Another Special Card!

I'm so behind with everything!!!!!!

Well was up again early this morning, have done all my planning for next week, only two more weeks and it's half term!!!!!!!!!

Ironing to do later, but I'm in the throws of tidying my craft room. I'm so fed up with stuff!!!!!!!

I have too much of it, so spent last night clearing and resorting.

I'm planning on a complete over haul in there. Hopefully hubby is now convince that it needs gutting and refurbishing!!! Only taken me since last summer to talk him into it!!

Well for today's share.

This is a card I made for a very special friend of my hubby's, Damian who was forty last weekend.

I love these Greeting Farm Stamps. This one in particular is so useful for all men's cards. I did a little paper piecing, but to make it look better I use some Promarkers to add shading.

The sentiments came with the image and suited Damian well.

With a few punched pieces and linen thread here and there. This is the finished card!

He loved it and we really surprised him, cos we were the surprise guest at his party!!

Right I'm off to carry on with the craft room, ironing and photographing project shares for this week!!

New Releases and A Special Birthday!

Hi All! Sorry I've not posted anything this week but have been really busy with work. Have had major observations and they were very hard going!!!!! Plus Have had a cold and lost my inspiration.
But!!!!!!! When I opened a little package this week I was thrilled and have inked up and been colouring all night.
I was even up at 5.00am making a special Project for a Special Lady's Birthday today. I'm dropping it off soon so can post it now to show you all.

My Sugar Nellie Design Team Kit was a real inspiration and this cutie called April Showers (one of 6 new Manga stamps now available from Funky Kits) made me think of this template from Arty Farty. I dragged it out and dusted it off.

The papers I used are new and are really bright and zingy, The are from DCWV and are called CITRUS STACK.

This sentiment, from Elzybells (New Valentine Range of Clear Stamps) was very apt for my friend, too!

I punched out lots of Retro Flowers and layered them up with some punched out leaves and with this one above I attached some ribbon and brads.

Hope you like, I'm off to create more with my new stamps. I love the New Mangas, they are gorgeous.

Here Come The Girlies!!!!

Here it is the project I have been working for about three weeks. Its been a lovely project to work on and I have used my favourite stamps to date. I really love the Sugar and Spice Stamp Collection from Sugar Nellie, available from Funky Kits.

I have used The My Minds Eye Paper Collection and Embellishment set. I think The one I used was Wild Asparagus. I love them.

I used My Cricut to create the initial template then once the pages were made and they were then covered with the various papers I bound it all together using my Bind It All. I then used lots of ribbons from my stash to add detail to the binding.

This is Erin. I Love those pigtales, reminds me of times gone by when my mum used to plait my hair, now my daughter hates them!!!

I coloured her, as with all the images using my Promarkers. I also used Various Nesties in the backgrounds.

This is Elise. She is so ready for Valentines Day, giving away her heart to all those secret admirers. The button are from the embellishment kit, which co-ordinates with the Paper Pack.

The sentiment I used was from the Stampin' Up Set Pocket Silhouettes.

This is Martha. She is my favourite. I love her hair popping out from under her hat.

The flower was punched out twice using the Stampin' Up Five Petal Flower Punch and layered together, finished off with a button and some ribbon. The sentiment is also Stampin' Up and is available for a limited time if you spend £45 before the end of February.

This is Isla.

This is Raven. A definitely a girl on a mission. She has a very determined stomp, with her heavy duty wellies and wrapping against the elements.

Again the sentiment is from Stampin' Up.

This is Heather. She loves the rain, and is just about ready to jump in those puddles.

Wrapped Up Boy!

Here is another of the soon to be released images from Sugar Nellie. This is a MAry Hall Stamp and will be able at Funky Kits soon.

This Little chappie really looks like he has enjoyed the snow.

The papers I have used for these two projects are from Making Memories.

The stars were punched using the Stampin' Up Star Punch and some Stampin' Up buttons were added.

An then a simple sentiment layered up and added.

Here is another Card I made. I think I went a bit over board with the snow flakes and dewdrops.

The sentiment is a new Stamp Set from Stampin' Up Promotion at the Mo. Spend £45 or more and you can choose from 4 sets.

Another Mini Book!

I love my Sizzix Dies. Anyone who knows me and has been to my Craft Room will know I have a bit of an obsession with them. These new Dies are no exception. They are available from Cutting Edge Craft and retail for about £22.

I have been thinking about buying this stamp set from Stampin' Up for ages and finally did it.

I love it the flower is gorgeous, and so sophisticated. I even created a mini book to go inside. A fab gift for an engagement, anniversary or wedding. There are lots of options. Watch this space for more ideas.

The mini book was created using my Bind It All, lots of ribbon and Stampin' Up Goodies.

Wrapped Up Girl! Sneaky Peek!

Here is a new design by Mary Hall, soon to be available from Funky Kits.

The design Team were lucky enough to get these designs as part of their Design Kit.

They came as Digi-images, which are fabulous. You can change the size of the image to suit the project you want to create.

I used this Image WRAPPED UP GIRL, for my Niece's Birthday card.

The paper are from my extensive stash, and are Making Memories. I love Pink and Green together.

Here are a few new goodies I treated my self to. The Scallop Square Punch from Stampin' Up along with a sentiment from a Sale-a-bration set (available when you spend £45 or more), The Charm is from Bunny Zoe's and the ribbon is a retired set from Stampin' Up.

Here is another card with a bigger image. She is so adorable. I had a break from my Promarkers and used my Copics instead.

The ribbon on this card is still available from Stampin' Up.

Here are both cards together, you can see the difference in size.

Mini Book Tutorial

I was asked If I could explain how I made my Mini Book for the projects I have created this week for the Shaker Box Book Cases. So I thought it would be easier to do a tutorial. There are quite a few photos, but hopefully it is explained fully.

I make these books with the children at school!!!! Hopefully you all will listen and concentrate much better than 7 year olds!!!

Here goes!!

MINI BOOK TUTORIAL

1. Cut 5 pieces of paper so they measure 14cm by 28cm

2. Fold each as above.

3. Fold in half, to look like this making sure the fold is on the right hand side.

4. Cut the paper, from the fold to the next fold line.

5. You should have this then,

6. Lay the piece of paper out flat then gently push the sides in and this should happen. The centre should resemble a duck's mouth.

7. Keep pushing inwards and the piece of paper should then create this shape, the longest folded line is in the middle.

8. If you then gently squeeze the paper together so you have a folded section and cut section on each side you should end up with the paper folded like below.

9. The fold the whole thing in half along the centre fold line.

10. You should then have this, one mini book.

11. The mini books I made have five, individual books stuck together, but it depends how much decorating you want to do one the actual books. One individual book or even two may be enough, if you intend to stick papers to each page.

12. This is what my finished book looked like, 5 stuck together.

13. To make the cover I cut a strip of A4, 7.2cm wide and the full length of A4 (just under 30cm)

14. Stick the front of the book to the left hand side of the piece of card, leaving a small border at the left edge, about 1mm.

15. Score along the folded edges of the book to begin to create the spin.

16. Fold this score line and then score along the edge of the book again, again the card, this will then complete the spine.

17. Again score along the edge of the book against the card, fold, then score again and fold. this creates the folded up section of the binder, or you could cut the card here to create a conventional book.

18. Once you have created the back of the book you can stick it down.

19. Trim the flap to about 3cm.

20. You now have the book bound with a front flap.

21. You can use any kind of fastening, ribbon is a good holder. However as a bonus I have created a fancier fastener. I have see these around for ages so thought I'd have a go and put it on one of my mini books.

22. I cut 3 different sizes in circles, but an extra large black circle just for sturdiness.

23. I then layered them up to create the fastener.

24. A hole punched in each using my crop-o-dile.

25. Then a brad in each, but without flattening the backs.

26. I began to tie a knot in some thread, but before completing the knot I put it around the back of the brad, and finished the knot.

27. Create the mats for the front of the book, and position holes where the fasteners need to go.

28. Attach the fastener without the thread but wrap one end of the thread around it the flatten out the back, sounds odd I know but it will make sense soon.

29. Undo the thread and the fastener should be a little bit loose. Then attach the other fastener (with the thread) to the other side.

30. Flatten the back, then adhere tape to the back of the mats, and stick to the front cover of the book

31. Close the cover and wrap the thread around the opposite fastener, it needed to be loose to be able to be wrapped around.

32. You can add tags if wanted, before you wrap the thread.

That's it.
