self sufficient for the time being. And yes I haven't paid off my tuition fees, I'm not proud of it either. And no I haven't received my first pay cheque yet. And no I don't think money is the most fucking important thing in the world. Sure it helps, but it's not what's life is about. How can you possibly fucking compare your sibling who's 6 fucking years younger than you who doesn't even have a permanent job and who hasn't even completed NS, a necessary stage for local men in SG unlike females.

I don't have to throw money at my parents to let them know I remember them. I let them know by being a good child. I know it's an amazing feeling to know that your child actually cares for you, unlike throwing fucking paper at you and thinking that that's all you'd ever need. A wad of paper, devoid of any emotion. Why would anybody need to have children then if money is all that matters? Since when do you remember thanking your parents for giving you life and raising you up with a shelter over you? Such is the downfall of education.

One day I shall rise above you, and money will no longer be an fucking issue. 26 years of age and you would think that one would've matured. But no. I've come to realise that the moment you reach 21, maturity stops. Only experience lies ahead.

How can I get out of the stench of society?
