Confession: I have been to so many apple picking and pumpkin picking field trips I've become a bit of a fall humbug. Give me a slice of pumpkin bread, a hot chocolate and I'm happier than a pig at slop. I don't yearn to harvest anything or carve anything to get into the season. When the cool breeze blows and I can cuddle into leggings and a hoodie, that's all I need. I thought I was fully past those field trips but Sydney's brownie troop planned one and parents were expected to attend. Turns out this was the best one yet!
Sydney was so dang excited and they had apple spice donuts ready and waiting as the girls arrived.
A lot of apple and pumpkin farms are kind of formulaic but Tom's Farm had a lot of features I've never seen before like these duck races.
Using those old-fashioned water pumps is a lot of fun (yes for me and Sydney) and we started stacking the ducks to see how many we could send at once.
I'm pretty sure I could have just left Sydney with her friends here for the entire event, they were having so much fun.
I've never seen these dune buggies either. Even though it was a relatively small track, the kids had a lot of fun riding around on it.
Sydney is half the feet she is in years.
This gave me all kinds of pandemic anxiety. Is it sanitary in there with all the kids touching everything?
They say our kids keep us young and I have to thank Sydney (and her troop) for getting me to enjoy fall more than I would have. Hmmm, maybe we should go next year...
